I slipped on my diet today. i started the day fine, then i saw some clam chowder in the fridge and i couldn't resist. Since i'm sick, creamy, clammy soup sounded so good. And it was. I really enjoyed it. Then i had a couple of pieces of dark chocolate. i'm pretty disappointed in myself. Especially since i haven't really exercised this week. Oh well, tomorrow is a new day. Tomorrow will be a true test since I'll be at my parent's and they always have SO MUCH food to eat there.

    I sliped tonight too. I am getting right back up tho! Tomorrow is a new day! This is a lifetime- not a diet your just on for the time being... you know? SO when you get back on- your on- thats it! in fact we need to learn to just eat a serving of what we are craving- and not feel bad.... just move more! I have this thing where when I over eat- I dont even log what I eat- I just start over the next day- I really need to not get in the hang of just logging what I eat- it will really keep me from going over board! (like tonight LOL)

You'll do great- every day and every choice is a learning experience!!! :)

Turns out this 3 week-long "cold" is actually a bronchial infection, or bronchitis. The reason I've been sick for so long is because I needed antibiotics to kick this. So, the doctor gave me Z-pack. Funny, i didn't really have body aches until i took my first dosage yesterday. My knees and legs are hurting me. The good thing is that this is highly curable and I should be feeling better in the next few days. :) My workouts have suffered some (I've skipped a few since I dont' really have the energy), and i'm bummed about that, but I think today I'll do a relaxing pilates video instead of my usual 60 minute run on the treadmill .

    Glad you've got the medication, and hope you soon feel much better. You do right to skip the exercise when you are not well - it can slow down your recovery, so don't beat yourself up about it - you'll soon catch up once you are well again.

    Glad to hear you are on the mend. It is really good when you can say what it is that is making you feel ill and that they can treat it. Take it easy and slowly get back into things. Good Luck.

Today i was on the phone with my mom and she told me that i had to put myself back out there. I was kind of taken aback when she said that. I didn't realize she had noticed that I stopped living my life when i went through my depression and gained all of this weight a few years ago.

I've always been a homebody. I like being at home. That's just me--But a few years ago when i gained all of this weight, i completely blocked everybody and everything out. I stopped talking to friends, I stopped going out, I stopped being social...in a sense, i stopped living. Part of it had to do with my weight gain and part of it had to do with severe depression that I was going through.

now that i've lost 89 lbs (!!!!!) I'm feeling more confident and better about myself. Getting back ou tthere is scary but I know i have to make an effort. I can only benefit from it. So i'm going to add that to my goals for August. I'm going to try to be more social.

Perpetually sick

Apparently that "cold" i wrote about a few weeks ago isn't really a cold. I've been taking a new medication that causes "flu-like symptoms". Why do medications make one thing better and other things worse? I guess I can't complain too much because, on the bright side of things, i'm LUCKY to even have insurance coverage. I hope my body adjusts to the new medication quickly.
