I do four of these every time.

Probably shouldn't mention which ones...

Update and things I've found

Tuesday, April 15, 2014

I just looked at the date of my last post. emoticon

I've been enjoying the crazy roller coaster ride of hormones messing with me. As a woman that never did and never does have any intention of having kids, this bugs me even more (or maybe it is the hormones!!)

I've been doing Hermit Mode with most everyone (except work...mores the pity) and trying to work my way back. I'm hoping the sun being out helps!

One of the things that help me back on track was this photo shoot.

Honestly, it was a mix of being inspired and a bit of shame. But whatever it takes, right? I'm also wearing my Portland 1/2 marathon Boston Strong shirt today. Thankfully, I work in a place that doesn't have a problem with such things.

As I get ready for the 1/2 marathon season again, I was happy to have found this.

I'm hoping that they make it available to devices other than the iPad!

Those Boston pics... We're all Boston Strong.

We can be hermits together for a bit. I'd love to get away from people for a wee smidge of time. As someone who lived by herself for three years at law school, moving back in with my parents has been... ahem... quite the challenge...

We're always here for you! :)

Timing is everything

Wednesday, March 05, 2014

So I took my first kickboxing class last night.

Work is still stressing me out, so I thought it would help. And it did. The instructor even made the comment that she could tell I saw *something* on the bag that was driving me.

Enough that when I woke up this morning with one of my knuckles red-ish and with a teeny scar.

Soooo, nice to go after work to blow off steam, but might have to try the early morning classes so as to not injure myself.

Kickboxing sounds like an awesome experience! May just need some of that myself!

Also that cartoon is hilarious.

I like the videos, but prefer to have something to make contact with.

I did wear gloves. But I think I may have gotten a bit carried away.

I used to pretend the head pin when I was bowling was someone I didn't like. Really helped me with getting strikes!

Glad you have a healthy outlet. Maybe you need gloves though? Kickboxing is a tough but effective workout.

Hang in there!

Motivational slip up

Tuesday, February 11, 2014

I wasn't able to complete the Seattle Quadzuki last year (4 half marathons in 4 days), but I still ended up with the sweatshirt.

Since I plan on signing up again this year, I decided to hang the sweatshirt up as a reminder to get off my butt. Thankfully there isn't a date on it, so once I earn it I can wear it.

I hung the dark green sweatshirt up on a light colored wall. Thinking that would make it stand out more.

Soooooo...last night at about 2am I woke up to thinking there was someone standing in the corner of our room. Scared the crap out of myself and took awhile for me to go back to sleep.

I need figure out how to rig it so that I wake up to that when I need to get up and work out.

Meanwhile, coffee is my friend this morning.

Hahaha. That sounds like something I'd do - scare myself in the middle of the night! That is quite the challenge - very impressive goal!

This so sounds like things that happen to me when I wake up in the middle of the night... or practically anytime since I live in a basement apartment so its dark most of the time. emoticon What about hanging it outside your bedroom?

Wow. That sounds like something I would do. (I have a very active imagination and an atavistic fear of the dark. Makes my evening commutes *interesting*.)

Good luck on the training!
