Day 2 - Woulda Been Easy to Skip

Tuesday, January 03, 2012

I did not do the cardo I had planned. My Spartans went into 3 overtimes in the Outback Bowl yesterday (and won!!!!). My plan was a video or Wii Fit after the game but it went so long, it was time to pick Brooke up from school. :o(

I was not deterred though. My new plan was to do something that Brooke would enjoy doing with me after dinner. Well, Miss Thing took for.ever on her dinner and it was time for bed before I knew it.

So cardio got scrapped but I did not skip the Day 2 video. My awesome hubby encouraged be to do it even though he was ready to watch our shows for the night. So I took my computer and did it!!

My hips crunched through almost all of squats and that was not fun. I did what I could though and think that is a video I'll come back to even after the challenge is over.

Day 1 - January Jumpstart Challenge

Sunday, January 01, 2012

I admittedly laughed when I saw that today was an 8-minute video.

I shouldn't have. It kicked by booty!!

And I'm glad it did. I needed that to show myself how out of shape I have become.

So for the record, Day 1 of this challenge - could barely get through an 8-minute cardio video.

Here's to seeing where I am on Day 30!!

But you still did the video! The day 2 video made my legs burn but I loved it! Keep up the great work and you will indeed rock on day 30!

Working Mom Pity Party

Friday, October 09, 2009

Ugh...today was one of those morning I really hate working outside the home. Brooke woke up a little bit early, but still later than she had been a couple weeks ago. For some reason, she was still tired and therefore whiney and not easily appeased. She took forever nursing so we were running behind and she just kept putting her arms up to me to pick her up. I still had to get dressed, make up on, get her dressed, etc. I know SAHMs have it happen to them too, just for me, this morning, if I didn't have to go to work, I could have sat on the floor and held her for as long as we wanted. At least its Friday.....

I hear ya. And it always seems like the mornings that I am in a rush is when they need you most.

I'm sorry it was such a rough morning.

I'm not a working outside the home mom, but I definetly have those times when we need to get somewhere on time (we have lots of homeschool activities the kids are involved in) and its always those times that the baby nurses the longest - Its like they know and want that extra mommy time.

I have the same feelings of the morning when I have to get up... and leave my 8 month baby boy with my baby sitter. Sometimes it frustrates me to know in, and I also have myself a pity party! I Have the job with the benefits.. so I have to remind myself it is for the family. I hate it though. (guess I just added to your pity party.. sorry!)
Hang in there.. It is Friday! The weekend we can spend holding them.

Being a working mom isn't easy. I know since I am a FT working mom to boys 10 and 12 years old. We make use of every minute and look forward to weekends and holidays. Welcome to SP!
