Still hanging on

Tuesday, July 30, 2013

When last I wrote, I was seeking renewed motivation, especially with two weddings coming up. Here I am, between the two weddings, and still in about the same place. I'm up a bit (5 pounds) as a result of the first wedding in June. Need to get those off before the second wedding in 25 days or my dress won't be comfortable.

I keep signing in. I keep doing well on my eating up until I get home from work. And then I'm losing control of where I'd like to be. Time to enlist the help of my DH to get me in and out of the kitchen as soon as possible. If I'm not in that room, I'm able to stay in control.

Coming back to my Spark Page, I'm disappointed to see how few of my SparkFriends are still using the site. If nothing else, I will keep checking in, even as the doldrums continue. If I leave the site, I'm sure it will be too easy to stop paying attention at all. Staying on a plateau is far better than ballooning back to my old self.

I'm not finished yet!

Hang in there! As one who left sparkpeople and then came back, I can tell you I not only ballooned back to my former weight but gained even MORE! I'm glad I started over again and I know what will happen if I leave. As for being in the doldrums...this too shall pass! emoticon

Hang in there! One good thing about Sparkpeople is that many times our friends who have left come right back and we have a chance to reconnect with them...

You're surely right though, about not wanting to slip back into past behavior...

Have you tried the Fast Metabolism Diet by Nutritionist Haley Pomroy? It only takes 28 days to complete a cycle. In those 28days, I lost 24 lbs. and 14inches!! Lots of people are having success watching the lbs. drop off day by day. For me it was the program my body does the best on. Pretty much a food rotation diet geared toward getting your metabolism revved and burning fat.

It's only 28days!! Who can't do that! Right? If you are interested there is a team and on the team site it explains the program.

I watched Pomroy on Dr. Oz one day and everything she said made so much sense to me.

Good luck to you!! emoticon

Get back to it

Sunday, February 03, 2013

Ive just come back from a business trip to Germany. I feel like I'm out of control--eating too much of healthy foods, and many less than healthy foods, too. I have two daughters getting married this summer--one in June and one in August. Starting now, I have to rediscover the discipline that got my weight off in 2011. I need to get back in the groove, where I feel better, have more energy and a bit more room in all my clothes. Not tomorrow. Right now.

TSA agent

Wednesday, September 26, 2012

Im flying home from the east coast today. As I went through security, the TSA agent looks at me, looks at my license, looks back at me and says. "Well, I must say, you've lost a lot of weight and you are looking good!"

I told him thanks and said "I am so ready for my license to be renewed and get a new photo,"

Hs answer "Boy, I'd keep it like this so you can keep getting compliments!"

emoticon emoticon It's great that people notice and he took the time to tell you. Enjoy the feeling, you deserve it. I read in a magazine once that someone's goal was to weigh the amount that was on the drivers license. You just put a new twist on that. emoticon continued success on your journey. Judy

who's that?

Friday, August 10, 2012

Last evening my husband and I were meeting some friends for dinner. He took the bus downtown, and I walked from my office to his bus stop. He was standing by Nordstrom, scanning the crowd, looking for me.
It was kind of fun to watch him look at me not once, not twice, but three times before he recognized me.

no weight loss since January

Friday, August 03, 2012

My scales have been stubborn.
My body is rebelling.
I will prevail.
I will patiently wait for my body to feel safe to start loosing again.

In the meantime, I'm now wearing a pair of jeans that are a size 10.

Hurrah.

Don't care what the scale says.

I agree with KNEEMAKER sometimes to get that metabolism going you have to eat more - but this does not work for everyone. So you have to find that thing that will work for you. But your body must be shrinking somehow because you are wearing a smaller size - CONGRATS!!!!

You may not believe this but the way I re-rev my metabolism when it adjust to a level I quit losing is to: you guessed it--EAT MORE. I eat more for about one week then slowly start reducing calories again. Amazingly it works for me. After 6 months it will not hurt to give it a try. Let me know if it works for you too. Good luck in your journey.
