No exercise on Wednesday!

Tuesday, April 24, 2012

I marked my calendar. I am on the road with an all day meeting in about 50 miles away from my home I am looking forward to going since I now have directions, the agenda, and the minutes from the planning session. I felt I had to beg to get information. This Becker can be choosy!

I have a dinner at 6 pm with two other members of our organization to award a grant to a Berks County Group of Office Professionals. My poor husband will have visitors to assist him.

My bottom line is that I cannot exercise at all on Wednesday. This is so unusual. Perhaps I will cycle before I go. I can always walk in the parking lot before or after the meeting. If I have time between events, I may get out my golf whiffle balls and hit some balls.

Exercise is so a part of me! It is too difficult to be lazy.

Reality

Monday, April 23, 2012

Today begins a busy week for me. I will see my dentist this morning to get my prothesis adjusted as per the oral surgeon. I hope to train intensely and then choose either golf or swimming to round out my day.

This is the busy week with a trip to Carbon County for my retiree group. I'm still trying to find out where the meeting is taking place. I may make to the meeting?

Golf - Wow!

Saturday, April 21, 2012

I got an email yesterday. It solves my problem beautifully. A golf course owner realizes how fragile new golfers are. She aims to make a difference. Today, Cheryl Heckman offered stretch classes after we warmed up with the Reading Phillies Mascot, Screwball. They have a PGA golf pro who has a new training facility. I met him and took a free clinic. He speaks my language. I will take lessons from him. In addition he gives playing lessons on the course. Hurrah, I'm ready for that.

Cheryl also has a drop-in ladies 9 hole experience on Monday evenings and aims to keep a Wednesday 8:30 am drop in for 9 holes for women. My problems are resolved by a course and people who understand new golfers dilemmas.

That's cool! It's gotta make things easier-I know how folks are who golf a lot since I grew up with a bunch of them!

Golf - renewed determination

Friday, April 20, 2012

emoticon I am embarking on a second season of league play. The second time around is better than year 1. My biggest frustration with golf is finding a partner whose schedule matches mine. I decided to have an alternative plan. I will participate in the casual women's nine on Monday evenings at Manor Golf Course when I cannot find a partner!

I plan to attend a stretching clinic at the Grand Opening of the course tomorrow and take a free golf clinic. I plan to sign up for long game as well as short game clinics.

I am meeting people and hope to find the proper way to play quality golf. I'm hooked on learning how to play. Here's hoping things work out.

Prayerful

Thursday, April 19, 2012

I spent much time in prayer today as I sought discernment. I go back to the oral surgeon to find out how well my surgery is healing. One area looks great; the other is somewhat irritated. I am hoping for the best news possible.

I enjoy so many things, but cannot do them all. I am happy to be the president elect of the Berks County Association of School Retirees. I had to move out of the membership chairperson role. I am blessed that I have a wonderful replacement who will do great things.

I missed my personal trainer while she was on vacation, but decided to train with another person. She brought so much to my training. I kept up with her and got great workouts. It was a new venture for me. I will be happy to return to my regular trainer who is also a close personal friend.

I am blessed to have virtual friends as well as dear friends of all ages. So I am reflective and prayerful for this day and ALL the people who touched my life!

It's nice to have things to keep us busy! Sometimes it's good to change trainers and get new ideas but I can understand the going back to your friend. I would love to go back to my new trainer but he's out of town just far enough to make it difficult. My new one works out great for now. Hope you have a great day and heal well!!

If your Berks County is in PA, then we are neighbors. I live in CHester County and my husband works in Green Hills. if so then howdy neighbor!!! Good thoughts and prayers that your oral surgery is healing well. I am looking at a possible implant and my daughter who is a dentist wants to do it. She's only been out of her residency a year and has been working for about 8 months...yeah thanks but no thanks. I will let my brother in law do it...he;s been a dentist for 40 years so...you can get the drift. Congrats on being president!!!! emoticon
