Feeling Better

Thursday, September 01, 2011

B 12 level done Monday Aug. 29 was normal so injections are monthly now.

Still having heat issues. Temps from 90 to 103 just wear me out. Looking forward to cooler temps next week. If this turns out to be true, I will be outside a lot trimming trees and weed whacking.

Talking with the pastor of the former church went really well. He is such an understanding man. I hope the other members will be the same. I didn't leave because of any discord or anything like that, I just wanted a more active church. I really like this church and have gotten involved with a few things already. And they have a fantastic library that I have already made use of.

My weigh isn't going down very fast--seems to do the down and up thing. This heat swells me up a lot. My feet have been so puffy the past 2 or 3 weeks. Hopefully cooler weather will take care of that.

With my B 12 getting up to normal I am doing more things. I still tired easily but recover quicker with a nap.

God is watching over me and I love it.

A productive day

Monday, August 15, 2011

Once again God hasgifted us with a beautiful day to be outside. I was out for over 2 hours mowing. Still have side yard and dog pen to mow.

Night before last I got overheated and got really tired. Being a tired eater, I wolfed down everything I could get my hands on. Didn't seem to do much damage as (according to my scales) my weight is down a little more. I will know for sure Thursday when I have weigh in at TOPS.

I will do my 7th B 12 injection on Thursday also. One more then the level is redone. I do know that I am so much better. I tired some but refresh good with a nap.

I have an unpleasant chore to do that I've been putting off for a couple of weeks now. I am going to my old church to tell them that I am moving my membership. They people are very nice but I want a more active church. Valerie (daughter) , her 2 teens, and I have attended another church for 4 weeks now and we are ready to join it. They have lots of things going. I need something to get me out more. I tend to hole up here unless one of my girls goes somewhere with me. I need to not depend on them for my entertainment. Gosh--a month ago I wouldn't even have thought about doing this because I was too tired.

Already, I am going on a senior bus trip with this church. We are going to Branson for the day and to a show. I am excited. Also, they have a quilting group that meets once a week so I may get my quilting gumption back. They are collecting and cleaning peoples personal pictures from the tornado area. They will be returning these pictures to the rightful owners soon. Pastor says there are several other things we can get into. Plus they have a library.

God is taking such good care of me.

emoticonThat you are doing better! Church activities are good especially the kindness in doing things that bless the hurting; that is what Jesus would have all His children do. emoticon emoticonfor posting! Jenny emoticon

Update on Treatments

Wednesday, August 10, 2011

The weekly B12 injections seem to be helping a lot. I am getting out and doing things again. I got the lawn mowed, took grandkids shopping, and have done several other things. The extreme fatigue is gone. I still get tired but refresh after a nap. I will be getting my levels rechecked the last week of this month to determine further treatment.

Also, we are getting much cooler weather which I'm sure plays a big part in my feeling better. We have gotten some rain for 3 days now and have the possibility of sporadic showers the rest of this week. This week is supposed to be in the mid to high 80s all week which sure beats the 101 to 110 temps we've been having.

It felt so good to be out on the mower for approximately 3 hours Monday (before the rain). I am an outside person so this was extra good for me. Not only did I mow but also hung out clothes, turned off the AC and opened windows (until it rained and I had to close them again).

I wish to thank everyone for their prayers because I know they are the mainstay of my getting to feel better.

Thanking God for the rain , cooler temps, and feeling so much better.

Doing Well Today

Wednesday, August 03, 2011

So far today has been a good day even though it is extremely hot. I got some weed whacking done this morning and some shopping done around noon.

I bought fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, and a cantaloupe.

Another Scorching Day

Monday, August 01, 2011

We're headed into another week of excessive heat warnings--temps up to 112 possible. It was 84 at 8 AM. Set a record today at 108.

I did get out and mow the front and side yards this morning before the temps got real high. Was out on the mower about 90 minutes sweating. I did wear a hat most of the time--I do not like hats--I cannot stand anything on my head. Also, I hung out a load of laundry this morning.

I got invited out to lunch with my daughter and son in law. We went to a buffet that has lots of veggies and a wonderful fruit bar. I ate my desert first--it was watermelon, cantaloupe. strawberries. and cucumbers with tomatoes. Then I ate from the food bar---couldn't finish my 1 plate--only ate half of it.

Do you use the new food plate as your guideline? The FDA has changed the food pyramid to a plate, it is fantastic and so easy to follow no matter what size plate you use. I did a lesson on this at TOPS. I took 8 inch foam plates, markers and stick on magnets and had everyone make a "plate" for their frig. They loved it. The plate is divided into 4 sections--those being fruit, veggie, grains, protein. Dairy is separate at the side of the plate. Just make sure to fill half of your plate with fruits and veggies, 1/4th with grains and 1/4 with protein. Your meal will be balanced. There is a web site explaining all this..I think it is myplate.gov. Spark People has a nice article about this change. The plate is much easier to understand than the pyramid was. Even youngsters can follow it.

Then I came home and took a nap---now here I am....hehehe
