Yesterday evening, just as I was leaving work, I received a disturbing call from my husband that someone jumped a red light and he got hit hard passenger side. By some miracle, no one was hurt (but alot of damage). Even though everyone was okay, I was still shaken. When I got home, instead of "just eating" out of extreme stress, I grabbed a bottle of water, had a low-fat turkey sandwich, then snacked on fresh, unsweetened strawberries. During the two hours before my husband came home (he had to call the insurance company, talk to the police, etc), I prayed to God FIRST, got online here to SP, and made up my mind to NOT slip back into an old habit of overeating.
Thanks once again for "listening", spark friends, I'm waking up very thankful and grateful that it wasn't a worst-case scenario.

Hi Spark Friends! It's been quite a while since I've posted a blog, we've been busy with house-hunting. It's official, we are now under contract, we went from being renters to buying a home we really love! Suffice it for me to say that all the packing, moving, and cleaning is a work-out in and of itself LOL. My husband & I will be moving out at the end of this month. We will also have a huge backyard and I already have plans to make part of it my work-out space, weather permitting. Ok, my break time is over----now to do some more packing

Yesterday, I had my annual evaluation (which went great!). Three days a week, I am on the road going to and servicing dialysis units. I bring my lunch most of the time and when I don't I go to a salad bar at the supermarket and get fruits and veggies and go to the deli to get either sliced turkey or chicken. Well, yesterday my supervisor came along with me (for the evaluation), and we stopped at a restaurant. Because we were under a time constraint, I just ordered the quickest item on the menu (they didn't have healthy choices). I got a hamburger and sweet potato fries (deep fried I think). Yes, I won't lie, it tasted good, but being that I got used to eating better than that, I felt sluggish & "in a fog" for the remainder of the day. Next year, I will do my research and find a better place to dine ( I didn't have time, I was working crazy hours to get everything up to proper standards). Well, now to get some oatmeal for breakfast
