In need of some encouragement!

So finally, yes finally, I started up with the gym, they have both Zumb and Spinning which I have done both and they are so much fun. Well lets say I would have enjoyed the spinning alot more if I brought a seat pad cause boy did my behind hurt after sitting on that nonpadded seat for an hour lol.

The difficult part is that I have been working out 5 times a week at the gym for the past 2 weeks and working out a little here and there prior to that BUT have yet to lose any weight whatsoever!! I am so frustrated and want to give up, I mean why bother not spending time with the hubby to go to the gym and not lose anything?!?!?! I hope things change around soon, I even changed my eating habits and still nothing. The only thing I can think of thats not helping is that I skip breakfast and may not be getting enough calories with all the calories I am burning. Ugh I really hope things turn around soon! Definitely could use some encouragement or advice!

    I am SO GLAD you are back on Sparkpeople, I've missed you!!! You should join team Leaving 130-ville, I'm an admin there, there's a group of people that always post to the monthly challenges, come check it out!!

And as for the weight, YOU CAN DO THIS! Just stick with it, and try measuring your portions. I know I need to do that again as well, for some reason whenever I plateau it always comes back to portion control for me.

    Figure out how to make exercise so you look forward to it. It has to be a habit. If you dread it or look for instant rewards, you'll be disappointed. It is worth it! chris emoticon

What's the best exercise? The one you will do!

Even better if exercise includes your family and/or friends.

    Hey there SBERG82,
Don't give up! Unfortunately weight loss takes time. Make sure you're not starving yourself, and thus throwing your body into survival mode where it holds onto fat. You should probably log the calories for each food item you eat in a day, just to get a concrete idea of how many calories you are taking in, and also log your calories burned by exercise. Also, make sure you are drinking plenty of water. If you are dehydrated, your body will try to hold onto what water it does have. But really, 2 weeks of steady exercise and eating right is not enough to see if your plan is working. It seems like you are doing the right things, but you need more time. I've heard conflicting things about eating breakfast. I'm a third year medical student, and some of the doctors I'm rotating with say you should always eat breakfast, especially if it is high protein and low carb, so that you have lasting energy for the day, you have plenty of time to burn off the calories, and you don't have the urge to gorge yourself later on. On the other hand, I've had some docs to say you shouldn't eat until your hungry, and if that comes at 11:00 am or noon, so be it. I've lost 70 lbs in a year and always eat breakfast whether I'm hungry or not. I don't think it really matters. It just comes down to how much you take in versus how much you expend.     Exercise is never the wrong thing to do. It is always good for you if you are fit enough to do it. As you workout, think about the positive things you are doing for your body and your endurance. Flood your thoughts with and image of strength that will see you though on those long long days. Think about the many breaths and heartbeats you are adding to your life. You are laying a strong foundation for the weightloss that will come. You won't be just lighter, you'll be lean and cut.

    Hang in there! It is tough when we don't see the feedback we want. As you already know there are so many factors that can influence the scale. I would just suggest that you log everything you eat along with your workouts and maybe there are some adjustments you can make from that info. I know for me, logging everything I eat is essential to me. In addition, sometimes I overestimate the calories I have burned. The most important thing, though, is don't give up. Good luck! emoticon

No Scale For a Month Challenge

Bring It!! (Yes, into the P90X lol, sorry)

So I have been obsessing over the scale since I have started working out again. I am the type of person that if I do not see results right away then I get very discouraged but I really need to keep going. Sooooo I have challenged myself to not step on the scale till June 1st.

Current weight: 147ish (was down to 145 earlier in the week but then it went up to about 147, so we are going with 147ish lol)

Measurements
Waist : 32 in
Arms : 12.25 in
Thighs : 24.5 in

Ewww look at the tummy!! Not good at all...ugh I dont like photos right now.




Look at those hips!!! Again....not good.




SO lets see what results I get come June 1st...should be interesting.

New Year...New Me (hopefully)

Well its the new year and I am sure everyone has made their resolutions to finally lose the weight they have been meaning to. Well include me in on that one! I am hoping this new year I can begin running, something I have always wanted to do. I was never really good at running but hopefully with a pair of new sneakers from Xmas and motivation I can finally acheive that goal. Not only is losing weight my goal for the new year but staying active is. I need to energy boost! With a new job and possibly working 3rd shift soon and who knows if a baby may be in the midst of it all I need all the energy that I can get!

Well not much of a blog but I thought it would help me to write it all down!

    Hey!! How are you? I've been starting my training for another half marathon, so you should keep me updated on what's going on with you. I know when I get new gear/shoes it motivates me, any little thing to get me moving LOL.

My so far progress

So the Big day is almost here...only 9 more days!! I have to say that I cant wait till its all over with. The whole planning a wedding thing has been quite overwhelming. Lets just hope its not blistering hot that day. Regardless of all that...I have to say that I am actually quite happy with my weightloss progress. In the before picture I was about 150 and that was the first time I had tried on the dress. In the after picture I am about 137-138. I think I have toned up quite a bit so I am not seeing a lower number on the scale since I built up more muscle. I do have to say I am happy with the weightloss, even though I was hoping to get down to 130 at least, but I will take it!! Now only if I can figure out what to do with my hair...let me know what you think of the picture I included.

    I like up better, just because it's out of the ordinary (for me at least). If you do something with a sweep over the forehead it's flattering to almost everyone. I also don't like the idea of using so much hairspray (which would be necessary to hold that curl for hours)
A lot of up-dos require long hair. The hairstyle I had would definitely have required extensions if I hadn't had very long hair!
You should do whatever hairstyle makes you feel special and beautiful- for me the very sleek updo that I chose made me feel like a movie star, which was perfect :)

    I was going to do something up as well since we are having an outside wedding, but then my fiance's mother suggested I wore my hair in a ponytail since she thought I had really nice long beautiful hair (her words lol). Plus I dont really look good with it all pulled back. I hope this works out lol, the hairstyle that is. Thanks and you too! I am leaving Tues to heaad down to my grandparents house Yikes! And I will def be posting some pics!

The head is spinning...still

So I finally got to the part in school where I am taking my final...today is the last day that I can review everything and submit it...to only wait up to 2 weeks before I hear back :( But the good news is that I finally finished the course!! Woo HOO!!

We are about 5 weeks away from the wedding, my bridemaids Finally purchased their dresses, and I think I am pretty good to go as far as staying on schedule. Invites were mailed, finally picked up my favors, whats left is to go over everything with the vendors again and start making a schedule for the day of.

I was going strong once again with the working out, but then yard work happened lol which I guess I cant complain about because I have been working out in that aspect. But all this week and partial week last week I have not been working out and still losing weight. Changing your eating habits really does work lol. Even though I think I should be eating more than I am...actually perhaps I am just on the cusp of eating just enough to not enough. Anyways glad to see the scale going back down again, I have my fitting next weekend.

Small update with whats going on over here. Hope all is well with everyone else!! Miss you guys!! emoticon

    JulyBride- I know I cant believe next week is landing us on the 1 month marker!! I am glad its finally here though...so much planning, I am ready to be done with that aspect!!

Aogoae- Lol I totally hear ya on the scheduling part...I keep asking the same questions and my Fiance looks at me like I am crazy which drives me crazy cause I wish he would not be so nonchalant about that aspect. I am such a scheduled person and he knows that lol.

    that schedule is the hard part! when I was making mine I kept thinking, what if people want cocktails longer? What if they want to eat longer? it's all so up in the air, and you don't want to rush people. But if you have a lot of communication with vendors you can work that out, I'm sure.
