A new start with VI-Shakes

Thursday, September 29, 2011

I have tried lots of things to get motivated to get back on track. About a month ago my daughter started a new program were you drank 2 shakes a day and had a regular meal for the 3rd. I don't know if anyone who reads this is familiar with the Vi-Shake or not, but if you do would like to hear from you. She was having good luck with them and she wasn't experiencing any hungry and had more engery.
After some talking about it with her and my husband, I decided that I would try them and see if I could jump start my weigh loss again. After one week I lost 3# and had not suffered any of the shakiness or hungry I have experienced when I would try anything. I do have more energy.
I am not posting this to "toot" the horn for VI-shakes. I am posting this because I am not going to depend on the shakes for a permanent solution but will be striving to get back on SP and follow the healthy lifestyle change that will get me to a permanent goal.
I am so tired of starting and stopping. I am hoping and asking the LORD to guide me in this new program and to help me reach the weight he would have me to be and the energy I need to serve him more. I know that as long as I kept my eyes on his goal and him that I did well, but I have to admit that I tried to do it all in my own power and failed.

I say do what works for YOU. Do the shakes "for now" as you say, and if they are working without the hunger and shakiness, there must be more to it than just low calories.

Work on one step at a time, reading lots of info here again and getting back into exercise. THEN work on replacing the shakes (or one at a time if it's too overwhelming) with real food. And of course make sure your one meal a day is as healthy and colorful and full of flavor as possible.

We all require different motivation and timing on this journey!! My nutrition isn't perfect either, but I'm working on it, one day at a time. emoticon

I personally feel that we must learn to eat three healthy meals a day with fruit or yogurt to curb the hunger between meals. Quick fixes are not the answer. Learning to eat wisely and exercise in some form is the answer. We are not on a diet we are on a learning healthier ways to eat. There is so much help here at Sparks. I pray you find what works for you here.

One of the reasons people lose weight with VI Shakes is because the shakes, prepared with milk, are only 170 calories. If you replaced two of your meals with 170 calories of anything you'd lose weight... even 170 calories of Twinkies!

He is Risen!!!!

Thursday, April 21, 2011

Tomorrow is "Good Friday" the day our Saviour was crucified for our sins. I hope we all will take time and reflect on what that means and how we can share the good news with others. Without the crucifiction then there would have been no Easter. I serve a risen saviour, how about you!

Plans for Easter:
Attend church
All my children and grand children will come over for Dinner.
Celebrate my parents 70th wedding anniversary.

Wishing every one a happy and healthy Easter.

AnotI her day to wait!

Wednesday, April 20, 2011

We hope that we have found someone who can fix hte part for the truck. A load lifted that's for sure. This is just another way that the LORD is teaching me that I can't do anything on my own, but in his strength and in his time. In our Bible Study time, my dh and I left this problem in the LORD's hands. It's so nice to have this peace.
I have kept within my eating range, drank 8 glasses of water and got 8 hours sleep. The only waking that I did today was through Walmart and Sam's doing shopping.
Thanks again SP for the encouragement to keep on keeping on!!!!

I can't believe it!!!

Tuesday, April 19, 2011

We have a 2003 Dodge Ram truck and last week we found out that the computer module that controls the voltage was bad. We were told that it would be at least 3 weeks to get it fixed, then we were told that there was only 2 parts in the USA and today we were told that the part(I guess the only one available) was at a dealership in Puerto Rico and the dealer refuses to release it. I can't believe it!!!
There doesn't seem to be any in the salvage yards. We are in the process of trying to find someone who rebuilds parts. It's hard to not get discouraged, but we will keep on trusting the LORD. We know that in his timing it will be solved. We wanted to go home to MO in May, but not sure about anything right now.
I will not let this get me off track when I have just got my head turned around.

I will Keep on Keeping on!! The LORD is on my side!!!

Coasting thru the Weekend.

Friday, April 15, 2011

The week has gone down hill. Today is Fri. and I can't truly say I have accomplished any of my goals for the week.
I know that getting back on track will be hard over the weekend, so I will coast and do the best I can.
Next Week will be another chance to get back on track. Will use the weekend to make some much needed food plans and scheduling.
Thanks to all my great SP friends for being there, listening and giving me good strong advice. Prayers for you.
Keep on Keeping ON.
