Monday blizzard

Monday, February 11, 2013

After ice all weekend we got some snow last night and the winds are blowing it around today. 35 to 40 mph winds are not fun. Started having trouble with the brakes on my car so had to run it in this morning. New brake liners are needed but because of the weather they can't get the parts till tomorrow. So have a loaner till then. That money wasn't budgeted in but thats the way it goes. It is nice that I don't stress out like I use to do when things like this hit. Headed to a doctor (chiropractor) in a little while. Bad pain in my shoulder that won't go away so going to see if something needs to be popped. So haven't gotten any workout in yet today, but will try to walk the threadmill when I get back home.

This being stuck in the house for 3 days is driving me crazy and makes me want to head to the kitchen. But being a good girl so far. Did do some trail mix I made of raisins, dries cherries, and nuts to help me stay sane. A basketball game tonight but it depends on the weather. They start districts so if not tonight it will have to be Tuesday for the next game is to be Thursday if they win.

Yeah, cabin fever gives me an appetite as well. Dang. But exercise and motivational work can help a lot! Sorry about your brakes - another "Dang!" Good thing you don't stress out over such stuff as life can really laddle it on sometimes! Hang in there!

Rotten weather.

Sunday, February 10, 2013

No church this morning for it is pure ice out. It started sleeting around 2 am and now rain but ice under it all. Everything is cancelling out. We lost power several times this morning. They are saying it will turn over to snow tonight but we shouldn't get as much as further north of us. Made breakfast for the guys and did an egg mcmuffin for myself. Went in to the threadmill and got in 12 minutes before the power went out again. Trying to caught up on here before it goes again.

Three weeks left of February and I haven't gotten the scale to move at all. But won';t let it get me down. Trying on old clothes and checking out my swimsuit and shorts for when we go to Florida in April. Alot are way to big for me so will have to come up with extra money to get some new.

Glad you are safe in the midst of rough weather. Maybe when you get to Florida you can duck into a target for some shopping. I always wear my bathing suit from lands end, but maybe I'll get small enough to need a new one! LE suits aren't cheap but they fit great and last for years.

Yeah, this is being a weird winter. We had rain all day, washing away the road salt and melting a lot of snow. But we did 't get the freezing rain they predicted. Snow tonight. As for the scale, I have been staying off the dang thing as it either discourages me or makes me get ahead of myself. My job is to eat right and exercise. I love wearing the clothes that fit! I just keep on tracking food and exercising! I suggest you put it away. For a while. As an experiment! The non-scale measures are BETTER!

I'm glad you are home safe, from what I've seen on the news here it's been pretty bad for parts of the States and Canada. Keep warm!

Friday joys

Friday, February 08, 2013

Friday, and all is going well. Worked today at school for the morning shift. DH is sick with a bad cold so will have no [plans for the weekend. The boys basketball team won last night and now will get ready for Districts to start on Monday. So another busy week to come. The girls team will play Saturday in Osage for their first round. Depends on weather and how DH feels if we go or not. They are talking freezing rain for the weekend. Ugh!

Since no games tonight I might make it to a extra Zumba class tonight. I think pizza is on the menu for the guys tonight and I will do a lean crusine meal. Have a great weekend everyone and be careful if you are in the bad weather zones.

Good job by the boys on making it to district finals!

I hope that freezing rain doesn't last long, better yet that it completely misses you guys. Have a great weekend and stay safe.

Gloomy weather here, but not storms. I went to grocery without a jacket so can't complain! Hope you are safely tucked in during the freezing rain.

Hump day

Wednesday, February 06, 2013

Many years ago we bought a bath tub with jets in it. When I came home from working the other day, my DH told me to go to the bathroom. He had filled the tub and had the jets running. Told me to relax and enjoy. What a great guy. It sure comes in handy for those tired bones. We bought it many years ago when I worked at the newspaper and threw mail bags around and other heavy stuff. It was a life saver although my back is paying for it now in my later life.

Watching what I eat very close. I have sent for the Zumba pack so I can try to work out more at home other then the threadmill and ball. I need to push if I want to make my goal. I have also bought up some almonds, raisins, and dried cherries to make a mix to take to games with me. That way I leave the popcorn alone and other goodies. I still hit certain days that I get the snacking urge but try to push it out by brushing my teeth often. That sometimes works.

Jet tubs are awesome, I wish I had one. What a great hubby to take such good care of you, so sweet.
You'll get to goal, I love the saying "this is a marathon not a sprint" and say it too myself quite often when I wish things were going faster. You're doing awesome and I know you'll get there.

We have a tub too but I haven't used it in many eons. It takes too much water to fill it up. Might try it again though.

Up early for we are taking care of the great-grandson for 2 days while his regular babysitter is sick. I have to go into work for 6 hours for they are sick there also with the sinus infection that is going around. So grandpa will have him this morning. It should be an easy day for I just have to run the computer most of the day.

I have watching what I eat and charting this week. Threadmill when I have time and of course Zumba on Sunday and Wednesday. I still have trouble getting in enough calories but will keep working on it.

You'll be busy for a couple of days, but time with your great grandson will be joyful, even if exhausting lol.
Have a fabulous week!
