Hello Spark friends! It's been quite a while since I've posted any blogs. My husband and I took time off to do some traveling up in the New England states and to visit family during the course of the summer. For the most part, we did a lot of camping and hiking, just enjoying the beautiful scenery of the outdoors! We went full circle starting in Vermont, then going to New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New York state. Here are some pictures I got:
My husband swimming (Vermont)
Quechee Gorge Village, Vermont
Up on a high bridge viewing the gorge
We took a 30-minute hike to view it up close---breath-taking!
Vermont is known as the Green Mountain State and we saw why!
This is a few of many pictures I've taken. By the way, at the start of the summer, I weighed in at *blush* 168 and with all the walking around, hiking up and down hills, rugged trails, setting up camp, etc, I currently weigh 148! I have to start getting some new fall/winter clothes LOL!

Well, here it is---Thursday and Friday the supervisors will be here for auditing, evaluations, and (Friday) for an 8-hour training program for updates on procedures. In the meantime, my husband has been my rock and support. Not just emotionally, but nutritionally too. He has been making my breakfasts and lunches which include oatmeal, poached eggs, multi-grain bread toasted, and coffee (truthfully, still gotta have that, just not as much half & half). Lunches he makes would include lean meats (turkey and roast beef the favorites), mustard, not mayo, fresh fruits, plain almonds, and I bring my water bottle as each stop has a water machine.
Today's Tuesday, I have OFF---YAY! I'm gonna be making home-made veggie soup for dinner. The temps dropped and that would be perfect. Besides, that would be a nice reward to my hubby as that is his one of HIS favs too

My regional supervisor and head of human resources will be here next week and I'm scrambling to meet deadlines with reports, schedules, etc (out of breath reading this yet?). There is one thing that I'm doing when I order for our luncheons----play it smart. Fortunately there is a Subway that is less than 5 miles away. That is a healthier choice than, say, getting pizza, fast-food, you get the idea. Also, on one of those days (a week from today), I will be on the road with my supervisor to visit another of our locations and Apple Bee's is 1/4 mile from there. I went not too long ago and they have a very good selection of entrees endorsed by Weight Watchers and the under 550 calories category.
Okay, break-time's over-----now to finish my report and fax it...........

Hi Everyone! Happy New Year! I know it's been quite a while and I pray that all is well with my friends
I had my ups and downs during the course of 2012 but all in all we have been truly blessed in spite of 2 major situations that did occur; my 86 years young dad had a stroke and subsequently suffered falling and was in and out of the hospital. To be honest, it was touch and go for several months. Then just a few months later, my mother in law suffered a stroke and I'm sorry to say that she is now in a nursing home requiring professional care. However, my dad made a complete turnaround and recovered. My mil is also doing great, she's 87 and when we saw her on Christmas day she did her own hair and makeup and looked fantastic. Between work and visits to both parents, my choice of foods were not the best and I ended up gaining back 10 of the pounds and trust me, I feel it Now, here is my reason (besides staying healthy of course) that I want to get back into the swing of proper diet and exercise----later on this year I am taking a trip to Ireland! Needless to say my husband and I couldn't be any more excited! I've never traveled abroad, this will be my first major overseas vacation wooo hooo! It will be either very late summer or fall, at this post it's undecided. Besides, we need to save up a little more $$$ LOL! We plan to do a LOT of walking around to see the sites. I've acquired a few friendships from several people on facebook and from here (Norfolk VA) that live in Ireland and the pictures we've been shown are breath-taking and we want to BE there to see for ourselves! There is one minor downside--when we had our pictures taken for our passports----uh, well, how do I say this? We don't look like happy campers as you cannot smile and show teeth. You can smile slightly but still--- But we laugh about that anyway! So----whatdaya say! I show up here on Spark and make myself accountable and stick with the program! Okay ten pounds, your days are numbered heh heh heh!
Until next time,
