Hump day

Wednesday, December 05, 2012

Test went ok yesterday. Just tired out now. I will not no the results for about two weeks. They said it looked better and took some samples to check over. It just zipted my energy. Hopefully later today I will feel better. Then on top of it, I got a call last night that a friend of mine thru bowling passed away yesterday morning. So another funeral coming up in a few days. So far a stressed December.

I must get out and get some shopping done. So hoping I feel better tonight and can do some. Not much to write today or else my mind isn't working right yet from the drugs, so will stop here and caught up more later in the week. emoticon

The meds they give you to relax for the test are pretty heavy duty, so rest and let them get out of your system. I'm so very sorry to hear about your bowling friend passing.

Test today

Tuesday, December 04, 2012

I will leave soon to go have my gasroscopy today. No eating or drinking after midnight last night. They will run the scope down my throat to check my esaphagus and stomach to be sure cancer is not developing. It usually puts me down few a day so will let you know how it goes in a few days. If they do any biopsy it will take a couple of weeks for that result. But I am not too worried for things have been going well and I haven't had any bad sickness since watching everything I eat so close.

We decided to buy a real Christmas tree this year instead of the little articfial one I usually put up. It is about 4 feet tall and really full. It does look so nice. So all decorations are up now. Just need to get out and get some gifts bought to put under it. We still have no snow and it has been in the 50s. What astrange winter so far. Not that I really want the snow but we need the moisture so bad around here.

No excercise today but will get back on it tomorrow I hope. Feels strange when I am so use to getting on the threadmill every morning. Just shows how it is in my routine now.

I hope all went well with your gastroscopy today and that the results were/will be all good. I'm glad your treadmill has become routine and is feeling a bit missed this morning. It is hard to miss once your body gets use to that morning exercise.

Have a great evening.

New month, new you

Saturday, December 01, 2012

It is December. A year of another year older but in better shape. Glad you enjoyed yesterday blog. I found it and couldn't resist adding it on here. Tara, I think I could actually be able to put foot in mouth now since lossing.

December is a challenge but I know we can all do it. I will do some baking for the family but find that the sweets are not bothering me as much this year. Course not being able to eat chocolate has helped alot. I see it and am tempted but know I would be sick afterwards so it stops me cold in my tracks. On Tuesday I will go in for a gastroscopy in which they will take samples to check over to be sure that my esophagus is still clear of cancer. I don't like the idea of doing this, but it is to be safe. Better then having to have surgery on it. So hoping for the best. I am not too worried for I have watched things very close on eating and haven't had any episodes of acid in the throat and throwing up. Feel better saying this out loud to someone, so thanks for listening.

Its december, time to "lighten up" both healthy wise and mind wise. I haven't even done any Christmas shopping yet. Course we have decide not to buy alot this year. Grandkids are all getting so big it is hard to find things for them. Looks like money and a few little things. We adults just like to get together so don't worry about gifts, we are the gift to each other. We are [planning to go out to our daughters for 3 days (11,12,13) for the kids both have concerts for their bands. So far the weather is still good so we can do it.

I was headed uptown on Thursday night, came to a stop sign by some apartments and glad I had to stop for here came three deer walking down the street and turned in front of me. What a shock, right in town. They say they are out looking for water for everything is so dried up around here. I don't really like snow that much, but boy do we need it bad to get some moisture in the ground.

Have a holly jolly Christmas!! Make the month a productive one but remember the reason for the season and put Christ in it also. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Really? You must be doing yoga to get your foot into your mouth, I'm most impressed! hehe.

I'm glad you're getting in for a gastroscopy, always best to keep an eye on these things. We see deer in the city quite often, although it is less than it use to be; they are such beautiful creatures. But it's never a good thing when they run out in front of cars, so I'm glad you were at a stop.

I look forward to hearing about the grandkids concerts, I hope you have good weather for traveling back and forth. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

My Excercise Program

Friday, November 30, 2012

The doctor told me "Physical excercise is good for you". I know that I should do it, since my body is so out of shape. So I have worked out this easy program I can do anywhere.

Monday:
Beat around the bush
Push my luck
Climg the walls
Wade thru paper work

Tuesday:
Drag my heels
Jump to conclusions
Make mountains out of mole hills
Hit the nail on the head

Wednesday:
Bend over backwards
Jump on the bandwagon
Balance the books
Run around in circles

Thursday:
Toot my horn
Climb the ladder of success
Pull out the stops
Add fuel to the fire

Friday:
Open a can of worms
Put my foot in my mouth
Start the ball rolling
Go over the edge

Saturday:
Pick up the pieces

Whew!! What a workout! You are invited to use my workout without charge!

Enjoy

Questions

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

Taking this from Tara. I think it is a good idea to look at yourself.

When did you start gaining weight?
I was very active as a young person. Went to dances several times a week and always took the stairs ar work. Then getting married things slowed down abit. I guess my wieght gain started when I had my children.

My highest weight?
My highest weight was this year when I hit 214. Laziness and age really takes a hold on you.

What diets I have been on?
I have done weight watchers for awhile and other stupid things like a liquid protein diet. I loston this but also turned orange from the waist up because of too much vitiamin C in my body. That was a scare. I went to Diet Center and lost all the way to 140 (where the charts say I should be). I was sick all the time and went to the doctor who said he didn't care what the chart says it was too small for me. So gained back. When my back started getting bad is when I new i had to do something to avoid surgery. That and esophgus problems. So feeling better now.

My goal?
I will be happy to get to 160. But as long as I feel good and the health improves that is the main goal.

Favorite foods?
I am a terrible sweet eater. I love chocolate. With my esophgus I can't have chocolate now or I get sick. So that has helped. I just generally like all kinds of foods for we were raised that way.

My rewards for accomplishments?
New clothes, shopping in smaller departs in the stores. Thinking about me and not worring about other people so much. Feeling healthy and able to move again.

My favorite body part?
Can't really say I have one. My hubby calls me no butt, because it is so flat. Wish the rest of me was that way. The hair is white and thin. I guess if I had to pick one it would be my smile.

Losing weight has always been hard for me. It is just getting the head on straight and no you can do it. Not letting other people influence you or tell you it is ok to indulge in eating things once in awhile. They don't understand if you start you might not be able to stop. That is a bad trait of food addiction.

I hope to be able to look back on this in a year and know I have gained strenght and wisdom.

I like reading blogs like this because I get to know you a little better. I guess my fave part of my body is my hair. I am a natural blonde and haven't gone gray (yet). I used to like my legs, but they are kind of unattractive now. I like my eyes too--blue. I would like to like my tummy, but ever since my c-sections it has developed a shelf of fat. Not pretty!

My fave food is chocolate...no..pizza..no watermelon..I couldn't choose just one food. I probably eat chicken and pasta the most frequently.
