Do dreams mean something?

Monday, September 02, 2013

I had a dream the other day about giving birth to a 3 year old baby with square little tribal tattoos all down his/her back of the neck. The kid was pleasant, so I decided to keep it. :) Hubby was all for it too. I didn't tell my friend about the dream until we had lunch the other day. She tends to have intense dreams, some of which come true. She told me about a dream about goblins she had that all ran around with weird little outfits on with square little markings on them. I asked what exactly they looked like and she drew the markings on a napkin. It was almost exactly the shape the tribal tattoos were on the baby's neck. We were rightfully creeped out. That stuff doesn't seem right. So that brings me to the question. What does it all mean and where is the connection?
Maybe I am just watching too much TV.
Well, that's my thought for the day.

I don't know if dreams mean anything but I do have vivid ones as well. Had one last night about a guy trying to kill me with a pistol and he stuck it in the crack of a door and I grabbed the gun and he was about to shoot me in the neck and I woke up from a dead sleep flailing my hands. It was one of many such dreams I have. There are dream dictionaries where you can look up meanings of things in the dream. I've tried it before. Interesting dreams though.

Frankie Goes To Hollywood Hula Hoop

Sunday, September 01, 2013

Just the other day I was driving home from work and I dug through my long forgotten CD collection in my car. Frankie Goes to Hollywood was at the top of the pile, lol. When I was in my teens and thought I had weight problems (don't all teenagers feel that way?) I had vowed to work out by doing the Hula Hoop every day to the first song on the Frankie Goes to Hollywood Debut album. It is Welcome to the Pleasure Dome, but an extended version with bird sounds, chaca-chaca percussion, Background ladies singing beautiful tunes. And it is about 20 minutes long. I was driving home and thought how I never quite appreciated that I did that Hula Hooping religiously every day. And lemme tell you, I definitely broke a sweat doing that.
Time to get a Hula Hoop? That stuff was fun!

Small changes, big results.....

Saturday, May 18, 2013

So, I am on the Traveler team again for the 5% Spring challenge. What a fantastic team that is!!!

Counting my successes:

~ doing a small, time efficient strength training routine every few days
~ speed walking at least 15 minutes on most of my lunch breaks in the nearby park
~ packing a simple, healthy lunch whole wheat bread, cube of cheese, baby carrots and apple (one of my favorite meals, simple finger food and so good for you)
~ Kind nut bars as snacks (wow they are absolutely amazing!!! Cholesterol friendly, filled with healthy fiber, and so yummy I could cry (.. keeps me from ever thinking of being hungry in between meals, lol)

I lost 2 pounds this first week, and I am so pleased I could just yodel.

Great, great blog to inspire all of us to create our own SparkVillage

Read it and see what you think. I am just amazed at the wonderful possibilities that this lovely woman opened up. I am much the same, a SparkStalker, always looking to connect with people but then not exactly knowing how to keep it up. Well, there is such strength in numbers, I am in the process of building my own village.

Teresa: LOL, I am still looking for the right app. I am not one to easily decide on those things. I have a pedometer in my IPod, but I have trouble remembering to keep it charged, lol. My phone is always with me, so that seemed the better option.

03BFischer: I know what you mean. When I first started the Challenge again, I spent excessive amounts on Spark, trying to get everything done, everyone visited, collect points, and there is a point I can tell when it becomes a chore and is no longer fun. I have to be careful of that. I will keep looking for people who inspire me and who have similar interests or struggles. There definitely needs to be a limit, and can't interfere too much with my regular life outside of Spark :)

I too tend to hide. And hiding does make it easier to fall off the wagon. But I have a hard time keeping up with too many people. And I find that if I get a whole lot of friends, only three actually pay attention. I don't know, I agree and disagree. Mostly do to my situation and the limited time I have. I used to try to get a min of 100 SparkPoints a day, I just can't do all the stuff to get those kind of points anymore. I only have the time to log food and fitness, and an occasional peak at the friend feed. I wish I had more time for all the stuff on here, miss it. I wish I had more time for groups. Thank you for sharing her blog!!!!

I love MOSTMOM1. Is she still doing hula-hoop videos? Hilarious woman and quite inspiring. I am off now to go to the link you've provided as I have sorely missed keeping up with her.
And thanks for the comment on my page. I hope you did find the right pedometer app!

Keep on trucking emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Why the 5% Spring into Summer Challenge?

Monday, April 22, 2013

The answer is simple. I might not always be the best at being accountable, but this challenge offers so many different teams people can be assigned to. In my case it it the Casual Travelers, a team made up of people like me, some are struggling, some have physical problems and can't compete like they would in other teams. The support is amazing and the people are all following the same goal. There is understanding, forgiveness, motivation. :)

Check it out and sign up. This will be fun.
