VERSE:
Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
-- Luke 6:28
THOUGHT:
Outside the example of Jesus, this command makes no sense at
all. But, Jesus shows us the importance of leaving our destiny in
the hands of our Creator and Father. Suddenly, this makes perfect
sense. What is the best way to defeat an enemy? Certainly it's not
to beat or kill that person. No, the way we defeat our enemies is
by having Jesus' grace capture their hearts and having their
character conform to that of our King!
PRAYER:
Loving and gracious God, please soften my heart and toughen my
resolve so that I can love as Jesus loved. Make my life redemptive,
even to those who oppose, abhor, ridicule, and hate me. Use me,
dear Father, to bring others to the grace of Jesus. In his name I
pray. Amen.

Saturday, June 23, we were at the Joplin library for 2 hours and serviced 12 families. Some had photos returned to them and some we were unable to find photos for them. Several came and looked at our albums. The post office even delivered some more pictures and documents to us there. So far we have returned close to 15,000 photos to their rightful owners and still have over 27,000 left to be claimed. We are still getting photos sent to us that people have found, even after a year. It will take at least another year to clean, scan, sort, and post all the photos.
The next return session is scheduled for Friday, July 13 from 3 PM to 6 PM so maybe those that work can come by the Joplin Library.
We are part of the National Disaster Photo Rescue program.

Tonight, DJ took me for a walk around the yard. After 10 minutes, I had to stop because my hips were hurting. Also, there are 4 steps up my back deck so I did 5 trips up and down these steps in addition to the walking. Gotta get ready for next week's walking challenge.
By the way, my yard was a pasture so it is very rough. I have a roller to try to smooth it out however it's been too dry to do any rolling.
Having the family here tomorrow for a cook out so lots of exercise there. Also, going to Joplin for 2 hours to work the photo return session.

Weigh in this morning was great-----down 2.4 pounds even with my 2 days of over the top calorie wise. I did over eat with healthy foods---fresh tomatoes, green peppers, cukes, and apple. All good for me stuff, I just ate way too much of it but God blessed me so well with the weight loss.
Yes, I get fresh eggs from the local feed store---they sell them for someone who has chickens. When my daughter has enough, she gives me some, too. Fresh eggs are very plentiful around here as there are several people selling them.
Tomorrow, I will be off to getting more fresh tomatoes and cukes along with some zucchini and possibly green peppers. I may go to the Mennonite store for some things.
Praising God for the rain we got this morning---at first it was a storm with thunder, lightning, wind, and hard rain then after about 30 minutes it settled to a nice soaking rain.
