New Beginnings

Hi spark friends. It has been a while since I blogged here! I have been popping in and out of spark for the past 6 months trying to get focused. Well now is the time to get real and get serious. I have enjoyed reading all my spark buddies blogs and updates! It has definitely helped me!

Here is a rundown of what has been going on:
Nathan accepted a position in Oklahoma with Lowes and we are moving the 16th of August! SO excited for this new chapter for us and our little family!
Isabella is going to be in 1st grade!
We moved out of our townhouse in 24 hours last week due to Nathan's dad being a jerk (we rented from him). Definitely got my sweat on! We are living at my mom and dads for the next 3 weeks.
Lexi will be 4 in October, can't believe she is going to be 4!
I got my Implanon taken out and we are going to official start trying for another baby in Nov/Dec!
I have MAINTAINED a 10 pound loss for the year! My starting weight this year was 241 and I weighed in 2 weeks ago at 231!
I got a minivan in June, officially a soccer mama!
I finished 2 semesters at the Community College! I only need 25 more credit hours and I have my Associated Degree!

That is pretty much what has been going on!

Things have settled down and I am ready to get back on track! I will be blogging atleast 2-3 times a week here updating y'all on my progress. I KNOW spark works, it worked for me back in 2010! So it will work for me now!

Planning for a successful weekend!

Morning y'all! Happy Friday! emoticon

I am going on day 5 of being on track. I took a peak at the scale yesterday morning and I am down 5 pounds but my official weigh in day is Monday! It really pumped me up to keep going! I am determined to have an on track weekend! The plans for this weekend are as follows:

Friday evening:
*grill out tonight. Steaks, asparagus, onions & mushrooms oh and Pineapple!!!
*go for a bike ride tonight with the girls

*whip up a healthy breakfast (I just got some farm fresh eggs from my Aunt so I will be making something with them!)
*go for a woggle (walk/jog)
*dress shopping with my cousin for her wedding! Wedding is in August and I am a bridesmaid! Even more incentive to get this weight off!
*finish ALL the laundry, which means I have to organize the girls closet!
*grill out again since it will be warm outside

*whip up another healthy breakfast
*do a workout dvd (Jillians 30 Day Shred)
*Isabella has a soccer game at 2
*go for a walk with the girls
*crock pot meal for Sunday (I will post my recipe over the weekend that I decide to use!)

In the mix over the weekend I have a Biology quiz and need to study for my mid term! I think all in all this is a good plan for a successful weekend! My main problem on the weekends is wanting to get pizza for dinner on Fridays and eating out on Saturday! NOT this weekend!!!

Great plan girl! Sounds like a fabulous, attainable weekend to me. You're going to do great. You got me wanting to grill, I think I'll grill some hamburgers tonight. :)

Hello spark friends! It has been a while since I have blogged! I thought I would catch you all up on what has been happening, where I am going and what my plans are!

Hope y'all had a wonderful Easter! emoticon emoticon emoticon

We just got back from vacation! We took the girls to Disney world and had a blast! Here are a few pictures from our trip!

Now that I am back from vacation I decided it was time to stop the yo-yoing and get healthy once and for all! I am making small changes that will get me to my end goal which is to live a healthy & active lifestyle. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I am going on day 4 of eating healthy and exercising atleast 30 minutes per day! I bought some new running shoes to get me pumped up for working out and I LOVE Them!

Here are my plans for April:

emoticon Be active for atleast 30 minutes per day

emoticon atleast 4 water bottles of water

emoticon cook every dinner at home

*log my food on spark

*write in my personal journal each day for 10 minutes

I am also participating in a Biggest loser challenge on facebook and the group of girls on my team are awesome! They are very supportive and it is great to have their support and encouragement!

For anyone starting will have many "day 1's", many days that you want to give up and quit but let me tell you DON'T EVER QUIT! I am going on 3 years of my health journey and I have lots of ups and downs and I am proud that I have not quit. I am pushing forward towards my goals and I will reach them this year. I know I will! Nothing is impossible!

March Goals-Focusing on Food, Good Food!

Hello Spark friends!
Happy March! Glad it is a new month, it is another chance to get it right! emoticon

A little update...I am in physical therapy for my knee (which has arthritis and hurts bad), well Monday my physical therapist worked my legs too much and I think I have torn my muscle in my right calf. I haven't been able to fully put weight on it since Tuesday. So I am going to my doctor today along with my 3 year old because she is sick. It has been one heck of a week...physically and mentally. If you could say a prayer for Nathan's grandma, she is 88 and is having heart problems. They are giving her a year to live, which I know can be shorter or longer. We just need the prayers right now. Oh and also my sister that I haven't seen or spoke to in 3 years reached out to me on Tuesday. She wants to reconnect and have a real healthy sister relationship. Wowzers it has been a week!! Oh and things are going good with Nathan and I. He is in counseling weekly and goes to group therapy, we are communicating better by talking things out. We are just taking it slowly as he works through some terrible things that happened to him when he was little. It is all going to be ok, I know it will. emoticon

Ok so enough of that...Here are my March Goals!!!

emoticon Drink atleast 3 bottle of water daily & log it on spark

emoticon Meal plan for the week on Saturday's

emoticon 2 fruits each day

emoticon emoticon emoticon limit sweets to 2 times per week. It has gotten out of control the sweet crap I have been eating.

emoticon blog weekly on spark

emoticon smile everyday

There you have it! My goals! I am really struggling with this whole knee issue so this month I am making it about the food! Getting it right with my nutrition. Trying to cut out processed crap, junk food and fast food.

20 days until we go to Disney World! Yay!!!! WE are so excited!!! It will be tough to eat healthy on vacation but I am up for the challenge!

I am so glad you and Nathan are doing well. I think it's great that your Sister is reaching out to you. I have 3 Sisters and can't imagine not having a relationship with them. I hope all that works out.

I was down with Back issues back in 2010-2011...I totally understand the fustration in being down. But you are working on the food part and that's great!

    So sorry to hear about your knee/leg issues. Hopefully it gets better before Disney. Although - you could get special treatment if you have Nathan push you around in a wheelchair. ;)

I'll add you & your family to my prayer list. I'm glad Nathan is getting the help he needs. That's a huge prayer answered right there!

Hi Spark friends! Just wanted to drop in and give y'all an update! Can't believe that we are already into February! January was a good month! I didn't lose or gain so I will take that! I was able to set my goals for the month/year and start reaching them.

February has started out great...I am doing well with eating healthy with only a few slip ups. I am proud that I was able to recognize a bad meal Saturday night and got back to eating healthy Sunday morning. I am learning to break the habit of turning to food for comfort and have done pretty well with when it happens, I recognize it and get it back under control. emoticon

Fitness has been good! I am working on getting a fitness routine down and then I hurt my knee. It has actually been crunching and grinding for a few years but never thought anything of it but since I have been running/working out it has flared up. and now it aches and hurts really bad :( so I am currently icing my knee. I went to my primary care doctor and she thinks it is "runners knee" (the technical term is patellofemoral syndrome) I have an appointment with and orthopedic surgeon tomorrow and hopefully I will get some xrays and see what the deal is. I am resting it, icing it and taking ibuprofen.

I have 38 days until we go on our first vacation since 2006!!! We are taking the girls to Disney World in Florida!! We are so excited!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Hope 2013 is treating everyone well!

I am having the same issue with my knee. I don't want to go to the dr. b/c I am scared it will derail my exercise routine. emoticon

    Your girls are at a great age to go to Disney! Good for you!

Thinking of you as you go to the doc today about your knee. Injuries can really cause havoc with working out. Voice of experience! But you are very fortunate to have a pool at the Spirit Center where you work out! That may be your best bet for a while. See what the doc says.

2013 is my year too! At least that's what I was telling myself going in. It's been a rough start with my surgery recovery and blood clot but it's only mid February! We've got the rest of the year to make it ours! Let's do it for real this time, Sarah!
