Rainy thursday

One day nice and then the next ugly. Raining all day and chilly here. Ran to the store for lettuce and milk but of course DH went with so ended up with lots more.

DH wanted meatloaf for supper so I made a small one for him and DS then made a small turkey loaf for myself. I put tomatoe sauce in the meatloaf which I can't have so that is why the turkey one for myself. They had potatoes of course and I did broccili/cauliflower mix. The rest of the day was also good with a small bowl of raisin bran for brkfst and a small bowl of Healthy Choice soup for dinner.

Last night of bowling tonight so then only the banquet in a couple of weeks. I am so ready for summer.

    Sounds like a good healthy day today. Way to stay on track. I haven't had meatloaf for a long, long time. I don't eat red meat much at all for some reason. I have no preference, I just don't buy it. I stick to chicken and fish mostly for my meat.
The local farmers probably are enjoying the rain I would think. We are in the same kind of weather day day not so nice. It's April so I guess that is to be expected.
Hope you had a good last night of bowling. I know your back will thank you when it's over but you will probably miss the social part of bowling. I was suppose to get my final crown put on this afternoon but the dentist office called and said the place that makes them was just shipping it out this morning so I had to reschedule for next Monday. Oh well.....I turned the other direction and went to the "big city" for some casual shopping. it was a good day.

A beautiful day

The day started out cloudy but soon the sun came out and it was a gorgous day. Had a banquet this morning then home to relax. No more working this week. Only got alitlle time on the treadmill this morning but hope to do some more tonight. Next week will be 3 days of work and a dentist appt. (yah) Then finally the 30th will be here to see about my back.

Fixed the guys homemade pizza tonight and I had 2 spring rolls and a large salad. At the lunchean I ate a spinach/strawberry salad, 1/2 a sandwich and some mixed veggies. When dessert came, I excused myself for the bathroom and came back later for the meeting.

Thursday night will be the last night for bowling league, and I am ready to be done. I do have a senior tournament next Saturday in Pella but will get thru it. May looks busy but will see with my back how much I will be doing.

    You sure stuck to your plan hard and fast today. Wow. I don't think I could have done as well as you with all that food. Good way to avoid the dessert. I'm glad you can take it easy the rest of the week. It has to be hard on your back to stand on your feet at school as long as you do.
Hope you made it back on the treadmill tonight like you planned. It sure makes it easier to get the exercise in when we break it up into smaller times. Have a relaxing evening.

    YOU did awesome with the food today....such power to stay on track...great choices...proud of you. Now the next time I go out for lunch I will remember how well you did and I will mimic you. I don't think I could make a pizza and not have is just not in my genes to do that....although I will have a salad before the pizza...that way I can stop after 1 or 2 small pieces. Have a restful evening and a great tomorrow.
By the way I did get your email.....just no notification that it was delivered.....soon I hope this will be a thing of the past or I just might have to drop ATT internet and go with someone else.....this will be my next tactic when speaking to tech support at ATT.

Looks like we are going to have a sunny day today. The wind has also gotten better. Didn't get on the treadmill yesterday for I worked 6 hours and was tired out. I did get on this morning for 15 minutes and will be going to work for 2 hours.

I think I am not drinking enough water so will try to push more of that this week. Have a banquet to go to tomorrow. Our 44th anniversary is on Friday and have tried to think of something to do, but so far have come up with nothing. It is just a lazy time of year for us.

Fish for supper tonight for me and will make Goulish for the boys. I can't have any tomatoes products so it doesn't bother me to do something differant for myself. Got some different kinds of frozen veggies to try. Found some cinnamon bread that is 60 cals per slice so trying that in the morning as my toast. I know I need to have more varity in my foods so trying to come up with new things.

    I tend to eat the same foods and kind of get in a rut. Cooking for just one person can be challenging especially if you don't like to cook. You sure are dedicated to cook different meals for different folks. That shows how committed you are to your healthy journey. Congrats to you for making that effort.
About your 44th anniversary.....first off, congratulations on a successful my past experience, I've found that the most simplest of celebrations are the most memorable. Sometimes we would just drive up some mountain road and tailgate our dinner and just enjoy the silence and beauty of God's creation. I remember those moments much more vividly than any fancy dinner out on the town. Everyone is different though. I'm sure whatever you do will be perfect as long as you are together.

    Smart move not doing the treadmill, having worked all those hours. And although I can eat tomatoes, I would prefer fish over Goulash any day. Lazy times in the year are great for rejuvenating....body and soul. Happy (early) anniversary. Great to hear there still are people who make it past 10 years together.
Now about that cinnamon bread with 60 calories.....which brand it that? I love cinnamon bread, but stay away because of calories.... Have a great day and enjoy life.
Still not getting email notifications, but hopeful today may be the day....if not I will be calling ATT wanting to know why this hasn't been taken care of and probably letting them know that I will find another internet service. emoticon

Sunday blues

Did my weigh in and I went up 2 lbs then went down .5 lbs. Its tough but will stick to it. Went over to Mason yesterday and watched grandson play baseball. The sun came out long enough to enjoy it. Then did some shopping and met up with DHs sister and husband for a dinner. Had baked cod, broccili, and streamed rice. Came home just in time before the rains came. Needed the rain and the sun is shining so far this morning.

Next week will be busy, will work 6 hours on Monday, 2 hours on Tuesday and Thursday. Time of year that gals at work have to take off for something or other. I hae turned down some days for must give the back some kind of rest.

Hope the storms missed everyone and you are safe. May the week fill you with blessings and sun shine. emoticon

    Glad you got to see your grandson play his game. I miss being able to enjoy doing that. It's raining here today but I don't mind since I'm too tired from working all night to do anything outside. That 6 hour day tomorrow probably will be a tough one with your back. Be kind to yourself and take some breaks.
Stay focused on your journey and the blues will pass. You are doing so great considering all the health obstacles you are overcoming. You can do this!!!

    We must be on the same "lunar cycle" as I gained 2 pounds this week. This is the first time since the beginning of the year that I have not lost, usually one pound. I will continue my plan and stay positive. I am learning healthier choices etc. so at least my insides are healthier....
Still having email notification problems, but I know it is not SP that's having the problem. Apparently SBCGlobal/Att is blocking emails from SP....I have ATT internet, so I am trying to work this out with them.....I will find a new internet service if I can't get this resolved.....this could take some time. What I am doing now is checking my spark mail, spark page, friend feed to keep up with whats doing on. I'm sure I am missing something/someone, but I'm doing the best that I can.
We had a few storms last night and expecting more today/tonight so I think this will be an indoor type of day. Hope you have a good Sunday and please take care of yourself next week with those extra work hours...... emoticon

Thursday sunshine?

It is cold outside (28) but the sun is shining. Gave the dogs their baths this morning and getting caught up on the washing. Two nights left of bowling, this thursday and next and then the season will be over. Will be glad for it is getting tough to walk up to the line.

Got my final payment out for our trip iin June. Something to look forward to. Just hope the hip and leg is better by then. Trying to figure out what to do next weekend for our 44th anniversary and DHs birthday. Don't want to spend alot of money but would like a get away for us. If it was warmer I would think camping but that doesn't look like it will happen.

I have gained back 2 pounds but they think it is the steriods that I had to take for a week. I hope that is all it is. I was doing so well and hate to see it go bad now. Will see Sunday when I officially weigh in how bad it is. I keep telling myself to not let it get me down and once I can get this hip fixed things will be better. Come on 30th so I can get something done. Course that is only seeing the doctor, so know it will be longer. Why do they make you wait so long. OK enough venting, it doesn't help but get it off my chest. Last night was the worst, I had pain all the way down to my foot so up and taking pain pills again so I could sleep.

Time for happy thoughts. "Too blessed to be stressed, because if I do my best, then God will do the rest."

    What a nice quote. Thanks for sharing that. Sorry you are experiencing so much pain. I'm sure the cold weather doesn't help much. And yes, I'm sure the steroids are responsible for the weight gain. They have that reputation. Don't let that scale mess with your head. You are doing great especially considering all the pain you have to work through. Be proud of yourself and just keep doing the best you can. Enjoy your last couple nights of bowling.
