ACED HER WAY THROUGH SCHOOL UNDER NOT THE BEST FAMILY CIRCUMSTANCES

PUT HERSELF THROUGH COLLEGE AND IS A PHENOMENAL 5TH GRADE TEACHER

BATTLES AND WINNING OVER A STRESS INDUCED WEIGHT GAIN

WONDERFUL MOTHER TO TWIN GIRLS AGED THREE

RUNS HALF MARATHONS AND IS TRAINING FOR A FULL MARATHON

I COULD GO ON BUT IM SURE SHE WOULD GET EMBARASSED.

Food Tracking and my confession and complaining and whinning

Well, i stopped using the food tracker.

I got so busy there for a couple weeks. Running from one small commitment to another and also just grabbing food on the go and not being mindful of what i was eating .

and then getting stressed out and depressed..........i sort of stopped tracking.


today im going to try to get back into making the effort for myself.

i have this problem how to balance taking care of MYself and taking care of my other people and even though this week i cut way back by not babysitting my little granddaughters for 2 days , and by not working 3 days from 4am to 9am. and giving up one 2 hr cleaning job. Just for this week because i was under the weather. I did pick up 3 days helping out my 85 yr old friend driving her around and helping her pack up her home that she is giving up. I know it seems to me that mostly everyone i know is able to achieve this balance and it sounds like a cop out to say i cant take care of my self and everyone else but for some reason its distracting to me. Im very lucky if I can get down all my prescriptions and half of my prescribed supplements if im not just home or on a routine ........... ADD and OCD and Depression and Firbo is a challenge.
At least its spring and the days are longer and soon it will be warmer and ill be more motivated .

    Wow! You cut back but you still filled up that time. You are doing a good job of balancing things but you need more ME time. This is not a cop out. You can only do so much!!
It is not selfish in fact it is a good thing to learn the word NO. I too have done a lot of this in the past. In trying to help everyone, I had a nervous breakdown that took months of therapy to help me realize I need to put me first. By putting me first I have enough energy left to help out others.

Get back to doing what you need to do, but put yourself at the TOP of your to-do-list. emoticon

I have a problem using the food tracker but I like to keep a small journal with me and keep track that way. We are all different and you will have to find out what works for you. I do believe you need to keep track of what you eat as this will help you to see where you make the right or wrong choice and make corrections right away.

We are on this journey together, and together emoticon

    Fibro is it's on kinda heck. Add other illnesses and it just gets out of control. I struggle all the time to find balance between taking care of my family, my framily, my obligations and myself. I constantly hear juggling music in the background of my mind.

Thanks for reaching out and commenting on my blog - it's always easier to go thru stuff with folks who get it.

    Hi Sally, You've got to give yourself enough ME time and stop right now being there for everyone else but yourself. If you get sick or too stressed out it won't be good for you or any of your family and friends. I think to help you de-stress you did the right thing for giving yourself more hours and cutting back on some jobs.     As so many have already said, I too have been there, done that. I am learning that taking care of myself is critical to taking care of anyone else. Also have learned that when I make a plan to do anything that my plans are doomed to failure UNLESS I tailor that plan to fit into MY LIFE. I KNOW that if I PLAN to do something that is difficult to fit into my life, I will PLAN until the cows come home but will PROBABLY not do whatever IT is more than a couple of times. On the other hand if I PLAN to fit in the things that I consider important and that actually fit into MY LIFE, they tend to get done more often than not. Try looking at YOUR LIFE realistically and making a plan that fits THAT REAL LIFE. Making it EASIER to make healthy choices than unhealthy ones helps. You talk about the number of grab-whatever-and-go meals you have been eating. I keep snacks, healthy foods that fit into my life and my plan in all sorts of places so the fast food/convenience store/quick snack temptations are reduced - I have a small cooler in the car, a packet of stuff in my gym/pool bag, stuff in my desk at school, and so on. It helps me to make better choices. I keep a mixture of mini candy bars (sometimes under stress I WANT something sweet), nuts (salty sometimes works too), protein and fiber bars, fruit, veggie and crackers with peanut butter and/or cheese. With the selection I feel like I have a CHOICE but I don't have to buy something or eat things just because they are there.

Hang in there - don't get discouraged, HAVE FUN, and enjoy your journey.

    Been there, done that! Just get back to the tracker , I have found that it is easy to forget taking my meds, etc. Old age, I hope not. emoticon I guess it is time to get some sticky notes.

    Sally, do the best you can, but remember...if you're sick or not well and can't do those things, someone else has to step up to the plate. You might start to think a bit about why you feel compelled to do so much. Obviously, you love it or you wouldn't be doing it, right? If that's the case, then maybe you can find a way to work yourself into the routine, too. Maybe try tracking at least one meal a day. Or, plan for tomorrow today and track it...you can do it ahead. That might help with the mindless eating you mentioned. I know I have lots of ideas for you, but you will have to find your own! It is your life and you must figure it out. Try not to let the busyness become one more excuse--believe me, I've lived them all and finally have run out! LOL! Best to you! emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Sometimes it all seems to back-up, this causes a clog.. But start tracking, and soon things will even out, and you'll be back to a smooth life flow!
You are right, Spring arriving and milder weather, longer days ..All make a big difference !

emoticon Thanks everyone for the Anniversary wishes its so kind of you but i have to be honest........................... im on and off Sparks all the time. I think this has been my longest streak since i first joined and gee, if i only HAD stuck wit hit for 3 years i actually MIGHT have met my goal.

ive been working at it for 3 months well, no, 5 months now and only lost 13 lbs.

and yesterday was REALLY bad. ( but i didn't gain)

So thank you all for your Anniversary wishes , I wish i deserved them!

i am not getting on the scale today

because

i ate half a bag of potato chips yesterday

i could have stoped at one handful but i didn't . so here i am , starting over again today.

but i am happy with myself to say that the past few months i have been pretty good about not over eating. that is saying a lot for me!

    Been there, done that. It never gets any easier. The other night I ate a huge piece of restaurant coconut cream pie, you know the size, restaurant, enough for two to three people. It didn't end there, I also ate two pieces of banana nut bread, restaurant again. I had brought dinner home from the restaurant carry-out. I guess I thought I could hide it. WRONG! We've all done things like this before. But I did it and I'm going on. I'm not going to be defeated by the scale. I've stressed myself out before over this same situation over and over again, but I made it through it and I keep picking myself up, I've learned not to keep beating myself up. The more I let it bother me the more stress I become and the more weight I gain. I'm learning to forgive myself and move on. So strive to do better the next time. Allow youself some of those potato chips daily. You might see that you do not want them so much that you binge on them. Have a GREAT HEALTHY DAY! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

well something is wrong wit h my computer

it only lets me open up FB

i cant open a window for spark people or yahoo or flickr or any of my bookmarks and im sure ash heck not going to try to open my banking info,,,,,,,,,
but how you ask, is she on spark people now?

well, FB has an APP for sparkpeople,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and well i don't understand how its linked because it only brings you to a page that says join for free and you have to go thru the process that says sign up here and i do that and then it tells me there is already someone with sallyanne0852 but at the very top of that there is the MY sparkpeople menu with the "start" selection...........and i selected it and got the sparkpeople sign in so here i am.............
ok well, i gotta go, i see smoke pouring out of my fathers chimney down the street, means he is up. Hes been pretty grumpy being snowed in for 2 now 3 days without company.

oh well 6 hours of digging snow. no overeating....... ( i didn't stock up, i didn't believe w were having a major weather event ) and i only lost 1 lb.

well, have a good one , im just to pleased with myself finding this back door into sparks! i wonder if it will work for flickr!

    You did great figuring that one out. I probably would not have. It seems like my computer has been very slow and acting weird the last few days. I hope sparks has not let some virus get to us by accident
