Glad THAT is over with!!

Wednesday, March 09, 2011

I do so hate getting sick. Not even the computer is entertaining to me. So even though I am finally feeling better... I am waayyy behind on everyone's news.
emoticon
And, of course, this is going to be a busy (but super fun!!) time off.
emoticon
So, here is my official "You are all super-de-duper awesome!!" post. I will try to check in often with you all.

I remember when....

Monday, February 28, 2011

One never knows where they are going to get their Spark from.

I just got an email say that my cousin just set an American record on Sunday, winning the women's shot put at the USA Indoor Track and Field Championships with a toss of 65-feet, 2 1/4 inches.

She was in China last year for the Olympics and did well although, sadly, no medal.

Funny thing is I still remember her as the little girl who was always tattling on us older kids.

I also remember her grandmother telling me (and anyone who would listen) she wished that my cousin would just give up all this silliness and work towards a career and a family. Until she made it into the Olympics...then you have never seen a more proud grandmother. Go figure.

This all makes me think about all the hard work, all the pain, and negative thoughts that she had to go through to get where she is.

And all I need to do is go to the gym.

Sheesh.

As I like to say, "Time to suck it up, Buttercup!"

Ok Butter cup - yep its time to suck it up. I will do the same !!! Time to actually toss on my sports bra and grap the ipod and do day one of the C2K. Im faithfully training for a 5k on April 17th. Im an elected official and will be officiating the event and promised on TV that I would run it and Ive not started.

Yep time for me to suck it up buttercup ;)
Thanks for the reminder - anything in this life is worth working hard for and frankly, much easier to appreciate in the long run.

Laureen

It is amazing how much work professional athletes put into their craft. It is definitely a complete inspiration.

Rock on, gorgeous.

Hope this inspires you to never give up on all your silliness. That's the message I'm taking away. Embrace your silliness, whatever it may be!

Okay, men...you might want to cover your eyes and move on. I will wait....

They gone??

Okay, I have been planning a huge rant about stupid plateaus. Plans were brewing to go on and on about how I have been working my butt off AND staying within range AND drinking piss tons (well it wouldn't be $hit tons...) of water.

Then I found out....ta da...TOM.

Really??? Well, okay then. Perhaps being only 1/2 a pound from a mini goal isn't so bad then.

Now to not go eat everything in sight....

**giggle** well, at least you know you're not pregnant! I used to HATE TOM. I always gained 5 to 10 lbs. water weight, bloated up, and felt like sh*t too. Give it a couple days and maybe you'll discover that you've not only met your mini-goal but dropped below it!!!! (I'm "an old lady" now and don't have to deal with that hassle anymore...but I DO remember how lousy it was!) emoticon

Being a 1/2 lb away from your mini goal is awesome!!! I'm with you- I am trying not to eat everything in sight and I'm not even on my TOM!

You will prolly drop a pound by morning the way you've been working out. I haven't had a TOM in several years but I would always drop some right after I started.

I also would eat everything in sight..UGH! Don't miss that part and I'm sure my hubby doesn't miss the raging PMS either, lol.

Reminders

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

This weekend was a lot of working out and working on my side job.

This was the look I was getting from my girl:

Pretty pathetic. But an excellent reminder to get up and stretch out (and give her lovin') regularly.
