Car washing, basketball, and 5ks!

Tuesday, May 28, 2013

Fun Fact:
Iím actually pretty good at basketball? Me and Tim played yesterday and I was doing cartwheels and handstands and playing frisbee and I felt great! We also washed his car and it was surprisingly tiring, but a great workout. We made a plan to run a 5k every Wednesday night together. This will be interesting because we've never run together before (he's lost 50 POUNDS in case I haven't mentioned that!). We are within 2 minutes of each other on our 5k times so hopefully we'll be able to!
Also, havenít stepped on a scale since the 17th and Iím not stressing about how much Iíve gained or lost, just how good I feel. I love this.

Sounds like you are having a blast! Exercise is so much easier when you are having fun!

Congrats on the non-scale journey thus far. So many people are worried about what the number on the scale is when it should be about how your body feels when fueled and exercised correctly. It's easier said than done! I, myself, still weigh in. I'd love to be where you are in that regards. Keep it up!

Post-College life!

Saturday, May 25, 2013

Hi all! I graduated college with a political science degree on May 18th! It feels weird and sad to be done (and to say goodbye to my roommates/best friends and the house I lived in this year) but I am ready for the future! I can't tell you how nice it's going to be to not have to do a long distance relationship anymore! After 2 years of long distance, it got really old.

As for weight loss, I got down to 230 about 2 weeks ago, which I was super happy about, but this past week has been filled with goodbye drinks, parties, and food, so I feel super bloated. Today is dedicated to organizing and cleaning my room since I just moved back home, and figuring out a routine, since that's when I make the most progress. Here's to keeping up my weight loss while adjusting to life after college!

First off, congrats on graduating college!

Secondly, give yourself a few days to get the hang of things. Life after college is very different, but it's great! Hang in there!

I so feel you about long-distance relationships! My first husband and I went to different colleges and lived in different cities (we met at a retreat). My fiancť lives in PERU, and last time I SAW him was last summer - won't see him again till NEXT summer. Glad we can at least talk on the phone!

Blessings to you on the journey to a healthy lifestyle with your honey at your side!

Found my groove :)

Friday, October 05, 2012

Today was so great. Everything has been so great lately, as a matter of fact. Fall is here, everything is pumpkin flavored, and I am happy!

Went for a run through the park this morning, set up my internship hours, cleaned my entire house, and now Iím relaxing!

Brunch consisted of egg whites with spinach and feta on whole wheat toast, snacks included an apple and a rice cake, and dinner was baked flounder with kale and whole wheat penne pasta. SO FREAKINí DELICIOUS.

I feel good and healthy. 14 pounds down from my starting weight and not stopping.

So it's been forever!

Sorry for not updating in so long (not like anyone actually reads this but whatever!)

This summer was the best summer I've had in regards to weight gain...usually I gain weight like crazy over the summer because everyone at my job orders breakfast and lunch (I used to eat a bagel or TWO a day, people!), but this summer I've stayed the exact same weight as when I finished last semester...247.6 pounds as of this morning. Now you all might be thinking, "why is she so happy? she didn't even lose!" but I'm beyond happy because I DIDN'T GAIN ANYTHING! Even if I didn't lose, I managed to break a terrible habit that I've been in for years, which is eating whatever the hell I want, whenever I want during the summer months without paying a speck of attention to diet and exercise. Hooray for breaking bad habits!

There have been so many changes in my life lately! I just started my senior year of college one week ago, and my work load is INSANE. 5 classes (including the hardest political science class you can take at my school) plus piano lessons! I guess that's what I get for choosing to major in political science, but it'll all be worth it when I go on to get my masters degree in the fall, and then go to law school after that! I live off campus in a house with two of my friends, but I donít get internet until Tuesday so Iím in the tech center on campus killing time until work at 6. I love my house and my roommates and everything has been going great. Me and Tim are doing well and I canít wait to see him and see Jason Mraz in a weekkkk!:)

My meals have been really healthy for the most part. The only time Iíve eaten badly is if Iím out, but I have literally not one bad food item in my house so I canít mess up:)

I think Iím gonna try to go to the gym on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays since Iíll be on campus for class, I can go right home afterward to shower, and I donít have work those days.

Hope everyone is doing well :D

YOU ROCK . . . . You do NOT have to constantly be LOSING weight to be healthier and to be successful. By maintaining your weight all summer long, you have allowed your body to readjust to the current weight, to take a practice run at maintaining your weight - when you are not ACTIVELY dieting, and you will probably start to lose again once you are back on your normal schedule. You should be dancing for JOY - staying the same is almost as good as losing when in the past you would have GAINED a bunch of weight.
