Cold Friday

The cold has hit. Only 34 today. Have a funeral of a friends husband today and then just plan to cuddle up where it is warm. This morning I have been busy making stuff for the freezer. A big batch of chili for the boys and some gloulash that they love. Then for myself I did some chicken chuncks with white sauce and WG noodles and also chicken with WG rice/ broccili and carrots. So hope that will help keep me on track when I can just reach into the freezer and its there. Must think of more things I get cook for the freezer to help me out. I also brought home bananas from school that were really ripe and put them in blender with just alittle yogurt then put in cups to freeze. Makes a very good "ice cream" to eat once in awhile.
Themorning is going fast so won't get on the threadmill till after the funeral, but will push myself to get there. A quiet weekend ahead for me. So enjoy all. If you have any good freezing recipes please post for me. emoticon emoticon

    I am sorry about your friend's loss! I hope the funeral turned out ok. The frozen banana yogurt sounds tasty! Maybe not as nice as soup to stay cozy warm, though. Cool idea to use over-ripe bananas.

    I'm sorry for your loss and hope you and your friend and her family are comforted by being surrounded by friends today.

I love preparing things for in the freezer. I do a lot of stocks, premade meatballs (extra lean beef or chicken/turkey), tomato sauce that I use for lots of recipes. I do the same sort of thing with bananas, some times I'll also add frozen berries to the mix for added flavor.

hump day

It has been a busy week. Called in to work Monday from 6am to noon then went to volleyball game that night. Then again on Tuesday I went in at 7 to 9am then went back at 11 to 2 to run the computer for them. Last night was the fall vocal concert to go to for grandson. This morning I have a dentist appolntment and must pick up a few groceries then tonight we head out to Sheldon Iowa for football playoffs. About a 3 hour drive. Meaning a very late night. Thursday will be my usual 2 hours at elementary and bowling that night. So far the weekend should be quiet., but you never know. With all the running I have not been eating right or getting in my excercise. So this morning I am kicking myself as usual for glossing site of my goal. Why can't I get my head on straight again. At least I am not gaining. They say it is harder to loss at an older age and I am really beginning to understand that. All I can ask is Dear God help me get back on the right track and get control of my brain to keep getting healthy. emoticon

    Gently, gently! I sure know all about kicking myself and I know it backfires fast! Takes it out of you and puts nothing back.     Don't beat yourself up, you're doing great. It is harder now that we are older, I'm feeling that to. All any of us can do is our best and when we've not done our best we work on improving it the next meal or next day. If you are feeling like you've lost motivation perhaps revisit your goals, write them down, update them, set some new short term goals, visit some of the success stories to look for helpful tips and help you get excited again about this journey. With the colder months coming I'm finding I am wanting to curl up with a book instead of exercise, so I spend time every day going over my goals and motivating myself to keep going.
I'm pretty sure you and I are not the only ones dealing with this right now, so I know we can get past it and keep working towards our goals...let's do it!!

Well the boys lost their game last night 7 - 0. It was a good game but now means we have to travel for 3 hours for the next game. It was chilly but with boots and winter coat plus hand warmers and a back warmer, it was fine.

Woke this morning with my back really hurting. Have sat on heat pad for several hours and then decided walking the threadmillmight lossen it up. Got in 17 minutes so will see how it feels after a while. Making homemade beef soup for later today. It is in the 40s and very hazy out. Glad there is nothing going on today.

Our plans to stop and see Mel Tillis on the way home from daughters has been shot down. They had no seats left for sitting together. Oh well something else will come up for us I am sure. We found out that when we go out for his play that he is also marching in a Christmas parade so will get to see him peform again. Looking forward to that.

Eating has improved and threadmill has been good for 5 days now. I will succeed and meet my next goal by December.

Things are getting better

The back is doing better since my fall. Have got some mottvation back and been on the threadmill 3 mornings in a row now and also got to Zumba last night. It helps to start feeling good and want to work again on my health. The cool weather is back again and rain. But I am perked up today. Will go do my 2 hours at school and then finish cleaning up the house. Big football game tomorrow night for the high school boys. I hope it at least doesn't rain, I can dress for the cold.

We are planning on going out to the daughters for Grandsons play the second weekend in November. Then thniking of stopping in the Dells on the way home if I can get tickets for the Mel Tillis show. Just a nice relaxing 3-4 days.

Busy times

I got called in on Monday and worked a full day so was very tired last night for I am not use to working all day. The next three I am doing 2 hours and helping serve the little ones at Elementary. Hubby wonders why I retired as much as I have been going in lately but it keeps me busy. The weather has been beautiful these last few days. The 70s today so need to get out and walk. I did do the threadmill this morning for 20 min. so i am trying to get back on the right track again. I have been very sore in my back since my fall but just need to get moving to loosen up again.

Trying to plan a small get-a-away to regenerize us again for the winter months. Just not sure where or when. It seems like you get into a routine and then when boredom sets in is when I start to slip. So it is time to change things up abit to get myself going on the right road again. I just want to hit the 170s by my birthday in December. The 180s have been driving me crazy for 2 months now. I am repeating "I will do this, I will do this.: Let know one get in my way of success.

    I'm sorry to hear your back is giving you grief since you took that tumble, I hope it gets to feeling better soon. We were lucky the last couple of days with great weather so I could walk outside also yay! But it's getting colder again starting today and down to zero on the weekend brrrrrr! Thank goodness treadmill comes today.

I love the idea of having a getaway to energize and to help ward off the boredom. You're going to get past those 180s!! You WILL!!

    sounds like you miss working but its nice to able to say no when you don't want to go in and doing short shifts is easier as well. Glad you are having nice weather and walking . have fun on you mini trip and share with the team what you decide to do
