Sunday weigh in

Sunday, April 29, 2012

I have been not very good on the blogging the last few days. Been working alot and then gone all day Saturday. Was totally exhausted last night. Did my last bowling tournament yesterday. Only hit my average 2 times but had a good time with all the gals.

Well, the 30th is finally getting here and I will see the back doctor. Am anxious to hear what he says and how I can get help. Friday night the legs were really jumpy which I have never had before, thought I was going nuts. The scale finally showed a lost today. I think I have come to the concussion that I have been under eating. I have relaxed alittle and don't worry as much on my choices. I am smart enough now to know what I can have and can't have.

I will let you know what the doctor says on Monday and maybe I can loss the pain and gain the health to get more excercise.

I knew you were going to have a very busy schedule for the end of this past week up through today. Now bowling is behind you until next year??? or do you do summer leagues too? Sure hope you get some answers tomorrow. I know how much you want to push yourself to exercise more but I think you are doing great already. I just wish you didn't have the pain. Congrats on the scale moving downward. That has to make you feel a bit more motivated. Relax and enjoy the rest of the weekend now. You deserve a rest.

emoticon on the weight loss. Glad you had a good time with your friends...sometimes the bowling in a tournament ends up to be secondary....it happens. Sure hope the DR has good news and a plan for you.....would be nice to have this behind you. Isn't it funny how after awhile we just know what we can and should not eat....I think that means we are "getting it"...understanding the plan and how it works for us. Have a restful Sunday. Oh by the way I made the shrimp salad recipe and it was yummy.....thanks! emoticon

This has been a kick back day. Did some running up town and got some chairs for our deck that are more comfortable then what we had. Cleaned some cupboards and floors. Should do the treadmill but sore enough I figured I would give myself a break. Tomorrow I will get it done. Thursday is the concert at school. Will see my grandson sing in chorus. Friday will have to work 7 hours at school to help out. Will do breakfast at the high school and then serve at elementary. That will do me in. Saturday will be going to Pella for a senior bowling tournament. Plan on a tea house to eat. Should be fun. Then finally Monday will see the back doctor.

Looks like the summer will be a busy one, so hope no surgery just an epidural in spine. Happy hump day all.

Wow.....that is quite a lineup for a busy end of the week. Have a good time at the concert tonight. It's neat that you are so active in your grandkids lives. I'm sure they love the attention even if they don't say it outloud. Glad you are enjoying your pedometer. It makes you more aware of how active you are doesn't it? I wore my to work last night and put in over 9000 steps at work and it was just an average night....not terribly busy. I knew I walked alot at work but just never knew how much, so that is good.
Have fun tonight and make all your choices healthy ones!!

Taking a break from the "dreadmill" once in awhile is a good thing for the back, my opinion. Sounds like a busy, but fun (outside of the working hours) few days. These are the thinks that keep us going. Thanks for the recipe....I will be trying it. Let us know how the DR. appointment goes....unless you have already had a cortisone shot before that may be the way he will go....well before surgery....I think. Have a wonderful next few days and enjoy yourself. emoticon

Hey, I really really wish on you that an epidural will do it! Sounds like you have many important activities so hopefully your back will behave. Take care!

Sunny Tuesay

Tuesday, April 24, 2012

The sun is shining and it is to get to the 70s today. Hurrah!! Worked yesterday for 6 hours and will go in today for 2 hours. Dentist today for my cleaning and then just gpoingto enjoy the day. It is DHs birthday but he will be golfing and then has a meeting in the evening.

Got a pedometer to try out. Hopefully it will help knowing how many steps I do a day. Very sore today so hard to get moving but know I have to do it.

Hope the week is going well for everyone and your weather is also a gorgous day. emoticon

Glad you got some good weather to enjoy. Work is keeping you pretty busy for being retired.

That is cool that you got a pedometer. I am enjoying mine. I'm not sure it's making me do more but it's making me more aware of what I do and it's fun to see how many steps I put in each day. Yesterday I didn't do very many because it was super nice out so I went riding for a few hours then later I was washing my vinyl fence so basically standing and just bending up and down. I haven't really cleaned it for several years and it was needing it in the shady part of my yard. Looks nice now but my arms were feeling like rubber by the time I got done. Then in the evening, I was sitting in the grass doing some edging around the landscapes so even though I was "working" out I didn't get many steps in. I think you will enjoy yours. Every little bit of motivation helps in this journey.
Enjoy the rest of your day.

Glorious Sunday

Sunday, April 22, 2012

Well the scale wasn't good today for I didn't loss anything. The sun is shining and I have gotten some walking in. Feel down in the dumps and want to cry sometimes but just need to shake the feeling. Went out with friends last night and had a glass of wine. Not sure why I am depressed but hope the back is the reason and in another week will get results and get over it.

Next week will be busy. Work 2 hours on Monday and Tuesday and have a dentist appt. Have a concert for high school on Thursday and then work 6 hours on Friday. Some times wonder why I retired, as much as I go in. Problem is I just haven't learned the no word yet.

DH is going golfing so think I will take a ride and enjoy the weather. Hope all your weekends are going well.

I'm glad you got outside and enjoyed the sunshine. That is what we are suppose to do when it's nice out. We need to get as much vitamin D as we can. I know being outside really lifts my spirits. I get pretty down alot living all alone and cry when the mood strikes. Being outside is what keeps me going. I wouldn't get too focused on that scale. It's hard for you to do much exercise plus you have meds you have to take and all that can affect your weight. Look at me....I have no real health issues and my scale is stuck. I could do better on my eating though so shame on me. Sounds like you have a very busy week coming up. Get through this week and then you'll be having your doctor's appointment about your back. Hope you find out something then. Take care and hope the sunshine sticks around for you.

People who have retired say they are as busy as they were when they were working full time. I hope you are enjoying the time working at the school. If you aren't happy when you are there then you should do something you enjoy. Which could be nothing. :)
I hope you are start feeling like your old self soon! emoticon

That pesky scale # DOES NOT define who you are. You are a kind, intelligent, loving, caring person who is doing the best you can, considering your back problem.....I've been there with back problems and I just hated being in pain and not being able to do all the things I would normally do.....YOU will spring back it just will take some patience (which I know is hard to come by sometimes). Glad you are going to get out and enjoy the sunny weather....sunshine always does wonders for my disposition. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon Hang in there my friend, this too shall pass. emoticon

April 20. 1968

44 years ago today we got married. The weather was nice except that 2 tornados were spotted headed for Austin, so wasn't sure if we should go to the alter or the basement. It dissappeared and we went to the alter. Today is sunny but cooler then it was then. It has been a great 44 years with one great guy.

I started the day off with a small yogurt, a banana for snack at 10 and then a Lean cursine sanwich for dinner. Afternoon snack was a hard boiled egg and granola bar. DH took me out for supper and I had a salad, baked walleye and streamed veggies. I was doing so good. Then Joe came out of the kitchen and said Happy Anniversary with a big piece of chocolate cake and whip cream. First I am not suppose to eat chocolate but couldn't make him feel bad, so we said thank you and ate some of it. I had half and DH had half. So there went my perfect day. Feel quilty plus hope I don't get sick from eating the chocolate. Oh well, had to celebrate some how. These times will come and I just have to move on.

Tomorrow we will go watch the grandson play baseball so hope it is warmer. Then will pick up dog food and my pills and back home. The rest of the weekend should be just church and home. Will work hard to be real strick on eating and get more treadmill done and hope the weigh in on Sunday isn't to bad.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Don't beat yourself up. This is a journey and sometimes there are bumps in the road. Tomorrow's trip will be easier.

Take care!

I'm glad you guys had a nice relaxing pleasant day together. And I'm glad there weren't any tornadoes this time around....lol. I seriously wouldn't give that chocolate cake a second thought. It was a very special celebration and something the two of you shared. You will still do fine on Sunday and if not, you'll be right back at it the next Sunday.
Cherish your memories.
