Pretending I don't have any change...

Thursday, January 24, 2013

Must. Stay. Away. From. Vending. Machine.

Getting to work at 4:30am this morning is starting take its toll. I know my cravings are because I'm tired.

So I'm sticking to gum instead of crap, but someone's lunch smells gooooood.....

And to help lighten my mood

    Puppy. Now.

I have lots of gum and mints stashed. When I'm freaking out, that's what I go for. Keeps my mouth busy and adds a little flavor. Keep up the motivation and determination!

www.publicstairs.com has a map of the staircases in Seattle - great for Big Climb training... and there's also a Facebook group - Friends of Public Stairs.

I just read in Seattle magazine (while being iced at PT) that there's a book that has walks that incorporate stairs. I'll bet you it includes that horrendous staircase from lake Washington blvd up to the I90!

LOL I would think it was animal cruelty if it were not taken in the spur of the moment! I did see this before - my dog wouldn't put his head underwater even for his favorite toy though!

Clearing out & starting over

Wednesday, January 02, 2013

I set all my streaks to zero yesterday. I like the idea of starting them over to get a real sense of how I'm doing.

Sadly, I also weighed myself after a very heavy exercise 2 weeks.

I pulled down most of my medals I had hanging at work.

Now it looks kinda bare

Three people have walked by my office and commented already on the missing medals. Guess that means I better get on the stick and earn more bling!

Now to find the time to actually *clean* my office.

I was just doing a year end cleaning and the medals just seemed a natural part of it.

I've got a hanger at home, but I don't see my hallway nearly as much as I do my office.

It was just time.

Happy new year, happy starting over!

You had quite a collection of medals!!! I'm kinda curious why you pulled some of them down, too. Just more room for the new ones?

Scientific experiment with my Fitbit

Tuesday, January 01, 2013

I tried something different this morning.

I get tired of my running laps in the pool and not have it count on my Fitbit. So I sealed it in a Seal-a-Meal pouch. I then clipped it to my bathing suit.

I did 400 laps (the approximate distance of a 1/2 marathon), but it only registered 15,000 steps.

Not a complaint of the Fitbit. Just a scientific experiment.

Hope everyone had a good start to the new year!
