Another nice day

Wednesday, July 11, 2012

It is beautiful out again today. Got in a mile walk yesterday and plan to get out yet today to do another. The baseball team played last night and won, so one more game on Saturday and if we can win that one it will be sub state. Thanks for all the cheers. emoticon
My grandson texted me after the game wanting to know when we are picking up my other 2 grandkids to spend a week. Told him Sunday and his comment was good. Found out he was worried we wouldn't be here for Saturday nite game. How sweet.

Sunday we will meet my daughter and get her two so they can spend a week with us. They are 16 and 10. They always like to spend some time with us. Hope to take them shopping to get school clothes so their Mom won't have to worry about it. It will be a great week to do many things with them. Grandkids are the best.

They have a Zumba class in town and doing our Puckerbrush Days we have this weekend, they are going to do a quick class on main street Thursday night and said come join to see if I would like it. So will check it out. Lots of things going on from Thursday night to Sunday night for our town celebration. Will get to the parade but will miss the fireworks Saturday night because of the ball game, unless the game goes quick and we can make it down to the river in time. I will be making pies for our church ice cream and pie social we will have on Saturday. Then WIT rally will also be moving in. That is the motor homes (Winnebagos) that we build here in Forest City, and they gather every year for a week on the rally grounds. I worked it (cooking) for over 12 years but stopped two years ago. It is a good time and they learn alot on their units. Hubby worked for Winnebago for 38 years.

I better quit my rambling on about things and get busy. First the mile walk then cleaning house. We will do this! We will succeed to our goals of being happy with ourselves.

I to wonder what Puckerbrush Days are, but it does sound like a good time! I'm curious about what you think of Zumba, I've thought about giving it a try myself since I love to dance, so please let us know how the experience is.

Yay for the ball team! And yay for time with the grandkids, I can't wait until I'm a grandma! Sounds like you have a week full of activities, have a great time!

Over doing

Tuesday, July 10, 2012

It is so nice to have cooler weather. Yesterday morning I had my circle meeting and when hubby went golfing decided a good walk would be in order. I left the house and walked uptown. I walked to the post office for stamps and it was a line up so I decided to walk to the highway to the grocery store where I could get stamps also. There I got my stamps and sat and had some ice tea to cool off some. Then I headed for the park and trail that goes around the golf course. When I got to the back, hubby was coming up on hole 18. He had me get in the cart to finish his round. We went into the club house and I had a large glass of water. So coming home I found that my legs were tired and my back giving out. We figured I walked about 4 miles. After done here I plan on getting in some more walking but will keep it to a mile this morning.

The ball team plays their second district game tonight. It would be nice if they won that one too. The grandson, as a freshman, was picked on first team all conference. Two more games to get to substate and if they can win that it would mean state. But as my son says, one goal at a time. emoticon

emoticon I will conquer.

Good job! Amazing how far you can end up walking when you are focused on something other than the walking emoticon

Good luck to your grandson's team! emoticon

Boy Mom YOU have a very smart goal at a time. Will be cheering for the team tonight (from my little corner of the world) GO TEAM!
I like that you felt well enough to get that walk in.......too aggressive (?) maybe, but you did do it and now you know the way maybe to build up to that 4 mile marker.
Do enjoy your day and let's make healthy choices together today.

Cooler weather

Saturday, July 07, 2012

Hurrah! Cooler weather has come. The 80s feel so good. I got out at 7 am today and walked 2 miles. That along maked you feel better. I am getting myself back into a good frame of mind and will try to eat healthy again. Just shows the weather has a big impact on how you feel and what you eat.

I know I will not make my 180 by the end of this month but I will work hard to get some off. I will pep talk myself into doing well. My plan is to set the goal of getting into the 170s by the end of August and if I can make it then will treat myself to a 2 day boat ride on the Mississippi. Have been looking at it on the internet and it looks like fun. So now I have a plan in place and will work to get there.

Make your goal and let see if we can fulfill them.

Couldn't agree with you more about the "cooler" weather. Who would have thought (back in November) that we would feel coot at 80 degrees. Guess anything is possible. Just like your goal of 170.....YOU can do it especially with a 2 day boat ride dangling in front of you to keep you going. Have a good weekend and let's make healthy choices together. emoticon emoticon

A battle but I need to win

Thursday, July 05, 2012

I have been struggling to get myself back on track. Too much running around and the heat and humidity is just getting to me. I am doing spotty eating and probably not enough excercise. I will be making another goal for this month and hope that will make me get back into the right frame of mind. I will be having my grandkids from Wisconsin coming to spend a week with us in a few weeks. So will have to make plans to keep them entertained. Hopefully will get to take them camping if the weather cools off.

The mind can play trick on you so bad. Old habits are hard to break and the mind can play so many tricks on you to make you think it is ok. So I need to slap myself in the face and get moving again.

Now that I have that off my chest, I will have to listen to myself and get going. God give me the strenght to get back on track and beat this disease of the body. I will prevail with your help. Amen. emoticon emoticon

Boy I sure do agree with "the mind can play tricks on you"....I have found on this journey, after awhile I was no longer being plagued with "hunger" but rather "wants/cravings"....for me this was all in my with the heat old habits really are plaguing things to eat and cream and lemonade (made with real sugar).....too hot to do any real cooking so there are burgers/dogs/Italian sausages.....I am fighting these demons/old habits and it is a daily battle.....keeping busy. emoticon we WILL do it emoticon along one day at a time.
I like your prayer...short simple and to the point. Hang in can't stay this hot for ever.....can it? emoticon

I love having a place like this that gives us a place to vent our frustrations. emoticon
I know you will find your stride again and get back on the path to your healthy goals. Just the fact that you are acknowledging the issues you are having shows your desire and strength to do it.

Cloudy this morning

Tuesday, July 03, 2012

Cloudy this morning but doubt we will get rain. It is to be in the 90s again today with high heat index. So proud of our boys last night. They beat the number 1 team and now share the NIC conference. One more game today at 1 to finish the season. Saturday will start district play.

The scale says I am back to where I was before leaving on vacation. emoticon

emoticon emoticon Happy 4th to all. Be careful and be safe.
