Had a fairly good report from the doctor this morning.

1...blood pressure is good

2. heart is good------stopped the Cardizam

3. feet are swollen more---increased the diuretic

4. weight was up 2.2 pounds-------see above note

5. don't have to return for 6 months

6 recheck of B 12 and hemoglobin drawn---report to be called in a few days.

All in all not a bad visit....besides the doctor is cute (and married)......lol

    sounds pretty good .. you should see my DH's specialist ... oh my oh my !! I definitely know what you mean .... LOL .... never had any docs that ever looked that good .... he is an excellent doctor too .... so very very good to DH ... Roc

2013 GOALS

These are my goals for 2013:

1. one pound per week which would be 52 pounds during 2013

2. walk 5 of 7 days ( and actually get outside and do it) outside when weather permits it....take DJ walking to strengthen his legs as he is having more and more difficulty getting up

3. stay within the 1200 to 1500 calorie range--maybe even lowering my calorie range

4. blog progress every 2 weeks

I've made some goals, but I'm not decided exactly how to put them down in the order I want to achieve them. I'm starting on my eating challenge today. I still have quite a ways to go to reach the goal weight my doctors want me to weigh. Please read my page to learn about me.

Thursday's Weigh In

I was down 1.2 pounds on Thursday when I weighed in........some of the 2 pounds regained the previous week by eating hi sodium meals.....

Plan to do as well if not better this week......which isn't off to such a great start.....had a roasted chicken breast on 9 grain honey wheat from Subway, then granddaughter made taco salad for supper.....under calories but over on sodium...

Contemplating Goals For 2013

While I haven't written down any specific goals for 2013, I have begun pondering over them.

These are some for a rough draft:

1. adding to the 16 pounds I am down from my surgery...increasing the number of pounds down not up.......lol---goal is 1 pound per week which would be 52 pounds gone by this time in 2013

keeping goals simple and short so to better accomplish them.

    Short and simple is the way to go, in my opinion. When I had long lists, it was just overwhelming.

Guess 3 was too many

This past week, I consumed 3 regular meals, 2 at Christmas functions and one at a casino, which I guess was too many because my weight went up a little over 2 pounds. I knew it would go up once I restarted regular food so I guess it's back to soup for me a while longer.

    remember, fiber and roughage deter colon cancer. Perhaps it is not how MUCH you ate, but WHAT you ate,, more sodium than the soups, higher carb content?? Your body probably grabbed right on to any fluids it could from those foods too.. baby steps..

I read some of your prev. blogs and I want to tell you that I am very, very happy that God held you in His arms and let us have you here longer. there are no accidents with Him and that surgeon would not have let you leave that day/night without making it right. I am adding a thank-you to my prayers to Him tonight for the gift of You.

    you are fine .... losing weight while sick is usually not a normality ....you definitely needed nutrition .... you will be ok .... Roc
