Yesterday, I had my annual evaluation (which went great!). Three days a week, I am on the road going to and servicing dialysis units. I bring my lunch most of the time and when I don't I go to a salad bar at the supermarket and get fruits and veggies and go to the deli to get either sliced turkey or chicken. Well, yesterday my supervisor came along with me (for the evaluation), and we stopped at a restaurant. Because we were under a time constraint, I just ordered the quickest item on the menu (they didn't have healthy choices). I got a hamburger and sweet potato fries (deep fried I think). Yes, I won't lie, it tasted good, but being that I got used to eating better than that, I felt sluggish & "in a fog" for the remainder of the day. Next year, I will do my research and find a better place to dine ( I didn't have time, I was working crazy hours to get everything up to proper standards). Well, now to get some oatmeal for breakfast

I will give myself an 8, how's that! This blog is a follow-up to yesterdays. I learned that I'm not the only health-conscience person in church! Remember I mentioned I brought the celery, carrots, and low-fat dip? When I went to the tables where we put the food, there already was a huge tray of carrots and celery! And not only that, someone brought in 2 huge trays of fresh, cut-up strawberries and peaches! YAY! My favorite fruits and veggies! Yes, I feasted out on those and was happy with that! The reason I'm rating myself an 8 is because (and I won't lie), I had one small cheese pizza slice, 4 chicken wings, and about a 2" cube of cake. However, at the same time I am proud of myself for not going back for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th helpings, no kidding, I used to gorge out like that. And plus I don't drink alcoholic beverages; I stuck with water and diet Coke. And thank you for your support and great suggestions spark friends!! If any of you need support, don't hesitate to visit my page or drop me a line, I mean that!
By the way, I had a great time and as much as I was routing for the Colts, I am happy for the Saints winning!

Hi everyone! As you know, today is superbowl Sunday. The good news is that I'm going to a superbowl party at our church. They are a great bunch of nice and fun people and it's gonna be a blast routing for the best team to win as we watch on a huge-screen HD TV. Here's the bad news: there will be LOTS of food there and I do NOT want to go overboard. I'm posting this blog so I will be accountable. I know the wise choices to make, SP taught me that. This thing is, everyone is bringing something and I don't know if they will be the healthest choices. This much I can tell you: I, myself, am bringing a dish of cut up celery, carrots, and low fat yogurt dip. Maybe, just MAYBE some other members will do the same. So this blog doesn't end on a downer, I'm gonna end it with this: I'm gonna be with my son, daughter in law, and people I love! Enjoy your evening!

At work today, as I was listening to our local radio station at my desk, the DJ offered a pair of tickets to this weekend's Home & Garden show in Virginia Beach at the Convention Center. He gave a few hints of a famous singer and whoever was the first to call in and get the right answer would win. Ok, so I dialed, thinking I'd just get a busy signal (as usual LOL), but I was shocked to hear it ringing and almost dropped the phone. I gave the answer and won the tickets! I am going with my daughter in law Sunday to enjoy it! I can't wait! In case you're wondering, here were the clues that were given (I don't remember word for word, but you'll get the idea): "he sang "It's Not Unusual" while he gyrated on stage making women's hearts beat (something like that)". Tom Jones (be still my foolish heart heh heh). Well, now I'm gonna download some of his music

I received two trophies from SparkPeople for Consistency, January 2010, and 500 Monthly SparkPoints! How nice is that! And tomorrow, the 4th, will mark my two-year Sparkversery! One of the best decisions I made! Granted, I stumbled along the way and had a few setbacks, but with God's help and my Spark friends, I will keep on keeping on!
Once again, thank you SparkPeople and spark friends! LOVE YOU!!
