I actually ran in public on Saturday. I did 6 miles of walking 3 minutes and running 1 minute.
I had a Gymboss (wee timed vibrator) on my arm to remind me when to do either. It would have been impossible for me to do that without it! For those that are interested, I picked it and the band up from Amazon.
No land speed records were set, but I did knock 2 minutes off of my average minutes per mile. I'll take that!!
The other good news is that while my knee was a bit sore by the end of the day...no real pain. Aside from some of my muscles that are wondering what the hell happened.
I went straight from my 6 miles to the Olympus Spa where I soaked in the 60 degree pool for 15 minutes.
Oh, man was that cold, but I think that my running friends were right and it really did help with the inflammation in my joints.
There were several women that walked by me shocked that I was still in the cold pool. Talk about a conversation starter!
So here it is Monday and I have a few sore spots. I've done the stairs here at work a few times now and I'm feeling it.
But weather permitting (that is kinda iffy) I have everything packed to go do it again after work. So please send your sunshine thoughts over (or up or down) to Seattle!!
