I found out that my metabolism is very slow. Where does it come from? It comes from the choices we make every day that are the blame. So we are the blame for ourselves.. When we starve ourselves on the yo-yo diets and eat bad foods, put bad toxins in our body, and be lazy and when we get so stress out and when we try all those different kids of pills that say they help with weight loss so yes we are the ones who is damaging our bodies. We have the power to do something about it. You can get your metabolism back on track by eating healthy and being more active and try cutting out all the stress.. I did some web surfing and found Wedmd is a great site. Here are a list of things you can do to get your metabolism going in the right direction.
Yes we need to build muscle.. Every pound of muscle uses about 6 calories a day just to sustain itself, while each pound of fat burns only 2 calories daily. That small difference can add up over time.
Yes we need to push our workouts up a notch. The key is to push yourself. High-intensity exercise delivers a bigger, longer increase in resting metabolic rate than low- or moderate workouts..
Yes we need to drink more water. Our body needs more water to process the calories we put in. The more you drink the better off you be.Try to drink a glass of water before and after each meal and snack.
Always have your drinks on the rocks. Yes ice-cold beverages prompt the body to burn more calories. So go ahead and put ice in your glass..
We need to eat more often. See when you eat three large meals with many hours in between you are training your metabolism to slow down. It's best to eat smaller meals and snacks every 3-4 hours to keep your metabolism cranking so you can burn more calories over the course of the day...
Go ahead an spice up your meals.. See by spicing up your meals your metabolism will kick in high gear.By eating a tablespoon of chopped red or green chili pepper can boost your metabolic rate by 23 percent. Try putting it in your pasta dishes, chili, stews with red-pepper flakes.
Eat more protein as your body will burn up to twice as many calories.. Although you want to eat a balanced diet, replacing some carbs with lean, protein-rich foods can jump-start the metabolism.Healthy sources of protein include lean beef and pork, fish, white meat chicken, tofu, nuts, beans, eggs, and low-fat dairy products.
Drink black coffee so if you're a coffee drinker and look for that cup of coffee in your morning ritual. You can burn up to 50 extra calories over the next few hours after having a cup of black coffee. Just make sure it black without any cream and sugar and flavored syrups. Cause if you add them you take in more calories than you burn.
Drink green tea has been known to up your metabolism as well. Research suggests drinking 2-4 cups per day will push your body to burn an extra 50 calories each day. Which can add up to 5 pounds of weight loss in a year..
Avoid crash diets as those involving eating fewer than 1,000 calories a day. The final result is a body that burns far fewer calories will gains weight faster than the one you had before the diet.
Best bets. Your best bet for creating a mean calorie-burning machine is to build muscle and stay active. The more you move during the day, the more calories you burn. And remember: working out in the morning has the benefit of revving up your metabolism for hours.
So if you have a slow metabolism than this will help you as well. I just wanted to share what I found out about slow metabolism....
