Weigh-In Let Down

Wednesday, October 10, 2012

It's been two weeks with little change on the scale. However, I just self-analyzed and noticed that my attitude has gone from "I hit my minimum calories, I need to stop now" to seeing my max calories as a goal. I didn't even realize my change in mindset, and I now know to guard against it.

Arghhh. Me too, no change in the scale for week one of Fall 5% challenge. It WILL happen. Up early this morning for walk with husband by starlight. Thanks for the suggestion about brushing teeth earlier on my Working Woman blog. I've been back in the workforce just over a week after 2+ years out of work. It's a big change, but a very good one.

Depending on how much you work out, you might need the extra calories.

I noticed that you have a goal on your page of losing 2 pounds a week. I had that goal too. I have decided one pound a week is a pretty good victory. It is hard to be in a spartan denial attitude all the time.

We all need to remember it is progress, not perfection.
Hang in there.
In order to shift we first need to become aware.

So fun to be under my calorie limit, even with a kids' meal at Culver's for dinner! No guilt here!

Going and Going and Going...

Monday, October 08, 2012

I realize that losing weight is a long haul and that keeping it off is a lifelong commitment, I just wish it would go faster. It would be so much more encouraging. You know?

If it's moving in the right direction, that's good enough for me!

I know what you mean. Every time I look at the scale, I see the numbers that haven't budged. I finally took out a measuring tape and made a note of my measurements. It is the tell all sign when the scale doesn't budge that I'm still "moving the furniture around" as my friend calls muscle replacing fat. It gives some inspiration when that square thing on the bathroom floor gives none.

"No Soup for You" -Seinfeld

Wednesday, October 03, 2012

Actually, after my weigh-in today, I should be on a soup-only diet. The scale did not budge this week.

But here's the thing: IT WILL NEXT WEEK. 8 glasses of water/day, 5 freggies or more, no dessert if I'm already at my calorie minimum in the evening, and dancing with my TV at least three times this week.

Remember, your weight is only your gravitational pull toward the earth! There are other things changing that that scale can't detect. I got a body fat analyzer and that has helped keep me from going crazy.

Sometimes there's no explaining why those darn numbers don't budge. If you're doing everything right, just keep doing it and be patient. Those numbers WILL budge.

A Tad Worried about Weigh-In Tomorrow

Tuesday, October 02, 2012

Hmmmm... tomorrow, I have a weigh-in for a challenge here on SP, and I've felt bloated all week... I am hoping that, after another week of reasonable eating, my weight will continue to go down, despite the water retention and icky feeling. Wish me luck! (And say a little prayer for my 2 day old headache!)

just thought if you are bloaty and have a headache are you drinking enough?i know when i havenīt drunk enough i get water retention and headaches.good luck with the weigh in but like the others say.weighing is not the be all and end all in this our weight loss journey NSV do count as well. emoticon

Just remember to also consider NSV!!!! Healthy choices, exercise, passing on dessert, skipping seconds - all non-scale victories you should be proud of! I am nervous about my WI tomorrow too, but I am trying to remind myself that the number on the scale is not the whole picture. I made more healthy choices than unhealthy choices. I exercised more often than not during the week. And I am proud of myself.

Even if the scale doesn't move this week - you have plenty to be proud of! emoticon

emoticon good luck! What is up with headaches? Could it be a change in the weather? Just remember that you are making a lifestyle change and that the weigh in is just part of the journey! emoticon
