Oh my gosh, where did the week go.

Thursday, May 24, 2012

Before I k new it the week is almost gone. May is also coming to an end. Memorial Weekend is upon us. Was going to campb but grounds filled up fast so guess we will stay around here. Grandson plays ball anyway so will watch him. As a freshman he is playing varsity ball. Tuesday night he hit in the winning run so it will be an exciting season.

I found an article on willpower. It says that you should say " I don't want it" rather than "I can't have it". Saying " can't" makes you feel deprived and weakens your defense. Saying "don't" makes you feel in control and helps you stick to your goals. Also say pre-workout snacks to help melt more fat are peanuts, yogurt or celery about two hours before working out will boost your fat-burning capacity. Will have to try this. By decreasing blood-sugar levels you force your body to use its fat stores for energy.

Beautiful is what you are. Some kinds of beauty fade. But not the kind that lights you up from the inside. The kind that lasts. The kind that you don't need makeup to create. The kind thats 100 percent authentic. So smile at the face in the mirror. Thats a true beauty : YOU.

Have a safe and fun Memorial weekend!

Thank you for the good wishes. You are so right about will power. It's amazing what our brains can convince us of. Have a great weekend.

Sunday

Sunday, May 20, 2012

Well, we made it home from Wisconsin. When we left thee it was in the 80s and so nice, then when we got to Minnesota the winds got strong. We stopped in Austin, MN for a quick stop and when I got out of the car I thought I was going to freeze. What a change. Guess it is to be in the 70s most of the week so I can handle that. Working the next two days for my usual 2 hours and then will be done for school ends after Memorial weekend. They are going to hae some summer programs which I might help out off and on when we are around.

Don't know where May has gone. Around this time next month we will be taking a motorcoach trip to Nashville. Looking forward to that and being able to just sit back and enjoy instead of driving. Wednesday I call the back doctor to say how I am doing with my pain. It has been good and only have brief times when it hurts. So will see what he says.

I feel like I did pretty good while away. Cheated at the ball game and had a Margrietta and some ice cream. I will see tomorrow when I step on the scale if I did bad or not.

Welcome home! I'm sure you did some extra walking that offset some out of the ordinary food choices. Hope you had a fantastic time at the ball game!

So tired of the wind.

Friday, May 18, 2012

The sun has shined but the wind has also been blowing bad. They say high 80s to 90 today but also very windy again. I have my windows open and the dirt on everything is terrible. We will be taking off tonight to go out to Wisconsin for the weekend. It will be a late night for we can't leave till the boys get out of practice, so won't get going till after 6 pm.

The weight is staying the same but with the big loss I had last week I expected it. All I am hoping for is to be close to 180 by the end of June when we take our trip. That is a goal for me right now. One goal at a time to be reached will get me to my ending goal of success.

Have a fantistic weekend all.

Glad your coming back to Wisconsin.....I know what you mean about the wind....had to close my windows for the same reason. Getting some planting done again today than won't be able to get the hanging plants out there until next week sometime.....but that's OK my body is telling me to TAKE MY TIME...so I will be listening this time.
I agree with one goal at a time ....... this can only lead to success.
Hope your day goes well and you have a fantastic weekend. emoticon

Life can be good.

Wednesday, May 16, 2012

Looks like another sunny day. Back seems to be getting better and I will start trying to walk more. School is coming to an end in 10 days and the baseball season will begin for the boys. Grandsonwill be very busy and son too. Grandson plays shortstop and son is a coach.

I have read a 19 year old blog and my heart goes out to her. It is so hard at that age to not get down on yourself. Most of us have been there. As you age you find that life has its ups and downs. It takes alot to get the brain to know what is right for you. I have gained and lost so many times in different stages of my life. I now find it is a good time for me. I am happy, content, and busy. I think I have taken control of my life. I have a sister that can hardly get around, alot because of her weight, so I know that I will keep myself active and loss the excess weight. I have learned also to go to where I feel good but not to small. In my 40s I went down to 140 like the charts say and ended up sick all the time. The doctor said it was too low for me and I started eating wrong again and gained it all back plus. So that is why I think if I can get to 160 I will be content.

May all your journeys be successful and you take life one day at a time. You are as beautiful as you allow yourself to be. Look at life in a positive way and life will be good to you. emoticon

Words of wisdom there - we are all different, so what is right for one won't necessarily be right for another. In the end, we have to judge what is best.

Heavenly Monday

Monday, May 14, 2012

What another glorious day. I had my church circle at 6:30 this morning, vacummed my floors and cleaned up. DH was already washing clothes when I got home (what a great guy). I will go to school and do my 2 hours to help out today and tomorrow. Hard to believe that it is only 12 days left and they will be out for the summer. Where does the time go. Forgot, I got my 15 minutes in on the treadmill also this morning.

This coming weekend we will be going out to Milwakee again to take the boys to a game out there. They are excited about it for they don't get away too often with school and coaching. It will be a quick trip this time for they have to be back for Monday. Not sure yet but believe we will be camping Memorial weekend. June brings the church salad luncheon we do and I help out. Then we have a trip planed for the end of June for 8 days. A nice getaway on a motorcoach to Nashville and Memphis. I hope to be in the lower 180s by then, but we will see if it happens. The body does strange things but with Gods help I will conquer this journey. emoticon
