Tonight , after work I had my first offical workout at the Y. It is called original strength training. Oh my goodness, feel the burn. Who ever invented those big ropes should be shot. So after the trainer kills us with the ropes she has a 16 station workout area set up. 1 minute at each station. No problem right, WRONG. She had us jumping, doing lunges, planks with your feet suspended in rings, lunges with one leg suspended in a ring, etc., etc, etc,... Overall, best workout I've had in a long time. Can't wait until next week.

On sunday's wesit down and make out our weekly menu, then go shopping for whatever ingredients we may need.
This week I will be trying 8 new recipes. Have tried 4 of them so far today. this morning I tried a monte cristo sandwich, recipe from a spark member. Absolutely delicious. Nice way to start off the day. Sunday afternoon is Seafood Sunday at our house. Today's menu included Pan seared talipia, cheddar biscuits, shrimp scampi, (all these recipes came from SparkRecipes) plus steamed asparagus and broccoli with a salad. Yet after all that good and healthy eating I'm still under 1000 calories.
Monday's are meatless monday day for us, so I will be making a creamy potato soup with grilled cheese.
Tuesday will be another new recipe(from cooking light) Chicken Stir Fry
Wednesday will be a favorite Turkey BLT's
Thursday another cooking light recipe Blackened chicken with dirty rice
Friday (cooking light recipe) will be Shrimp and Pea Rice Bowl
Saturday we will wind out the week with another cooking light recipe Pan-Grilled Flank Steak with Soy-Mustard Sauce
8 new recipes, 4 down, 4 more to go. All healthy and SOOOOOO GOOOOD TO EAT.

Well, my best friend came to see me today. I only get to see him once a week and he is only here a couple of minutes, but lately he has been bringing me such good news. I really don't no why he continues to come over though because all I do is walk all over him.
Like this morning he comes over and I walk over him again and all he can say is " YOUR CURRENT WEIGHT IS 182.
That is a 2 pound lost this week. Once again he has brought me good news. Then he left and now I won't get to see him until next Sunday. His stays a short but his words have such meaning.
2 more pounds gone, I love it.

Day started out great, I over slept. Woke up wondering why I felt so awake. I shouldn't feel this awake I thought to myself. The alarm that I had set for 4:30 hadn't even went off yet. Boy this is going to be a great day, I'll get in an extra long workout before work. Well it sure sounded good until I rolled over and saw those little LED numbers telling me that it was 5:50. OOPS I had set it for 4:30 P.M. not A.M
So I fly out of bed to get dressed so atleast I can get a walk in. I did manage to get in a little over 1/2 mile.
So after shower and breakfast I'm off to work, ten minutes behind schedule. Good thing I always leave 45 minutes before work to make a 20 minute drive.
Get to work kind of bummed out that I had over slept and didn't get my work out in, when they tell us that we will be leaving 2 hours earlier. GREAT I can get my workout in early when I get home.
On the way home I decide that I'll do my 5K training first. We have a country block that we walk/jog around. Not quite 4 miles, not much traffic, we enjoy it. Now we usually do this around 5:30 or 6:00, but today me in all my brilliance decided to do this just after school let out. NOT A WISE DECISION. Spent more time in the ditches than on the road. Parents picking up their children, Kids driving back to school for ball practice, Farmers heading to their fields, school buses, and a few who I believe just wanted to see if I really would run through a ditch.
I get home to load in our fun little adventure, but find a entry for WALK/Jog/DITCH CLIMBING. OH well the ditch climbing workout was better than no workout.

To run or not to run, that is the question? Not really. My wife and I have decided to do a 5K. We started the 5K your way program Sunday. So far all is well. I love to run, although at my current weight not as easy as it used to be. My wife on the other hand is not a big runner. She is trying hard though. Today I also recruited our health coach from work to do it as well. This will be the first 5K for all of us, so my guess is we will walk part of it, but WE WILL FINISH IT!
