The Competition is Back

Wednesday, February 06, 2013

It's time again for the biggest loser contest at work. It could not have come at a better time as I am in need of some motivation!!! So now not only do I get to look and feel better by hitting the gym and eating right, I also get a shot at winning some cash! Last year the contest is what motivated me to begin living healthy, not just diet. My spark began to fizzle when the stress of a new house, work, and family began to consume me. I am viewing that as a learning experience and I am ready to once again, Be the biggest loser!!

Do Over

Tuesday, December 04, 2012

I will never quit quitting! Cigarettes and other unhealthy habits always seem to get the best of me. Personal loss and family tragedy has been my latest excuse. 10+ lbs in 6 weeks has got me back for a reality check. I am back to try to be the best me I can be. I've done it before and this time I will learn to work through the excuses.

A New Week

Sunday, April 15, 2012

Today begins a new week and I am confident that I will make some changes. I am carefully planning my fitness routines and preparing meals to keep me on track. This journey has given me plenty of ups and downs, but I know that I have made improvements in my overall health. A big THANK YOU to all my friends at SP for motivating me and keeping me on track. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Thanks so much for the comment on my blog and adding me as a SparkFriend, that was so nice of you! Thanks also for the training shoes Goodie - usually I do PIlates, Yoga and walking but today I started to do strength training so they came in handy!! I agree - planning food for the week helps to avoid the little fat devil in our heads telling us to eat junk!

The Dreaded Plateau

Friday, April 13, 2012

I have learned what works best when it comes to my fitness routine and diet. I can't understand why have I stopped losing weight. I have been stuck for 2 weeks at the same weight and it is driving me crazy! Next week is our last week of the Biggest Loser contest at work. Any suggestions on how I can drop some pounds would be greatly appreciated!!

Try drinking a hot cup of green tea, with lemon four times a day (or more if you can)! When I get stuck, I stop for a day and detox my body out with this recipe. Works wonders!

My New Beginning

Sunday, April 01, 2012

I have began to notice my own trends. I start with the best of intentions and burn myself out. My new goal is to begin slowly and build up instead of jumping in with both feet to a knock down drag out workout. I am also scheduling some ME time just to relax my mind and body. I have come so far already and I intend to meet and exceed my goals. I am amped and ready to begin, again!

Yes, it is a healthy life style life. I try to live it day by day and if I mess up along the way, I just acknowledge it and move right along. Everyone has their ups & downs along the way, so don't be discouraged when you hit that bump in the road. I do not know one perfect person. I've been working on my last 10lbs for the last year. Things happen - Hubby had major surgery last July & I took leave of absence to care for him. My house is under renovation and at the moment I have no kitchen, so cooking on a hot plate in our son's bedroom. The latest thing is I had to have a cracked molar removed. As you can see - Things Happen, that life.

So try to think positively and look forward to the summer vacation.

I have always heard people say "it's a lifestyle change." I now understand how true that statement is. I am learning to make better habits and kick some old ones that obviously haven't been working so well. I think I just found my new blog topic!

I am SO with you on this... I always want to go with "If a little is good then A LOT is better, right?".... I myself am working on the slow and steady with my goals and expectations... because if exercise/nutrition plan is something you can only maintain when EVERYTHING in life is going well... then it's probably not a realistic plan... Lets make it work girl!!
