Cleaning Up

It is so nice today. All 3 of my kids are back in school. It is so peaceful. Charlie and I are getting a lot done. We are cleaning up our bedroom. I finally got a big pile of clothes off my dresser and in the drawers where they belong. Most of it was the kid's clothes. I'm also picking up odds and ends in the kid's rooms. I'm hoping to get some walking in today. At least today is a productive day. Hopefully I can keep up the streak and take back control of my house.

Good Weekend

We had an excellent time at my husband's high school reunion. There were about 14 other classmates there most with spouses. We all had a good time. I enjoyed talking with one of Charlie's female classmates and I also enjoyed talking to the wife of another of his classmates named Mary. I was sharing with Mary about Sparkpeople and she seemed really interested so I gave her the website so she could sign up. We had a good time together with no kids. I had a good swim in the motel pool. We went to the reunion today for the company we used to work for. We had a good time with the exception of learning that one of our friends had passed away over a year ago. That was sad to learn. I saw a few people there that I hadn't seen in a while and one of my old bosses noticed I had lost weight. That made me feel good. I have an update on the kid that called me Miss Piggy. When we walked by his house yesterday morning we noticed someone had teepeed it. He must have mouthed off to someone else who didn't take it so well. What goes around comes around. I think I will take a walk tonite. It seems fairly cool out. Everybody take care.

Glad you had fun at the reunion. I am going to my 45th in October. Lots of planning to cover the home front but I think it will be worth it. I have never gone to one since the five years. My SIL who lost her dh to cancer a year ago graduated with me so she is my date. I know it will be a fun time. Maybe that young man will think about his actions in the future. I hope so!! Hugs!! Picnic & Swimming

We had a picnic and swimming tonite for our foster & adopt group. We ate first. I ended up 170 calories over and slightly over on my carbs but not much. I didn't figure that was too bad considering I had 2 hot dogs and some chips with a brownie for dessert. Of course while I was eating my dessert a lady brings in a nice healthy salad. How is that for timing. I did get some actual swimming in tonite so I did burn my extra calories off. Charlie bless his heart kept thinking the check book was way off and he kept apoligizing for it being such a mess. I did the bank statement and it was off a little but I really didn't have a hard time at all with it. I called the bank because 2 deposits were close in amount and date. The amounts were off but luckily we ended up with about $200 more on that one and Charlie started getting his unemployment again so I added those in so overall we came out in good shape. All in all we had a great day today and by the way it started pouring down rain right after we got in the garage. It rained out where we went swimming at but luckily they also had an indoor pool so we were able to swim and have a good time.

Thursday Madness

I had to get the rest of the school supplies today. We had to run to 3 different schools for open houses. We took the supplies to school today. That way I don't have to worry about any more disappearing. The best news is the foster boys are gone. It sounds like they have a good home. I am glad. Hopefully they can get through to them. Our worker had them at court today and I guess she had quite a time with them. They were kicked out of the waiting area and then they were kicked out of the courtroom in record time. She then took them to her office and she said they tore her office up. She finally saw what we were going through. My brother had trouble with his soon to be ex. First she was over at his house complaining because he showed her as unemployed on the divorce papers. She said she is retired. She is only 55 and she quit working when he retired. She draws no retirement and she draws no disability. He got tired of her being there because she just wanted to argue and complain so when she was moving something out of the house he kind of pushed her out the door and locked it. He didn't hit her or hurt her. She called the police and they took him in and charged him with domestic violence. She also complained he wasn't paying her spousal report. The truth is she is just lazy and doesn't want to work. She left my brother and his lawyer told him he doesn't owe her any support. They weren't even married very long maybe 4 years at the most. His son bailed him out. He was scheduled to go to court while he was going to be on vacation but his lawyer said he could postpone the date. I was glad because my brother was really looking forward to this vacation. Now she can't call or come over to his house or he can call the police on her. She can't stay away for more than a week so this should be interesting. If she gets arrested she doesn't have anyone in her family that could afford to get her out so she better think long and hard before she goes back there.

I'm with Klassie...rise above the chaos. I'm happy you and Charlie are getting some kid-free time. You'll feel better once school starts. Guess your time with the 2 little terrors make Sam seem like a little angel! It's all relative and you just have to have faith and patience. Be sure to make time to step back and take care of you.
