This pretty much says it all.

I still remember the sound of the ice cream truck would make when it would roll into the neighborhood nearby. My bike would always "catch him". :)

I would chase the ice cream truck but there are too many kids in my neighborhood I would catch it too quickly lol

Have you heard of Pedal Tavern? I was in Nashville this weekend and chasing an ice cream truck totally reminded me of those pedaling beer guzzlers!

True Blood workout

For your amusement, especially EMMY_DUCKIE149...

    hahahahaah thanks for the shoutout!

I wrote in someone else's post that I really liked the Southern Vampire series until about the third-to-last book or so. She got really complacent, I felt, because of TrueBlood's popularity.

I didn't like TB at first because it deviated SO FAR from the books.

I decided to get over it. I have seen the first three seasons and... gosh darn, I just can't stay motivated to watch. It's So Cheesy. And if it's not cheesy, it's a shy step away from porn. And since the only place I can watch it (HBO) is at my parents' house... Uhh... hahahaha

So. Cheesy.

And poor Bill. Poor Bill always has his hair in his eyes, and he's looking out from under them, and exhaling on "Sookie." And when you're up against a Viking, that doesn't play out well in stature standoffs.

But Eric Northman is mine. I've loved that beast since book one, and Alexander Skarsgard... ooooooooo om noms

I'll do squats for him any day. I'd even throw in push-ups AND pull-ups.

(Trails off in Eric Northman-induced fantasy)

Universe smacking me in the head

Monday, June 17, 2013

Friday I got the results from my annual check-up. Everything is normal except my Vitamin D (welcome to the Pacific NW!) and...cholesterol.
emoticon
What?? I've always had normal cholesterol AND I've been eating enough veggies to choke a....me.

The thing that gets me really pissed (better what my blood pressure!) is that my DH eats like a trucker/kid and had a cholesterol of 150.
emoticon
Makes me crazy. Glad he is healthy, but aaaarrrrggg.

So I had a brief moment late Friday night after spending time with friends. I drove to Wendy's after. I got it stuck in my head that what was the point? I mean, really. Why make myself crazy over food if my numbers are going to get WORSE???

Believe me when I say, those thoughts had way more colorful language that that.

I had decided to get fries and chicken (cuz that is healthier, right??). Good Sam and Bad Sam were having an argument the entire way. I was about to order and the woman told me that they were out of fries and chicken.
emoticon
Okay, Universe. I get it.

I drove away.

Then Sunday I got this in my email.

Alright, alright! Fine.

Geez. The Universe can be kind of pushy....

Run as a job??

Thursday, June 13, 2013

I know this isn't for everyone, but I could be a cool job for those that run way more than I do.
And I do so love the Westin beds. If I could sleep on one after *every* race, that would be just super.

I think I would be very good at the sleeping but not so good at the running.... perhaps I should look for a different job...

Does sound like it would be a neat job for someone who runs a lot. I don't run enough to do it though. But someone will really enjoy the job

I've often thought that a "fitness" related job would be pretty awesome -- and a surefire way to stay in shape without having to worry about going to the gym all the time and fitting it in between work etc. let me know if you figure it out!

Wait a minute. I'd have to run in Chicago? Holy crap! That was one of the hottest half marathons I have ever run. And one of my slowest. 21 Jule is no time to be running a half.

Besides, the Westin page says the finalists will run in the Rock 'n' Roll Chicago Marathon. There is only a Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon in Chicago. I am not sure I would trust someone who doesn't even know their product.

TIMOTHYNOHE 6/13/2013 12:44PM

And they sponsor your running? Ok, so I would have to do Rock 'n' Rolls (I swore off those after this year unless one absolutely meshes perfectly with my schedule, but dude! How cool would that be? I would lose nothing by applying.

Of course they are probably looking for some 20- or 30-something with a 15% body fat who runs a sub-3:00 full not a 60-year old at 21% who runs a super-2:00 half.

But what do I have to lose?

Thanks!
