Sunny, chilly, windy Monday

Monday, May 16, 2011

I am able to get out today and do some yard work. I got all the limbs from previous tree trimmings picked up and put on the burn pile. I trimmed the last of the trees. Still have 4 or 5 bulbs to plant along with my Easter lily. Mowed the dog pen. Set up my other bird bath.

Getting new internet service tomorrow......hoping to get better and faster service than I have now.

A bleak and gloomy Sunday

Sunday, May 15, 2011

I chose fairly well at the pot luck today. My desert was strawberries. After yesterday, I didn't take any sweets. I did have some chocolate later in the afternoon.

I didn't go outside today due to being cold and having chills since yesterday evening.

Hoping for nicer weather tomorrow so I can get the rest of the trees trimmed and some weed whacking done. Also have some more plants to get in.

Too Much Graduation Cake

Saturday, May 14, 2011

Veronica graduated last night and had her open house today.

I got her cake at WalMart. They make such good cakes and I don't use good sense when I get close to one. I cCOULD have ate nearly the whole cake. I didn't but I sure had tooooooo much of it. I didn't eat much else---just some baby carrots and celery.

Tomorrow will be tough too because we have our monthly pot luck at church. I have fruit to take.

Forgiveness is key. Its just one occasion and a special one in the life of the graduate, so don't apologize or beat yourself up. Just get back to the basics of what your journey is and you'll be fine.

This journey is not about being perfect every day, it is about starting over each and every time you have a bad day.

You will do great tomorrow, fill up on your fruit first and you will be fine.

When you've eaten too much and you can't write it down,
And you feel like the biggest failure in town.
When you want to give up just because you gave in,
and forget all about being healthy and thin.
So What! You went over your points a bit,
It's your next move that counts...So don't you quit!
It's a moment of truth, it's an attitude change.
It's learning the skills to get back in your range.
It's telling yourself, "You've done great up till now.
You can take on this challenge and beat it somehow."
It's part of your journey toward reaching your goal.
You're still gonna make it, just stay in control.
To stumble and fall is not a disgrace,
If you summon the will to get back in the race.
But, often the struggler's, when loosing their grip,
Just throw in the towel and continue to slip.
And learn too late when the damage is done,
that the race wasn't over...they still could have won.
Lifestyle change can be awkward and slow,
but facing each challenge will help you grow.
Success is failure turned inside out,
the silver tint in a cloud of doubt.
When you're pushing to the brink, just refuse to submit,
If you bite it, you write it....But don't you quit!

Rainy Friday

Friday, May 13, 2011

We had more storms last night with thunder, lightning, wind and rain. We were lucky the tornadoes went around and past us without touching down. It's raining again today.

Going to Veronica's graduation tonight and open house tomorrow. She is my newest granddaughter. We got to welcome her and her brother into our family 2 years ago when daughter Tammy married their dad, Randy.

Weight stayed the same at TOPS this week.

Not much else for now
