WALK/JOG AT LUNCH

Tuesday, May 10, 2011

So already blogged today but was feeling super good so wanted to put this to "paper"...maybe a reminder when I am not feeling as wonderful.

I headed out for a walk at lunch but was feeling energetic that I wanted to jog a bit. I walked/jogged intermittently so my pace was faster than a normal walk and slower that what I used to be able to do 5K at BUT what made me feel encouraged was that when jogging I seemed to be going at not bad of a pace (between 11-13 minute/mile pace when jogging- 2.44 miles in 36 minutes gave me an average of about a 15 minute mile total). I have not been running consistently and when I have tried to jog I have been with the dog which comes it added challenges. At lunch it was just me and my tunes.... emoticon I have a new fav jogging song BTW it's "HELLO", but I can't remember who sings it now, it's a different name/group. Very up beat!!!!!!!!!! Seriously motivated me to get moving.

I would like to bottle up my good feeling right now for when I am struggling... emoticonAnyway, I do think that the improving weather/sunshine emoticon is helping my mood and I am trying to take more time for me/my mental health.

I hope you are all having a good day! I better gobble down my lunch and get back to some work since I have lots on my professional plate this week!

I need to remember to bring my runners so that I can get on track doing this at work too. There's a small group of ladies who walk and a few who are training for a local marathon that's coming up that run at lunch too.

But then, I've got a new workout plan at home too, her name is Penny - after one am walk at 6, she was pestering me on day two already. Silly mutt! I know now that she'll be on our case tonight too. Oh the weight that we will lose - poor puppy needs it too. I'm lucky that I live where I can let the dog go off leash, so I only have to worry about her sneaking up behind me for a pet, rather than wrapping her leash around the nearest obstacle, like I've dealt with when I lived in town.

Enjoy your mental health time! I need it too or I'd probably be all sorts of crazy!

Didn't get out on that intended walk at lunch yesterday but maybe today. LOVE that the sun is shining again today! emoticon

My sister won tickets to see a band (Manchester Orchestra???) in Toronto with overnight accommodations for next Monday and invited me. I did a detour this morning and walked through some nice trails near our house which was a nice change! Beautiful sunrise!!!!!!!!!!!!!
