New American Record!!

Friday, February 17, 2012

For those that haven't heard me go on and on about my cousin, here is the Reader's Digest Version:

She place 12th in the last Olympics....she is going to London...and now???

She just set a new American record in shot put.

emoticon

And of course I have a video of it all.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYMEgYZC5gc

We are just so proud of her!

Her dad can't travel due to his poor health and her mom isn't very comfortable in foreign places. My dad *loves* to travel (Army Air Corp brat), so he went to China with them for the last Olympics. He was such a help to her mom last time that he is slated to go to London this time around.

Every time I watch videos or commercials with her in them I think the same thing. That was the little girl that would run around in pig tails and tattle on us all the time.

Which is followed by a big grin and "Atta girl!"

It is the little things

Friday, February 17, 2012

I feel that I need to refocus my positive attitude. Because lately it has been a bit neglected.

And with it goes my motivation to work out.

I began this process last night with some time at a very girly place. Hairs have been ripped out and nails are done.
This time I went with the OPI color inspired by Miss Piggy called "Excusez-moi". I still wish they had one called "Hiiiiii-ya!!"
Here is the over the top girly color (yes that is a whole lotta glitter in the polish) and my caffeine. Two great things in one picture.

I know, I know...I'm a dork. I just choose to embrace it.

This weekend's plans is to give the Jeff Galloway run-walk-run thing a shot.

Yes, Virginia, Sam is going to try running in public.

Although it is going to be **early** in the morning....when it is not completely light out...

Hugs to all my SP friends, but super-de-duper big hugs to those that really need it.

Nice!!! I think it your attitude could be contagious. For me, it's sometimes harder to improve my attitude than to run a few miles!

Have a sparkly weekend!

Glad you found your positive! I have yet to grow the cajones to run outside. Maybe I can scrape a little positive off you and give it a shot =) I'm going to look up that book you mentioned on my blog. Thanks for the support!

What do you do??

Thursday, February 09, 2012

Not surprising to me that this last week was a bit wacky and I somehow (yeah, yeah....I know how....) gained 5 lbs.

Here is the question.

Do you change your weight on your tracker when you gain or do you leave it be?

I'm inclined to change it, but just curious what others do.

I like Holly's approach. I don't believe for a second that this is real weight (would be thinking the same thing if it was on my scale) so I'd watch it and see if some portion of it does turn out to be real.

Once a week. That 5 pound gain in one day is totally transitory.

I only log it if it more than 2lbs but to be honest I gained 5lbs over Christmas and never logged it. It is more important to be honest with yourself so do whatever is going to make that happen

I change it....I weigh in for a team I'm on every Thursday...I am up 5.8 pounds today from this time last week...normal for me during Pre-TOM...I hated to log it but I just stay faithful to the weigh day...only good thing is when I weigh again next week it will look like I lost A LOT!! LOL....it can be such a challenge being a girl :)

If it is more than 2 or 3 lbs, I change it. Like I'll be doing today... damnit. Stupid ankle.

When I gain and KNOW it's water weight, I give myself 48 hrs. If I don't lose it, I change my ticker.

I change it. Even if I know its water weight, my official weigh in day is my day. Period. yuckie or not

I usually change it if gain. I hate doing it but I feel like I need to in order to be honest with myself.

Hopefully you'll be able to get back on track soon!
