Monday night

Monday, November 12, 2012

We made it back home late this afternoon. Had a great trip except for the snow we ran into around LaCrosse, Wis. Hated seeing that already. Here at home there were just snow flurries.

The play was really good and grandson did an awesome job. In fact my daughter and I went to Friday and Saturday night performances. On Saturday he marched with his band in a Christmas parade, at least that was a warm day. Should be done running now till in December when they have their band concerts. Sierras is Wed. and Mareks is Thursday so whould be able to see both unless the weather holds us at home. Kim has to work the day after Thanksgiving so they will not be home for Thanksgiving but should make it for Christmas.

Tomorrow I will step on the scale to see how I made out. I was very careful on my eating and did get on their threadmill 3 of the mornings. So feel I was good. Hope the scale says that but then if not I know I was good so no sweat.

Will catch up with all tomorrow when I am refreshed.

Welcome home! It seems like lots of people are seeing snow early this year; I hope that doesn't mean we're in for a long cold winter. Sounds like you guys had a nice trip and what a treat to get to see your grandson in a play and in the band in one visit.

Have a nice evening, always feels good to get back to your own bed.

Thursday trip

Thursday, November 08, 2012

Well I am up early and need to get ready for our trip. We head for Wisconsin today to see the daughter and family. Looking forward to the play and Christmas parade he is in. It has been an active week. As ususal someone was sick at school and I subed alot for them. But today someone will have to take over for me. One nice thing about retirement, all I have to say is can't and won't be here till next week and they can't do a thing about it. LOL.

I was thrilled to find myself weighing in this morning and am finally in the 170s. The scale read 178.5. Now to just keep it off and more while out there. Body is sore today from Zumba last night, but that is a good kind of sore.

Monday when we get back home, I found that my drivers license expire in December, so will have to go get it renewed. Basketball wil be starting for the high school with the first game on the 30th. Grandson will be on the varsity team. He is a sophmore. So will be an exciting season for us. Son coaches the girls team and they play double headers so will be able to watch both. That will keep the winter busy, look forward to it.

Don' t know if I will be able to get on while out there but will try .If not I hope all my emoticon keep working hard and have a good rest of the week.

I love watching my son play soccer. Lately he's been on two teams and there have been many games crowding up my week. Also fast food after--yikes! It will be a while before I can join you in One-derland!

Wonderful weekend.

Sunday, November 04, 2012

Friday night the musical of Music Man at school was terrific as usual. Some kids are so talented. They did an awesome job and I am anixous to now go seemy grandson in Wisconsin in his. They hold theirs two weekends and DD said they went on Friday and it is a great musical.

Saturday I worked all day at the bazaar at church. It was suppose to be for only a few hours but I ended up staying the whole five hours, for we were busy. The baked goods and crafts went over well. Coffee and rolls in the morning and then our usual Chicken gravy over bisquits for lunch. Also made up some maidrites for those that don't like the gravy. In church this morning they annouced that we made over $5000. That will go for things at the church and also add to the new addition we have put on with an elevator to get to the upstairs. Many complaiments on the addition on how nice it looks. Now we are working on Thanksgiving baskets. Next Friday is Holiday affair at the church with wagon rides, music and cookie walk. Sorry we will not be there since we head for Wisconsin on Thursday.

A quick week ahead since we leave Thursday. Thanksgiiving is just around the corner, not sure if kids will make it home or not. This time of year just seems to fly by.

December is always a packed month. It means I get older.(birthday) There are some blue moments for me at times because that is when my Mother and grandmother had both passed on. When I make it thru the month I think another year, good for me.

I had to look up Maidrites, I'd never heard of them before. There seems to be several versions, but all have a base of hamburger and onion; lots add sugar which I thought would make it sweet, but perhaps not.

I'm glad you enjoyed Musicman and hope you'll have a great trip to Wisconsin on Thursday and enjoy your other grandson's performance.

My mom passed away in December also, December was her favorite month as it was her birthday then has made December a sad month, but I try to remember the good stuff to help me through it. Perhaps we can be here for each other during that time and celebrate your birthday. When in December is your birthday?

Travel safe, my friend, and have a great visit.

Weekend fun

Friday, November 02, 2012

Well, here it is Friday again. Going into church to help mark things for the bazaar which is Saturday. Will work for a few hours that day also to help out. We sell crafts and have a meal of chicken/biscuits or maidrites. Usually make good money to help with other projects around the church. The new elevator is up and running now so our older people can now make it up stairs for the service. It will be dedciated next Sunday. So much excitement at the church.

Our school is having their fall musical also this weekend, and have tickets to go tonight. Music Man is what they are doing this year.

Next week we head to Wisconsin on Thursday. The grandson out there is in their fall musical, so will be going to it and a Christmas parade in Hartford that his band is marching in. Then home on Monday.

Got my letter to schedule another gastroscopy. Not happy about it but better then cancer which is what we are trying to avoid. So made appt. for Dec. 4th. Discovered my drivers license expire in December so will have to go get that done also.

Have a fun weekend all. emoticon Eat healthy and stay motivated.

Went out to eat last night

Saturday, October 27, 2012

Went out to eat last night with hubbies sister and husband. A nice salad and a chicken breast with mushrooms/moz cheese on top. Very good. Brought home 1/2 of it for a meal today. The sun is shining today and it is now up to 32. Very crisp outside but with the sun shining, I put on a hooded sweatshirt and did my walk outside. About 1 1/2 miles.

Got a letter in the mail saying it is time for my gastroscopy and to set an appointment. Not liking this but better do it. Hate it but then will know how my esphagus is doing and avoiding that big C. Been doing good since watching what i eat. Do miss my tomatoes products out of everything, the most. So much is made with tomatoes that it is hard to find variety in foods. Then I also have to cook 2 meals - one for the guys and one for me. I am lucky for I have a great guy that will cook his own and tells me not to worry about him. But when I see their koulash or pizza my mouth waters. emoticon Happy Halloween to all.

Dinner last night sounds lovely and I'm so glad you were able to get outside for a walk today; I know you prefer walking outside to the treadmill.

I think I'd die if I couldn't eat tomatoes, they are one of my favorite things. I hope the gastroscopy goes well. Have a great weekend!
