I've been having issues with my scale. The actual scale.

I could stand on it 3 times or more back to back and the weight would change between 0-4 lbs.

Tried new batteries. No good.

Then I thought about how long I had that scale. Maybe it is time for a new one.

Got the new one all set up. And it read 4 lbs less.

So all this work *is* paying off.

Boooo-yaaaa!!

But now I have to wonder how many times my old scale lied to me.

Screw it. I'm taking the win!

With all the shopping during the holidays, I thought you all should know.


I don't how many of you shop at Costco, but I became a victim of a clever scam in their parking lot. It happened to me and it could happen to you!!

Here's how the scam works:

Two seriously good-looking well-built guys in their 20s came over to my car as I was placing packages in the trunk. They both were shirtless and started wiping the windshield with a rag and Windex with their highly-defined chest muscles and rock-hard abs exposed. It was impossible not to look. They asked for a ride to 10th Street. I agreed and they get In the back seat. On the way, they start talking dirty about what they want to do to me. Then one of them climbs over into the front seat and begins kissing my neck and begs me to pull over so he can make love to me!! While this is going on the other guy steals your purse!!

I had my purse stolen last Tuesday, Wednesday, twice on Thursday, again on Saturday, and also yesterday and most likely again tomorrow.

It started with the fact that I moved a 1 1/2 cords of wood on Saturday.

I was signed up for a 5k walk the next day.

5k.

I've done it plenty of times. At a higher weight I've done 15 miles. But I was sore and it was %$&#@&% cold!

Turns out the walk was in a lollipop shape. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I thought I could just turn around and no one will know. And if they did know....they aren't going to care.

I knew there was an icky hill coming up....and I was cold....and I was sore....and they already got my money for the fundraiser....and I was cold....and....and....

Then I had another one of my "Suck it up, Buttercup" moments.

This is something along the lines of how the conversation went:

"Really? You are going to turn around to shorten the walk by....what....a mile?? Gurrrrl, you are going to cheat yourself out of a mile because it might be hard? Because you might get out of breath on the hill? Suck it up, Buttercup!"

My inner voice can be kind of a bitch. What really stinks is that she was right.

So I told her, "Fine. Would ya shut up already! I'm going."

Thankfully, none of this was out loud.

I did it. The hill sucked....I sucked wind...but I did it.

Mostly because I knew that I would either have to lie to *everyone* or tell everyone the truth.

And I knew both options would hurt more than the soreness in my legs.

We got our wood for the winter yesterday. And since DH is still fighting a cold I told him that I would stack it.

BodyBugg results for the occasion:
Just over 2 hours of moving wood around.
Just under 1000 calories
Just over a mile in steps


Guess who slept really well last night AND who isn't going to the gym today...

Of course, I have my Cancer Moves Me walk today.

Now what did I do with that Advil.....

Turkey Toss

Woodland Park Zoo (the coolest zoo ever!) is doing their Turkey Toss this Saturday!

Double awesome since we get to see them doing enrichment with the animals and get in extra miles trying to catch them all.

Last year I walk just shy of 6 miles from going back and forth trying to see ALL the cuteness.
