Radial Head Fracture

Friday, March 22, 2013

After so long off the the right track have finally decided to come back and give it yet another try ... emoticon

Last year was pretty much a wipe out year with having so much time off work due to a cancer scare from February - April and in May finally having a cancer removed from my nose (not a pretty sight but with a good result) emoticon and then in November my Son was critically injured as a passenger in a car accident, breaking 3 bones in his neck & head trauma (also with a good end result) emoticon

This year decide he was well enough for me to go back to work and walking to work on Tuesday afternoon I tripped and fell over raised / uneven footpath hitting the ground hard cutting my mouth / lips & sore left knee & pain in my right arm emoticon

After phoning my beautiful Daughter-In-Law who came to save me she had one look @ me with my lips bleeding profusely and the pain I was in she drove me straight to hospital - and after having x rays found out I have a radial head fracture (which is one of three bones in the elbow) - so with my left knee bruised swollen & sore & my lips looking like Donald Duck and my arm in a sling I am out of action again but on reflecting as I always try to look at the positives and my thoughts are ... it could have been so much worse with me possibly splitting my head open & could have broken my leg as well and with me being right handed the other good news is I can't get a fork or spoon up to my mouth, lol emoticon

You have had enough for the next years, so just rest up. If you start feeling really hungry you will learn to eat left-handed. In the meantime emoticon . emoticon

Yikes! What a year you've had. And your accident sounds terrible. Now is a time to rest up from exercise but you can always start work on your diet. Don't give up.

Take care and get better soon!

Oh Judy, sorry to hear that it did not work for you, and you wasted your money on it. I did not end up buying one but I am still interested in a "Vibration Machine" I have heard good things about it, but there are so many out there now, I'm not sure if the cheaper ones would be any good.
Thanks for your comment emoticon emoticon

I had the Ab Doer and it was a great clothes rack. LOL I sold it not long ago for 1/4 of what I paid for it. It is a joke!! You need your personal trainer to make sure you are using it the right way. You need to know how to move just right in order for your muscle to be worked correctly. Then good luck ! doesn't seem to do much for them. That is my take on the AB Dore.

Have finally purchased new weight scales that have all those new fang dangle extras like total body water % - body fat % - bone density & k/cals etc, but they are weighing me less than what I was on my old scales ... luv'em for that!
so, not sure what to do ...
should I start my weight loss tracker etc again and start over - or what ??? emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I would say no. Just carry on as normal.

Give yourself a boost into thinking you have lost more.

Yes. Use the information on your new scales. I have a similar one. Omron is the maker of mine. Love it!

Since this is the scale you are going to be using, start over with that information.

I say no - there will be enough weeks where you should have lost and it doesn't show on the scale for one reason or another.. so take it for "free" when you can get it. :)

Good Morning to all. I am here to ask is there anyone out there who uses or has used supplements to help loose weight/fat ?
You know one of those fat metabolises, appetite suppressants, thermogenic type products.
I would appreciate your views and thoughts.
I don't know if it is because I'm getting older or not but it seems just so hard to move the scales in the right direction.
Look forward to your replies.

Those things are all talk and no action! You might not see results straight away but I promise they'll come! Good luck! x

PLEASE DON"T do that yet. Too many different opinions and too many that get pulled off the market after years of doing damage to people like us (in my slightly informed opinion).
Get a book on GI index (the one I used was "sugar Busters) or find a team here to join. I saw it but not good at searching yet. Send a spark mail to DEBBRAM to ask about the sugar busters book or to SMCKNIGHTRN for help in finding teams if you need it.
I will be 75 yrs old in 2 wks. About 3.5 yrs ago in TOTAL ignorance about dieting and exercise I lost 66.2 lbs. W/ out counting calories or exercise, just eating ONLY foods in the safe category (would not want you to do that!). If I had been lucky enough to find this site I would have kept it off.
Love and Best Wishes, Louise emoticon
