Homecoming week.

Friday, October 12, 2012

This is homecoming week. Today is the parade at 2 then the big game at 7. The weather isn't too bad but storms are perdicted for Saturday. So hope it all holds off till late tonight so we can enjoy the game.

I worked yesterday and then did my bowling last night. A nightmare that I have sometimes came true last night. In the third frame of the first game I tripped and went head first down the lane. It was embarrasing to say the least. I was helped up and was able to finish the night. Back was sore this morning, so sat in the hot tub to lossen up. It happened so fast I am not sure what caused it. Oh well, I least I got up and don't seem the worst for wear.

I hope everyones weekend will be a good one. No big plans here. Next week I will be working Tues. / Wed/ Thursday, for one of the girls will be gone. Then my boss asked if I would go to a food show with her on Sunday/Monday. I use to go to them and she knows I enjoy it, so asked if I would drive the school van for her. We take a couple of home ec kids with us. It should be a nice time.

Oh my, I'm so glad you did not seriously hurt yourself when you fell. Thank goodness for hot tubs!

You sure have a busy few days ahead of you, but sounds like lots of fun at the same time, so enjoy!!

Another week

Friday, October 05, 2012

Made it thru another week. Football game tonight and it will be a cold one, so checking what to wear to keep warm.
It has been a tough week for eating. I keep wanting to snack bad. I did bowl twice this week and got in some threadmill time. Stepped on the scale and I did gain 2 pounds back but then I have been bouncing around from 180 to 183 for quit a long time now. I understand now when they say the older you get the harder to drop weight. Did my physical on Monday and a Mamogram on Wednesday. Waiting for results. I was down in the dumps for a few days for I was hoping that my blood pressure would be down and I could get off pills, but no such luck. Then my back has started to act up again. I am going to fight thru it this time for I do not want back surgery. Now, I have gotten all that off my chest and will move forward. There are many more out there that are worst off then me and I am thankful for what health I have and what I have lost.

Hey, it is so much better to bounce around in that narrow little range than be 'way UP. I sure hope your back trouble gets better. I understand the urges to snack. I am trying to hang tough on some of that this very minute, focusing on how nice dinner was and how important my goals are to me!!! And chewing gum! Hang in there. We can do this!

You and me both with those silly 2 pounds!! Did the blood pressure drop at all? I know so many things play into blood pressure that it's hard to go based on one test to say what your pressure is daily. I've actually been thinking about getting one of the machines you can use at home to help keep track of dad's pressure but also could start watching mine. I am sorry to hear your back is giving you grief, that's one of those pains that just seems to make everything more difficult. I think I saw some back strengthening exercises here on spark; I don't know if you have an injury or a back that just acts up from time to time, so you may want to check out any exercises before trying them, but could be worth a look.

I love the positive end of your blog, we are blessed in so many ways and I to am very thankful. Monday is Thanksgiving day here in Canada so I've been thinking a lot about what I am thankful for. Your friendship is definitely on the list!

A busy week ahead

Tuesday, October 02, 2012

We got home from Wisconsin on Monday night. All is going well there. Grandson was able to preform in band and back to play practice, but will miss the last games of soccer for they want him to not get hit again.

Doctors appt. went ok. Wanted to hear more good news then what I got but overall healthy. Will get results of blood work sometime later. Had a funeral today of a friends father, he was 90, a music teacher in his day and they said the morning he passed that he was singing How Great Tho Art when they walked into his room and alittle while later was quiet. How special. Tomorrow I will sub at bowling for a girl that went on a trip then have to go back to Mason for a Mamogram. I have to get a cake made for Saturday for a birthday party for a good friend turning 60.

Beautiful colors this year, God was really painting this year.

Grandson in band uniform.

You do have a busy week. I'm glad your grandson is going to miss the last of soccer, I know he must be disappointed but last thing he needs is another hit. Thank you for sharing the pictures; I just love those gorgeous fall colors and your grandson looks very handsome in his band uniform.

The colors are so awesome this year. Took pictures that I will try to post when we get home. Grandson was able to join his band at half time of football game. Did well for being out for two weeks. Was good to see him back in things and doing well. He will get back to rehearsals to the fall play this coming week. Better get shower for we will be doing some running

Monday we get home and I have doctor appt. So will have to not stop anywhere to make good time.

It's still too hot here to have fall colors. Probably go right into winter.

Ready to travel

Thursday, September 27, 2012

I will be working today at the school for 2 hours and then we will head out for Wisconsin. Grandson did call yesterday and the headackes are better so things are improving for him.

Got my new jeans on and ready to travel. Yesterday I walked for 3 miles and then went to Zumba last night so got in lots of excercise to make up for missing out because of work the other days.

I am hoping the colors are really nice for our trip today. We should make it to Slinger about 7:30 tonight. It is always colorful around the Dells.

A weekend of many blessing to you all. Hope you stay on track and enjoy a weekend of fun and health. emoticon emoticon
