Boy did God even know what He was doing when He placed the October goals on my mind!!!!

My weight went up 4.6 pounds in ONE week.......UGH!!!!!

I am not swollen a lot. I am very stiff and slightly puffy with sluggish movements.

I did eat quite a bit of pumpkin bread---which is all gone now and I won't be making more for quite a while---maybe November as a reward for reaching my goals. I love pumpkin bread and don't use good sense when I have it in the house. The same with other quick breads.

My new goals will begin Sunday so I have a couple of days to see if this is water weight (which I think it is) and comes off like it went on. I do swell up quickly.

Also, I ate out 3 times last week. I thought I was watching what I ate fairly well---I guess not. I did have grilled chicken from KFC on Tuesday which may be the cause of my gain. I only ate one piece (1/2 a breast) that didn't have skin on it and 2 sections of a wing.

Bet it is fluid retention and will be gone in no time. Just keep committing every day to the Lord and allow Him to direct you! You will do this!

Goals for October

Monday, September 26, 2011

Here we are closing in on the end of September. Have you met your goals for Sept? Did you set goals for Sept? Have you made October goals? One pound per week will mean that 10 to 12 pounds will be gone by Christmas---now wouldn't that be grand?

I have not displaced the 5 pounds that was my goal for Sept. I did dispose of 2 pounds for the month and 1 inch off my hips and waist.

My October goal is 8 pounds---5 for October and 3 from September. This is a long reaching goal that I am going to set my mind to work towards.

I am eating better and still should decrease the size of my portions. I eat a lot of vegetables but one can have too large of a portion of even the good stuff. This is my main problem---too large of a portion. If one peach or apple is good then 2,3 or 4 is even better---right???? NOT!!!

My October goals:

1.. down 8 pounds by Oct. 31

2. proper portion sizes

3. walk outside (as long as the weather holds) 20 to 30 minutes 5 of 7 days

These will be achieved by:

1. posting my official TOPS weight every Thursday and measure waist and hips Oct. 6 & 20 and post results

2. blog each Friday or Monday about progress and/or problems

3. get DJ into the habit of going for a walk so he will bug me until I take him ---he can be quite persistent....malamutes are stubborn dogs

Feeling Better

Thursday, September 01, 2011

B 12 level done Monday Aug. 29 was normal so injections are monthly now.

Still having heat issues. Temps from 90 to 103 just wear me out. Looking forward to cooler temps next week. If this turns out to be true, I will be outside a lot trimming trees and weed whacking.

Talking with the pastor of the former church went really well. He is such an understanding man. I hope the other members will be the same. I didn't leave because of any discord or anything like that, I just wanted a more active church. I really like this church and have gotten involved with a few things already. And they have a fantastic library that I have already made use of.

My weigh isn't going down very fast--seems to do the down and up thing. This heat swells me up a lot. My feet have been so puffy the past 2 or 3 weeks. Hopefully cooler weather will take care of that.

With my B 12 getting up to normal I am doing more things. I still tired easily but recover quicker with a nap.

God is watching over me and I love it.

A productive day

Monday, August 15, 2011

Once again God hasgifted us with a beautiful day to be outside. I was out for over 2 hours mowing. Still have side yard and dog pen to mow.

Night before last I got overheated and got really tired. Being a tired eater, I wolfed down everything I could get my hands on. Didn't seem to do much damage as (according to my scales) my weight is down a little more. I will know for sure Thursday when I have weigh in at TOPS.

I will do my 7th B 12 injection on Thursday also. One more then the level is redone. I do know that I am so much better. I tired some but refresh good with a nap.

I have an unpleasant chore to do that I've been putting off for a couple of weeks now. I am going to my old church to tell them that I am moving my membership. They people are very nice but I want a more active church. Valerie (daughter) , her 2 teens, and I have attended another church for 4 weeks now and we are ready to join it. They have lots of things going. I need something to get me out more. I tend to hole up here unless one of my girls goes somewhere with me. I need to not depend on them for my entertainment. Gosh--a month ago I wouldn't even have thought about doing this because I was too tired.

Already, I am going on a senior bus trip with this church. We are going to Branson for the day and to a show. I am excited. Also, they have a quilting group that meets once a week so I may get my quilting gumption back. They are collecting and cleaning peoples personal pictures from the tornado area. They will be returning these pictures to the rightful owners soon. Pastor says there are several other things we can get into. Plus they have a library.

God is taking such good care of me.

Update on Treatments

Wednesday, August 10, 2011

The weekly B12 injections seem to be helping a lot. I am getting out and doing things again. I got the lawn mowed, took grandkids shopping, and have done several other things. The extreme fatigue is gone. I still get tired but refresh after a nap. I will be getting my levels rechecked the last week of this month to determine further treatment.

Also, we are getting much cooler weather which I'm sure plays a big part in my feeling better. We have gotten some rain for 3 days now and have the possibility of sporadic showers the rest of this week. This week is supposed to be in the mid to high 80s all week which sure beats the 101 to 110 temps we've been having.

It felt so good to be out on the mower for approximately 3 hours Monday (before the rain). I am an outside person so this was extra good for me. Not only did I mow but also hung out clothes, turned off the AC and opened windows (until it rained and I had to close them again).

I wish to thank everyone for their prayers because I know they are the mainstay of my getting to feel better.

Thanking God for the rain , cooler temps, and feeling so much better.
