Update on Treatments

The weekly B12 injections seem to be helping a lot. I am getting out and doing things again. I got the lawn mowed, took grandkids shopping, and have done several other things. The extreme fatigue is gone. I still get tired but refresh after a nap. I will be getting my levels rechecked the last week of this month to determine further treatment.

Also, we are getting much cooler weather which I'm sure plays a big part in my feeling better. We have gotten some rain for 3 days now and have the possibility of sporadic showers the rest of this week. This week is supposed to be in the mid to high 80s all week which sure beats the 101 to 110 temps we've been having.

It felt so good to be out on the mower for approximately 3 hours Monday (before the rain). I am an outside person so this was extra good for me. Not only did I mow but also hung out clothes, turned off the AC and opened windows (until it rained and I had to close them again).

I wish to thank everyone for their prayers because I know they are the mainstay of my getting to feel better.

Thanking God for the rain , cooler temps, and feeling so much better.

Doing Well Today

So far today has been a good day even though it is extremely hot. I got some weed whacking done this morning and some shopping done around noon.

I bought fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, and a cantaloupe.

Another Scorching Day

We're headed into another week of excessive heat warnings--temps up to 112 possible. It was 84 at 8 AM. Set a record today at 108.

I did get out and mow the front and side yards this morning before the temps got real high. Was out on the mower about 90 minutes sweating. I did wear a hat most of the time--I do not like hats--I cannot stand anything on my head. Also, I hung out a load of laundry this morning.

I got invited out to lunch with my daughter and son in law. We went to a buffet that has lots of veggies and a wonderful fruit bar. I ate my desert first--it was watermelon, cantaloupe. strawberries. and cucumbers with tomatoes. Then I ate from the food bar---couldn't finish my 1 plate--only ate half of it.

Do you use the new food plate as your guideline? The FDA has changed the food pyramid to a plate, it is fantastic and so easy to follow no matter what size plate you use. I did a lesson on this at TOPS. I took 8 inch foam plates, markers and stick on magnets and had everyone make a "plate" for their frig. They loved it. The plate is divided into 4 sections--those being fruit, veggie, grains, protein. Dairy is separate at the side of the plate. Just make sure to fill half of your plate with fruits and veggies, 1/4th with grains and 1/4 with protein. Your meal will be balanced. There is a web site explaining all this..I think it is myplate.gov. Spark People has a nice article about this change. The plate is much easier to understand than the pyramid was. Even youngsters can follow it.

Then I came home and took a nap---now here I am....hehehe

Beginning To Feel Human Again

I haven't added to my blogs due to my extreme fatigue and tiredness. Each day it seemed like a chore just to put one foot in front of the other. Moving from my bed to my computer chair was a big chore---some days I didn't even want to do that.

After 3 Vit. B 12 injections, I am feeling 80 to 90% human again. I am getting up and doing things as the heat will allow. I have even been hanging out my clothes to dry and taking DJ for walks.

This week I only went down 2/10th of a pound but as it was so graciously pointed out to me it is down and not up. Thank you God for the encouragements of these special people. I hope to soon be back into some quilting---haven't quite gotten that far yet.

My daughter, grandkids, and I have been visiting a different church that we may join. It has many more programs going that the one I currently belong to. Also, we would get to meet a lot more people and I would get out of the house more. I am sort of stagnated right now. Of course the fatigue didn't help either.

I have been consuming lots of fresh veggies this past 2 weeks---tomatoes, green peppers, cucumbers, cantaloupe, watermelon, and onions. Been making salads with fat free Italian dressings and a little olive oil.

Thank you Lord for caring for me and please, pretty please..could we have some nice gentle rain?

3. RELAX: give yourself the time to enjoy your snack or meal mindfully. you'll feel more satisfied with less food

4. SAVOR: make eating a multisensory experience. notice the appearance, aromas, textures, and flavors

5. SAVOR: take one small bite at a time. chew slowly

6. ENJOY: enjoy the setting, the company, and the occasion---even if it's only a short break!
