Life can be good.

Wednesday, May 16, 2012

Looks like another sunny day. Back seems to be getting better and I will start trying to walk more. School is coming to an end in 10 days and the baseball season will begin for the boys. Grandsonwill be very busy and son too. Grandson plays shortstop and son is a coach.

I have read a 19 year old blog and my heart goes out to her. It is so hard at that age to not get down on yourself. Most of us have been there. As you age you find that life has its ups and downs. It takes alot to get the brain to know what is right for you. I have gained and lost so many times in different stages of my life. I now find it is a good time for me. I am happy, content, and busy. I think I have taken control of my life. I have a sister that can hardly get around, alot because of her weight, so I know that I will keep myself active and loss the excess weight. I have learned also to go to where I feel good but not to small. In my 40s I went down to 140 like the charts say and ended up sick all the time. The doctor said it was too low for me and I started eating wrong again and gained it all back plus. So that is why I think if I can get to 160 I will be content.

May all your journeys be successful and you take life one day at a time. You are as beautiful as you allow yourself to be. Look at life in a positive way and life will be good to you. emoticon

Words of wisdom there - we are all different, so what is right for one won't necessarily be right for another. In the end, we have to judge what is best.

Heavenly Monday

Monday, May 14, 2012

What another glorious day. I had my church circle at 6:30 this morning, vacummed my floors and cleaned up. DH was already washing clothes when I got home (what a great guy). I will go to school and do my 2 hours to help out today and tomorrow. Hard to believe that it is only 12 days left and they will be out for the summer. Where does the time go. Forgot, I got my 15 minutes in on the treadmill also this morning.

This coming weekend we will be going out to Milwakee again to take the boys to a game out there. They are excited about it for they don't get away too often with school and coaching. It will be a quick trip this time for they have to be back for Monday. Not sure yet but believe we will be camping Memorial weekend. June brings the church salad luncheon we do and I help out. Then we have a trip planed for the end of June for 8 days. A nice getaway on a motorcoach to Nashville and Memphis. I hope to be in the lower 180s by then, but we will see if it happens. The body does strange things but with Gods help I will conquer this journey. emoticon

The sun is shining and it will be lovely day. Had nice time yesterday and the game was good even if losing. We walked over 3 miles and I was surprised to see a good lost this morning. I have had several texts on my phone already for mothers day. The boys are going golfing this afternoon for a tournament which is fine with me. I plan to do some walking and reading. It was after midnight last night before we got home so wore out today.

Many thoughts go thru my head today about my mother and the special thngs about her. She passed when my DS was only 2 and he will soon be 40. She was the best and many say I look just like her. She was a large woman as was most of her family so I know where the weight comes from, even if they say it is not inherited. So as you can see I lost my mother when quite young, but she has always been with me in my heart. That is why I am determed to loss and be here for my kids.

The back is still flaring up some but will not stop me from having a good time. The 2 weeks will be up on the 22nd and then will check with Dr. Beck again on how it is going.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all. Hope your day is special and enjoyed. emoticon

Happy Mother's Day....and it is emoticon that you lost 3 pounds.....I know what you mean about thinking about our Mom's who have pasted on. I can't relate my Mom to my weight problems as she was always a slim stylish woman. Today I do reflect on her and our life with and without her. She was a proud woman who wanted everything to be just right.....glad to hear you will be able to relax and have the day to do what you want.....I always appreciate a day like that. We are off to see MIL and from there heading to Applebee's......I am planning on doing a 550 calorie or less meal....not sure which one yet, but when looking on line all of there meals are very high in sodium even there tilapia..... sigh! I was able to weigh in 2 pounds lighter this morning and I will be drinking tons of water next week to compensate for the sodium today.....have a relaxing day. emoticon

Where do the weeks go. Beautiful weather today. DH went golfing and DS is at school teaching so I had a me day. Ran did some shopping and then sat back in the sun and read my book. So far the back is doing well. Only hurts some but lots better. Actually found the word "no" when called to help at school.

I am finding that my pants are big on me so have to wear a belt to keep them up. Don't want to buy yet till really necessary. Goodbye size 20 and here comes 16. HopingSunday will show the lost that I feel I have done this week.

A Happy Mothers Day to you all. Hope your day is special. We are going to the cities tomorrow to see a Twins game. So that is my gift. The guys are excited for it even thro they aren't playing well.

Wednesday relax day

Yesterday was a tough day and couldn't move much. Today I have done more but the back(lower) is really sore. Hope in those two weeks I am to give the shot to work kicks in so i can enjoy the rest of the summer.

I am not much of a bread eater but have found Slender Rounds by Village Hearth. The whole wheat ones are 100 cals and the mutli grain ones are 90 cals. They are very slim and just right for me. Makes good for turkey burgers and toast in morning. They have 7 gms of fiber which I need. That is my new discovery. Bought fresh walleye at a fish mart while in Milwakee and brought home for a treat. Just need to work on some new recipes.

DH is mowing the yard. I usually do alot of it but laying off right now till back get better.
Happy hump day andhope all is going well.
