Another week

Tuesday, May 29, 2012

Another week has started, even if it is Tuesday. Cleaned house this morning and mowed half the yard to relieve DH. Yesterday I took a walk and went about 3 miles. Today I hope to walk later in the afternoon since has cooled off alot. DH has golf league in the afternoon on Tuesdays so it is a good time to do my own thing. Plan on salmon to eat today.

Thanks for the pep talk. I am finding the older you get and harder it is to take weight off. I have ordered a new dress (which I don't own many of) and a couple of tops which should show up later this week. Decide that is my gift for getting to where I am now. Normally don't order on line but decided I would try it. If they don't fit real well then I will have a goal to reach to get into them. My shorts are really lose but I wear a belt to keep them up right now. Will wait till our trip is closer to see if I need to get some better fitting ones. DH did make me buy some new capri's for walking in and they are so comfortable. I like the soft thin material they are made of.

Memorial Day

Monday, May 28, 2012

First of all my thanks to all our service men out there. It has been a windy and rainy weekend but all are still enjoying. We went over to Clear Lake yesterday and enjoyed watching the people and water. Then went to the store and got me some more healthy foods and the guys some things they wanted.

I talked to a trainer and he said I should be taking a muti-vitamin to help my body with my losing. So got some to start taking today. I did my treadmill this morning and also working out on my ball that I got a few years back to help with my back. I know I have to do more to get rid of that mid fat. I have been stuck at 189 for 2 weeks now so don't want to get frustrated. I am hoping to see 180 before our trip starting June 23rd. I hope that isn't a out of site goal.

Enjoy your day everyone. We are cooking out and then I think since the sun is shining I will go walking. emoticon emoticon

YOU will reach that 180 mark....sticking with the plan or having to tweak it when ever needed....YOU can do this. Glad to hear you are going to use the ball for your back...
For some of us the mid fat is the hardest to get rid of and I don't know of any magic exercise that will get rid of it....I do know that exercise will help to tone it up a bit...
The last time I lost over 20 pounds my middle did go away......this time it is just hanging in there, not wanting to hit the road. Sigh! We are going to have 90 degree weather today with storms coming through mid afternoon through early eve and I don't know if we will grill or not, but am ready for anything.
Also need to finish some laundry....and maybe just relax....treating today like a Sunday rather than a Monday...Enjoy your day and take care. emoticon

You just keep on with your fitness routine and add whatever makes sense to enhance your health - the weight will come off! Nothing wrong with hoping for 180 ... I always figure my body is gonna lose however it is gonna lose. My job is to stick with the program carefully and maintain my positive attitude! So hang in there and enjoy the journey!

Oh my gosh, where did the week go.

Thursday, May 24, 2012

Before I k new it the week is almost gone. May is also coming to an end. Memorial Weekend is upon us. Was going to campb but grounds filled up fast so guess we will stay around here. Grandson plays ball anyway so will watch him. As a freshman he is playing varsity ball. Tuesday night he hit in the winning run so it will be an exciting season.

I found an article on willpower. It says that you should say " I don't want it" rather than "I can't have it". Saying " can't" makes you feel deprived and weakens your defense. Saying "don't" makes you feel in control and helps you stick to your goals. Also say pre-workout snacks to help melt more fat are peanuts, yogurt or celery about two hours before working out will boost your fat-burning capacity. Will have to try this. By decreasing blood-sugar levels you force your body to use its fat stores for energy.

Beautiful is what you are. Some kinds of beauty fade. But not the kind that lights you up from the inside. The kind that lasts. The kind that you don't need makeup to create. The kind thats 100 percent authentic. So smile at the face in the mirror. Thats a true beauty : YOU.

Have a safe and fun Memorial weekend!

Well, we made it home from Wisconsin. When we left thee it was in the 80s and so nice, then when we got to Minnesota the winds got strong. We stopped in Austin, MN for a quick stop and when I got out of the car I thought I was going to freeze. What a change. Guess it is to be in the 70s most of the week so I can handle that. Working the next two days for my usual 2 hours and then will be done for school ends after Memorial weekend. They are going to hae some summer programs which I might help out off and on when we are around.

Don't know where May has gone. Around this time next month we will be taking a motorcoach trip to Nashville. Looking forward to that and being able to just sit back and enjoy instead of driving. Wednesday I call the back doctor to say how I am doing with my pain. It has been good and only have brief times when it hurts. So will see what he says.

I feel like I did pretty good while away. Cheated at the ball game and had a Margrietta and some ice cream. I will see tomorrow when I step on the scale if I did bad or not.

Welcome home! I'm sure you did some extra walking that offset some out of the ordinary food choices. Hope you had a fantastic time at the ball game!

So tired of the wind.

Friday, May 18, 2012

The sun has shined but the wind has also been blowing bad. They say high 80s to 90 today but also very windy again. I have my windows open and the dirt on everything is terrible. We will be taking off tonight to go out to Wisconsin for the weekend. It will be a late night for we can't leave till the boys get out of practice, so won't get going till after 6 pm.

The weight is staying the same but with the big loss I had last week I expected it. All I am hoping for is to be close to 180 by the end of June when we take our trip. That is a goal for me right now. One goal at a time to be reached will get me to my ending goal of success.

Have a fantistic weekend all.

Glad your coming back to Wisconsin.....I know what you mean about the wind....had to close my windows for the same reason. Getting some planting done again today than won't be able to get the hanging plants out there until next week sometime.....but that's OK my body is telling me to TAKE MY I will be listening this time.
I agree with one goal at a time ....... this can only lead to success.
Hope your day goes well and you have a fantastic weekend. emoticon
