Too Much Graduation Cake

Saturday, May 14, 2011

Veronica graduated last night and had her open house today.

I got her cake at WalMart. They make such good cakes and I don't use good sense when I get close to one. I cCOULD have ate nearly the whole cake. I didn't but I sure had tooooooo much of it. I didn't eat much else---just some baby carrots and celery.

Tomorrow will be tough too because we have our monthly pot luck at church. I have fruit to take.

Forgiveness is key. Its just one occasion and a special one in the life of the graduate, so don't apologize or beat yourself up. Just get back to the basics of what your journey is and you'll be fine.

This journey is not about being perfect every day, it is about starting over each and every time you have a bad day.

You will do great tomorrow, fill up on your fruit first and you will be fine.

When you've eaten too much and you can't write it down,
And you feel like the biggest failure in town.
When you want to give up just because you gave in,
and forget all about being healthy and thin.
So What! You went over your points a bit,
It's your next move that counts...So don't you quit!
It's a moment of truth, it's an attitude change.
It's learning the skills to get back in your range.
It's telling yourself, "You've done great up till now.
You can take on this challenge and beat it somehow."
It's part of your journey toward reaching your goal.
You're still gonna make it, just stay in control.
To stumble and fall is not a disgrace,
If you summon the will to get back in the race.
But, often the struggler's, when loosing their grip,
Just throw in the towel and continue to slip.
And learn too late when the damage is done,
that the race wasn't over...they still could have won.
Lifestyle change can be awkward and slow,
but facing each challenge will help you grow.
Success is failure turned inside out,
the silver tint in a cloud of doubt.
When you're pushing to the brink, just refuse to submit,
If you bite it, you write it....But don't you quit!

Rainy Friday

Friday, May 13, 2011

We had more storms last night with thunder, lightning, wind and rain. We were lucky the tornadoes went around and past us without touching down. It's raining again today.

Going to Veronica's graduation tonight and open house tomorrow. She is my newest granddaughter. We got to welcome her and her brother into our family 2 years ago when daughter Tammy married their dad, Randy.

Weight stayed the same at TOPS this week.

Not much else for now

Wonderful Sunny Day

Saturday, May 07, 2011

Another wonderful day as a gift from God.

I went out to breakfast again with Maria and Roger. We went out yesterday, too then to some yard sales. Today we went to the plant sale. I got more irises---yellow and white and some flowers called naked ladies.

I got all the roses planted. Still have to plant my Easter lily and the ones I just got.

Trimmed one of the trees today.....feeling so much better with the sun out....

Hopeful of a good weigh in on Thursday.

A Beautiful Friday

Friday, May 06, 2011

At last we have had a beautiful sunshiny few days. I have accomplished quite a bit over the past 4 days. I've mowed the entire lawn, planted the rose bushes, irises, hyacinths, and pansies. I pulled up the marker fence pieces from around the small trees--some are growing good and some didn't make it. Picked up the marker rocks, too----will add these rocks to the ones around the rose bushes so I can fill them with mulch.

I got to dry the laundry on the line.

At Thursday's weigh in at TOPS, I was down 2 pounds.

Today, I was gone for over 4 hours doing yard sales with Maria and Roger.

Food choices are better---still eating quite a bit of chocolate---M&M peanuts and Cadbury chocolate bars still on hand from Easter along with jelly beans. I am controlling how much I do eat of these items.

Rain, Rain, Rain

Sunday, May 01, 2011

The rain has returned. A cloudy gloomy day!!! Didn't do anything after church except sit in my chair.

All I wanted to do was eat, eat, eat....and I did.....chocolate, chocolate, chocolate....I did have a good dinner and supper......pork roast, mashed potatoes, rutabaga, cabbage, and carrots and fresh strawberries..

One day of rest..

You ended the day great with a nice well rounded meal. yes, you should allow a day of rest, but dont let it become two or three. we are here even on a rainy day encouraging you to do indoor exercises, even sitting in your chair. keep coming here and you will succeed.
