Well I found information on the new pointsplus plan for WW.From what I read it is very sample to use and follow I think it is very exciting and interesting to try something new once in a while. So I wanted to share the information with all my friends here on spark.
The PointsPlus formula uses Protein, Carbohydrate, Fiber, and Fat grams.
What Else Changed in the Points Plus
* Daily Points allowances have gone up.
* Treating yourself is encouraged.
* Weight Watchers food products will be going up in points values (an indicator that perhaps the branded food products are not particularly nutritious?).
• Fresh fruits and non-starchy vegetables are “free”, that is their POINTS PLUS value is zero.(except starchy vegetables (potatoes, corn, peas) and avocado)!
Fruit juice, dried fruit and starchy vegetables will count toward the total POINTS allowed in a day.
• While calories are still a factor, choosing a meal of a poached egg, 3 ounces of ham and one slice of whole wheat toast will only count for 6 POINTS, while a breakfast such as a croissant with butter will have 7 – despite the fact that they are both 270 calories. This reflects the lower fat and higher fiber content of the first meal as being a more healthful choice.
• Weight Watchers will offer a list of “power foods” – a 40,000-product database that compares nutrients and highlights the healthiest choices.
Current Weight Watchers members will get the new POINTS PLUS program material for free. Cookbooks and other materials with the old POINTS system will be updated soon.
So exactly what does the new PointsPlus system mean for you?
Keep in mind that the PointsPlus™ values are different from POINTS® values. The PointsPlus™ values are calculations that consider protein, fiber, fat and carbohydrates, not just fiber and fat. In addition, the new system features what are called special Power Foods that aren’t just healthy, but also filling so that you’ll feel satiated and temptation-free while noshing on these super foods.
Weight Watchers New PointsPlus program
Here is how the PointsPlus™ plan works: When you sign up for Weight Watchers, you will receive a daily PointsPlus™ Target, which you use along with the PointsPlus™ values of foods to make sure you’re eating the right amount for weight loss. Your daily PointsPlus™ Target is personalized to you.
For those existing Weight Watchers’ members, what you’ll find are many of the same foods, but some of them now may have a higher Points value assigned to them based upon their revised nutrient profile. The PointsPlus™ program does not restrict food categories, and strongly promotes eating tons of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, including vegan protein options and whole grains.
You can use the PointsPlus system whether your dining in or eating out. If you’re a Weight Watchers Online or Weight Watchers eTools subscriber, you can use the PointsPlus™ Calculator to find the PointsPlus™ values of restaurant foods, and you can also consult the Eating Out Guide. Weight Watchers Meetings Members can also use the A-Z food list found in the Pocket Guide, or purchase the Complete Food Companion, and the Dining Out Companion to help them plan for your night out.
The PointsPlus™ system is a more robust and comprehensive way to categorize foods and provide you with more nutrient-rich options to eat whether you’re losing weight or eating to maintain your healthy lifestyle. Currently, it is only available in the U.S.
new motto! The program is really simpler than it seems.

BUY NOW! If you are going to buy the Calculator and/or Kits, buy them NOW even if you are not officially “joining” until January. The reason being is Weight Watchers got “price smart” in that they are rewarding current members with lower prices, but, taking advantage of the New Year’s Resolution's and raising their prices each month until they cap out in February.
The Deluxe Kit because it includes a CALCULATOR for Free & a COOKBOOK! It’s $34 now (but will go up to $39.95).
They have a smaller kit that cost 14.95 but it don't have all the cool stuff in it.That too will go up in price in Jan 2011
So as you see 29 points is the lowest you can get with this new plan and the weekly points are 49 flex points
You can eat all the fruits and veggies you want doing the day cause the are zero points.Wow I like that cause I can snack on veggies and fruit and it guilt free.
Boy do I love the new plan cause they encourage protein and whole grains.
I am a member right now bot due to change in income I might not be able to keep WW going and we have to budget our money so it will last a month and with a family of ten it wont be easy.So I might be doing WW on my own with out and help.Getting the information I need to use it for day by day.So let see how things go.
I hope this helps anyone who wanted to know about the new plan doesn't it sound great and interesting..Wow I think it great !!!!!!!
