Stitch in time

It is day 4. I need to look at this health/weightloss journey as a crochet blanket. You know, you crochet squares and then stitch together about 100 squares and you have a nice blanket for the bed. In my 50 pound goal more like 500 squares. I naturally want to just finish a project TODAY - the whole blanket. However, today is day 4 and I have not crochet as much as I'd like, probably 1/2 of a small square. However I didn't rip out the other crochet squares I made over the past 3 days, I haven't gone backwards. I need to daily, sit down with my thin yarn and just work at it a stitch at a time, small choices such as water, diet soda instead of regular, 1 doughnut as opposed to 4, skipping a food choice I want. My body was screaming for a butterfinger blizzard on the long drive home tonite. Ohhhhh it makes the drive so much nicer to eat a blizzard after a long day at work. I pass the Dairy Queen and the car wants to turn in. HOWEVER I chose 'no'. I sipped a bottled water, yuck and nonsatisfying LOL. Today, it is one stitch here and there. I need to be satisfied and proud of myself for todays stitches.

Day 3, Long day, doing well

I am doing this for me, selfish? I need to be selfish. Otherwise I will disolve in a tired overweight puddle. I worked 10 hours today, then visited parents who are 81 years old, then as I was going to get in my jammies and sit on the couch, sis called me to go walking 2 miles. I weight my options: Big Brother on TV/ walk. It was a hard decision, felt the good angel/bad angel pull. WALKED! Yeaaaa Me! I feel good about it, and enjoyed visiting with my sister while we walked. Win/win. I did not feel like walking - don't think I did...but knew I needed to, in order to meet my goals. Ate and made food choices that frankly I didn't want to, but I have to be conscience of my health and make it a priority, put 'feelings' aside. Not a BIG record, but 3 days in a row, aint bad.

    FANTASTIC!! Ain't bad doesn't begin to tell it. You were tired, had already put in a full day and then you passed up the hard-earned rest and went walking for TWO MILES!! With that kind of commitment, you are sure to succeed. You've inspired me to work harder to get in my exercise today too. I'm handicapped, so walking 2 miles is something I can only dream about, but by taking baby steps today (and every day) maybe someday I'll be able to do that too. Day 2, Not easy, but do-able

I am going to struggle with staying focused and not veering off my goals. My husband came home grumpy yesterday and it just puts a 'tone' in the air. I am more on edge as I am trying to make these health changes. With God all things are possible. I am tracking all my foods - getting better at 'clicking the right things'. It keeps tabs on everything - love it! Walked 2 miles, water, ate well...could have done better. But stayed within my calories and totals - yeaaaaa me!

    Some days, staying within the calorie ranges and getting some exercise are a huge success so good job!

New Beginning - Baby Steppin It

I am about 6 hours into my first day. I have 50 pounds I need to lose according to my calculations - that is ALOT and very daunting, but I am motivated. I am just going to take one hour at a time and do my best. I worked this morning and have followed a good diet and thrown in a little extra walking already and am drinking my H2O. I am going to work on my home this afternoon since I have a few hours and need to do some cleaning. As a reward, I am going to set up a new seashell fountain I bought at Cracker Barrel and light a new candle - I am excited about new possibilities and improving my life and health.

    You can do it. I am about 30 pounds into my 50 pound goal. It has taken me almost a year a half, so don't give up if it seems like it is taking forever. If you haven't already, check out some of the success stories. I find the ones who have lost 100 pounds plus especially inspiring.
