Goodbye snow storm.

Friday, February 22, 2013

Happy to say my Zumba package finally came and also the clothes I ordered for my trip. We received around 8 inches of snow so been digging out. Actually it is kind of pretty out since we haven't seen to much white. The girls (dogs) think it is fun to run and play in it. Sounds like another wave could hit us on Sunday.
I did some Zumba this morning with my new disk and got in some threadmill. If not cancelled I will go to Zumba tonight for our hour workout. I have one more week to make my goal of 2 pds for February. Then will have to push hard to do at least 3 pds for March so I can hit the weight I want for our Florida trip the end of March.

Hope everyone stayed safe with the storm and will have a good weekend.

Waiting for the big storm

Wednesday, February 20, 2013

The final game for the boys was last night. They fought a hard battle but came up short. So the season is over. We are to get a big snow storm starting tomorrow. Have been watching it and keep hoping it will miss us like before, but have a feeling not this time. Worked yesterday and they were all in a rotten mood so then you start feeling that way. So now I feel down in the dumps and need to get over it. This time of year is always tough on people when you are so ready for good weather and outdoors. Last night was a bad night for sleeping which didn't help my mood. So trying to avoid the kitchen. Threadmill this morning and hopefully Zumba tonight.

I ordered some pants on line and also the Zumba CDs but so far non have arrived. When tracking they say on Friday but with the storm I bet that doesn't happen. The one said it was in Mason(38 miles from here) and on the way here then the next day it was in Kansas. Explain that one to me. Getting frustrated and no I will never order on line again. The post office blames the business and the business blames the post office. I think that is called pasting the buck. The same is in weight lost - when I don't loss, I blame it on not being active enough or being tempted with things in the house or because the guys eat things in front of me. Really it is just failure of will power. The time to get the head back on straight and know i can do this for me. All Good Things Come with Patience and Hard Work!!! So time to get our minds under control and know that we can do this with a little help from our friends. YOU! emoticon emoticon

I like ordering things online. Lands end has great clothes and service. I'm sure the storm backs everything up. If I could get what I want without going online, I would shop locally, but living in a small town has its limitations.

Never pay for overnight mail. They'll claim there was a storm somewhere which delayed it.

Where has Feb. gone.

Sunday, February 17, 2013

I can't believe the month is almost over. This year is flying so fast. I am working hard at eating and excercise and hoping it will pay off by the end of March to meet my goal before our trip. I order some new shorts and capris for our trip and they should come next week sometime. I ordered a size 16 and am positive they will fit for the jeans I have now are 16s. What a great feeling to be 2 sizes smaller. I have been going thru my clothes because of the trip and finding so many are large on me. So the extra large stuff is going into a bag to be given away. Out of sight , out of mind.

I keep seeing so many recipes that look good and I would like to try, but so many have tomatoe products that I can't have. So trying to adjust them but it is just not the same when tomatoes are taken out. Lately I have been so upset about no chocolate and tomatoes and it is not because of the diet but because of the esphagus. How I would love to bite into something like that and not get sick. UGH! Patience and keeping healthy is the goal and not developing cancer.
We went out to eat the other day and I ordered liver and onions. I love that and not sure if it was a good thing to have but did enjoy it so much. My treat to myself.

Onward and upward to a new life of health.

I had a piece of liver cooked in onions today at a country buffet. It was yummy. Maybe you could make a banana pudding with graham crackers instead of vanilla wafers and sugar-free pudding as a treat since you can't have chocolate. I would miss chocolate too. Esophagus trouble can't be ignored.

Its Friday!

Friday, February 15, 2013

It has been a wild week. I ended up working most of it for the crud has hit the cooks at school. Today is a relaxing day but must get on the threadmill for I missed most of the days since I had to go in at 6 am. I did get in Zumba Wednesday night but they have cancelled the rest of the week because she has to be gone. So will have to push myself. We had a ball game last night and the boys won so will move on to the next district game. Grandson did a great job.
Valentine day was good. Kids at school made cupcakes and brought them into the kitchen for us but I resisted. Then I got a text from my husband -"happy valentine day sweetheart, love you, we are one", it melted my heart. Then on top of it when I got home a song came on the radio and he came over to me and pulled me up to dance to a song. That means more to me then any old gift.
We have Spotlight tonight at school. Grandson will be singing. It is just an entertaining night of the kids performing on stage..
Will I better be off to the threadmill. Have a good weekend of health and happiness. Together we will win the fight of unhealthy living and shot "sparks" all over. emoticon

Actually seeing the sun today. Yah!!! The boys won their game last night and will play again on Thursday, which will be a tough one.

Brakes are fixed to the tune of $204, and the shoulder is feeling better. Just had to have it popped back into place. Will go for one more treatment today to be sure it stays in place. I am helping out at school today for my 2 hours and before you know it the day is over again. Time seems to just fly..

I had a surprise the other day from a friend in Zumba. She handed me a bag and her only comment was to pass on the good deeds. So when getting home I opened and found a Zumba outfit of a top and pants. She knew I had been looking at it but waited off for money to get. So now it will be my turn to pass on a good deed to someone. What a beautiful tradition to keep going. So stopping at cabin coffee yesterday I paid for the drink of the lady behind me when I got a Chia Tea for myself.

A happy and healthy day to all. Keep the Spark going. emoticon

Glad to hear your car is fixed - as you wrote last time, this is NOT the time of the year to have questionable brakes!

What a wonderful surprise from your Zumba friend! Acts like that restore my faith in humankind! Enjoy your new gear!

The sun is out here today, too - a little calm before the next storm.
