Finally Exercising

I did a little Yoga on the Wii today. I wanted to do something on the Wii tonite but earlier in the day I had to take my foster daughters for a visit with their mother and then I had to take my 9 year old to hip hop class. My husband fixed dinner and then it was time to go to church. I am busy now trying to catch up on my spark points. It is after 9:00 and if I try to exercise now it will probably keep me awake.

Tommorrow is my daughter Tamela's birthday. She will be 10. She is having 3 friends over for a sleepover Saturday night. I am so not looking forward to that. I think I will take my daughter lunch tomorrow at school. I will go to Subway and that way I can join her.

    Sometimes working out at night can help people sleep better...But everyone is different. :)
And it sounds like you are doing a great job on such a busy schedule! Keep with it! emoticon

    Good start! You are sure to burn a lot of calories keeping up with the kids, too! It's nice of you to deal with the sleepover! She'll remember that for the rest of her life! Enjoy!

    Yoga on Wii? KUL BEANS! Glad to see you're making progress. When I started exercising yesterday, it was a joke. I am so out of shape that I didn't do very well. I think walking will be my mode-de-opertion for the near future....I CAN do that! Have a great time at the party with your daughter, they grow so quickly, now mine are having daughters of their own. Remember not to throw food in the gullet haphazardly-- it's so tempting when fixing it for little ones...and we forget to calculate it into our dailies. Plan ahead and don't let yourself get too hungry that you can't resist temptation!! I've tripped up because I didn't plan for an event. I always beat myself up after the fact. DON'T! Healthy Eating

Since eating healthier I have felt so much better. I had a nice breakfast of fruit today. It was so good and satisfying. Much better than the old breakfasts that usually included a lot of fatty items. My son Sam turned 13 yesterday. I had 2 bites of cake without frosting on them. I was so proud of myself. It isn't even that hard anymore not to eat unhealthy foods. Once in a while I may crave a little chocolate but now I can say no after 1 or 2 bites instead of half the box. My children are even starting to like healthier foods. They like wheat pasta. They even like the turkey pepperoni I gave them. There is hope for them yet.

Yesterday I spent over half the day with my foster daughters at urgent care. Due to having our computer and phone service switched over to AT & T Uverse I wasn't able to work on my sparkpeople points. When I got home last night I had about 13 minutes to logon and get my spark points for the day. I was also able to get my food entered in. It is so important to me to make sure I am staying on track. Without sparkpeople instead of being 14 pounds lighter, I would probably be 14 pounds heavier.

Blanket Maker

I've spent the day making blankets. They have a promotion at Disneyland where you can do some volunteer work and get free Disney tickets. I chose to make blankets. I did 10 blankets for 5 free tickets. My friend Connie helped. We didn't mind it. It felt good to do something nice for others. Due to the weather today our church was canceled. I missed that today. Other then that the day has been pretty good. My knee is feeling a lot better today because I wasn't on it much. I was on it a lot yesterday so it bothered me last night and this morning. I guess I better co.

Laid Back Saturday

I didn't get a lot of sleep last night. My daughter Tamela went to a Girl Scout event called Thinking Day. They celebrate the different countries. Tamela's troop chose Greece. The girls all wore sheets as togas and had wreath's on their heads. They got first place in the costumes. Tamela won the limbo contest. She said they all lifted her up. She was very excited. I picked Tamela and her friend Amaya up at 1:00 in the morning. It was hard for me to stay up so late. Once I got home though I was wide awake.

I took my son Sam shopping today for his birthday. He will be 13 on Monday. I got him 2 new pairs of shoes and some clothes. I let him pick his clothes out although I vetoed a pink shirt. Maybe I'm old fashioned but I just can't see pink on a boy. Sam and his brother Derrick are spending the night with their friend Brian. I watched Brian last night so his dad could go on a date.

Tamela went with my husband Charlie to a father daughter dance. Her friend Chelsea and her dad were there. They all had a good time. My husband and Tamela got their picture taken. It was really good.

I spent the evening with our 2 new foster daughters. Maya is 3 and Kierra is 4. They are really cute.

Guess I better go. I still have a lot of Spark reading to do.


Tired of the Pain

I am not the most graceful person. Sunday night I was going around the kitchen table to sit down for dinner. My foot hit something and down I went. Luckily the kitchen chair broke my fall. I landed right on my knee. I went to Urgent Care. They x-rayed it and said it didn't look broken. They told me to stay off it and rest which is not easy when you have a houseful of children. Our washing machine broke down in the meantime so Wednesday meant a full day at the laundry mat. I'm getting discouraged because I want to start exercising but am not able to. I just needed to blow off some steam. Thanks for listening.

    This is a great time to do strength training! Get some weights and work your arms and do ab twists! People get injured..It's part of life (even if we don't want it to be). So therefore make the most of it by working out the parts of your body that don't need to be healing. Keep positive and vent anytime you need to! Get better soon! emoticon emoticon

    One of the other girls on Working to Lose... has some really bad knee problems and she has been doing the chair exercises. Some days seem so discouraging but hang in there. Hopefully your knee will feel better soon and it isn't a big issue with your washer. Sending hugs and prayers your way!! emoticon

    What a shame! I hope your knee feels better soon. Perhaps some armchair exercises could work for you until you can get back to doing your regular routine.

    Have you thought of just doing upper body or chair exercises till you able to be out your leg again.

On & off for a year I fell tripped or otherwise would injur myself trying to hard.
