Contemplating Goals For 2013

While I haven't written down any specific goals for 2013, I have begun pondering over them.

These are some for a rough draft:

1. adding to the 16 pounds I am down from my surgery...increasing the number of pounds down not up.......lol---goal is 1 pound per week which would be 52 pounds gone by this time in 2013

2. walk 5 of 7 days ( and actually get outside and do it) outside when weather permits it....take DJ walking to strengthen his legs as he is having more and more difficulty getting up

3. stay within the 1200 to 1500 calorie range--maybe even lowering my calorie range

4. blog progress every 2 weeks


keeping goals simple and short so to better accomplish them.

    Short and simple is the way to go, in my opinion. When I had long lists, it was just overwhelming.

Guess 3 was too many

This past week, I consumed 3 regular meals, 2 at Christmas functions and one at a casino, which I guess was too many because my weight went up a little over 2 pounds. I knew it would go up once I restarted regular food so I guess it's back to soup for me a while longer.

    remember, fiber and roughage deter colon cancer. Perhaps it is not how MUCH you ate, but WHAT you ate,, more sodium than the soups, higher carb content?? Your body probably grabbed right on to any fluids it could from those foods too.. baby steps..

I read some of your prev. blogs and I want to tell you that I am very, very happy that God held you in His arms and let us have you here longer. there are no accidents with Him and that surgeon would not have let you leave that day/night without making it right. I am adding a thank-you to my prayers to Him tonight for the gift of You.

    you are fine .... losing weight while sick is usually not a normality ....you definitely needed nutrition .... you will be ok .... Roc

Final Visit To the Surgeon and From Home Health

I got a good report from the surgeon's office and a total release. They said the incision should be completely healed within a week. I can now lift 20 to 30 pounds.

Finally got brave enough to have some radishes and a couple slices of raw turnip.

Home health said the same thing as the doctor that all should be healed within a week.

Now it's just a dressing change and no packing as there is very little drainage.

Return visit to primary care doctor on Dec. 26.

God sure has taken good care of me through all of this and I sure do praise and thank Him for being with me through it all.

Silly Goal Update

A few months ago several of you humored me with silly goals......here is an update on mine.....

I have 2 silly goals:

1. to wrap myself in a regular bath towel ....and have it fit

2. to fit in the space in front of my washer...(it is a small space)..

Needless to say I haven't reached either one yet........I am still working on them.

Do you have a couple of silly goals? Join me and have some fun!!

If you posted some--how are you doing? Have you obtained any of your silly goals?

Since my surgery has resulted in a 21 pound weight loss---at the moment I can wrap a regular towel around me---almost........hehehe....it comes together at the top but lets my middle still hang out to the wind....lol

I can fit into the space in front of my washer as long as I don't lean on my incision and holler in pain.........lol

Still working on them.....Have you got any silly goals???

    I do not consider any goal silly because it brings me closer to the person I want to be.
