Day 5 - lovin' my Leslie...

Yes, just did my morning mile - today it was abs - which has some nice arm moves too!
Well, did no digging today. The fence guys came to install new garden fences, so I ended up painting some things related to that job.
Sooo...tomorrow evening is my digging time, since AM I have to work at my actual job...

My leg muscles are still tired from all that digging but the rest of me is doing much better!
Doing Leslie's arms-focused mile was not a problem, plus I really like that one - the leg moves are still there but she adds so much more.
Today I am not going to dig at all. I need a break, it is very hot, and the ground is still quite wet from last night's storm.
So, indoors tasks, and I'm sure I'll feel like doing more in the AM!

    Wow! You have a big project going. Sounds like you've made a lot of progress. I've got a pile of compost calling my name. It's much easier to spread compost than dig out yew roots, so I have no excuse. You've motivated me to get back the shovel and wheelbarrow.

Day 3 - tired but persevering

We're having a heat advisory here so I had to get out early.
Tired however - chose to do the Leslie classic walk which is easier although more boring.
Then proceeded to dig more yew roots - they are intertwined with tree roots which doesn't help at all!
But I am making good progress - one more session of this and I think I can start moving in new dirt.
It may be a bit soon to say that, but what the hey!

It was easier today to do the mile in the AM! I also did it earlier, and managed to drink 4 glasses of water before noon. I'm discovering that if I don't get that water going early, it never happens...
I did the 14-minute abs mile today - it was easier than doing the 12-minute mile so early. And I enjoy those moves more too.
Update on digging - I am digging again, clearing yew roots, which is nasty work. Weather is not too hot now so it's the right time to do it.
I wore myself out though with my previous spate of digging. This time I am doing it in 15-minute segments, then resting for at least 15 minutes before the next round. This is working much better. I did it yesterday, and today I was not too tired to go at it again!
It will really be worth it when the grass goes in! emoticon

    You're right! Ivy is a breeze compared to this. I do it early but even so, after 10 minutes or so, start dripping...

A new goal...

I've been less diligent with my cardio exercise feeling a bit bored with my Leslie tapes, and it's terribly hot outside.
I have a plan to revitalize my routine.
My favorite Leslie tape is the 5 Day Slim-Down - begins with "classic walk," goes on with miles focusing on arms, legs, abs, and finishes with a speed mile.
I often exercise at night - it's cooler then and I like to take a bath before bed, so that works well.
BUT it's cool in the AM too - and I think I could use the boost in the morning.
Soooooo - tomorrow I will try doing the Leslie warmup and then the speed mile.
A quick way to begin - and I will have one mile under my belt early.
My goal is to do this for one week and see how it goes.
I'll keep you posted...
