Heart Attack?

I suppose you may be wondering....and where is that crazy Sage these days??? Well, that crazy Sage thought she had a heart attack (which turned out just to be a really bad panic attack thank God) and injured the back of her right leg so bad she can hardly walk for a good long while. That and the depression monster has been lurking around. Anytime I can't get my exercise, it always seems to creep up on me.

On the positive side, I am going to try to walk a 3M/5K on September 30th in honor of my aunt who is really struggling with ovarian cancer. I've been trying to walk 1.5 miles twice a day if possible to prepare the last couple days. Sometimes I just have to turn back around and go back to the apartment because of the pain. I'm still waiting for the doctor to explain the results of my MRI to me next week. Hopefully it's not too serious and can be fixed and healed with just a wee bit of physical therapy. Oh, the foot doesn't hurt right now but then again I'm not really walking very much so it's hard to tell. One rehab assignment at a time please. emoticon

Well, I hope you all are well. It's been awhile since I've been on Spark regularly and for that I apologize. I simply have not been well. And before that I was in South America for 5 weeks. And before that I was not well. See a pattern? Here's hoping things are looking up.

    Hoping you feel better soon! Exercise is like medicine so I can see how you may get depressed when you can't do it but just take it easy and make sure you leg heel well. You can always do some upper baoody work till your legs feel better and that way your still exercicing. How nice that you will be doing than walk! Best of luck!!

Juicing

Yesterday I made out like a bandit at the Korean market. Can't beat 8 lbs of carrots for $4, can you? ;) Today I officially starting juicing: pumpkin, carrot, pear, and ginger. Spicy! Don't worry; my diet is not going to be just pure juice. I'm planning on trying to detoxify my body by drinking lots of fruit and vegetable juice freshly juiced mostly in the morning and for lunch along with some lean protein like fat-free Greek yogurt or cheese, tofu, beans, or a protein supplement. I will also probably eat a few healthy snacks during the day and have a moderate supper come early evening.

I read an article recently that said the freshness of the juice is critical to preserving and benefiting from the fat-burning, detoxifying enzymes present in a lot of natural produce. So far I have stocked for the week: pumpkin, pears, apples, raspberries, strawberries, kale, parsley, monchoy, celery, carrots, daikon radish, lemons, bananas (which go in the blender, not the juicer), tomatoes, and cucumbers. Not bad for $28, eh? Yep, I'm quite the bandit. I think as long as I check out the specials at the different markets, this is definitely a change my budget can afford.

    Yummy!!!!! desde ayer ando con antojo de jugo de naranja y zanahoria :), jamas he probado el jugo de pumpkin :O como sabe? nunca se me hubiera ocurrido jeje aqui casi nunca comemos calabaza excepto cuando se acerca Halloween :)... será dificil pero intentaré buscar una calabaza para probarlo emoticon

Sabes tambien cual es buenisimo?? el jugo de betabel con zanahoria, deberias probarlo n_n es deliciosooooooo y super nutritivo :)

Y me parece muy bien que vayas a agregar proteinas a tu dieta tambien :) yo necesito hacer eso urgente jeje, el tofu como te lo comes? asi solito o tienes alguna receta? :O yo no logro encontrar una forma de comermelo que me guste :S tiene un sabor muy... peculiar :P

Well, I thought "kinky" sounded a little better than desperate, which is what I am. I can't stop eating. I'm even driving out to get food whereas I usually just walk to the grocery store to buy fresh stuff that I cook.

This and getting out of the house and going for a walk are my solutions for now. Chalk it up to frazzled brain chemistry. I just hope things work themselves out soon.

    I have a theory that only a compulsion can make other compulsion stop. you have to find something you like very much , not food, if possibly not involving other persons (you know what I mean :P) , a thing that gives you much pleasure and do that when you want to eat .and are you on new medication? it could be a side effect emoticon

Before Pictures, 213 lbs

The truth shall set me free, right? I was really swollen in this picture, not to mention that the dress was at least a size too big and not form-fitting. PERFECT!!! That's what I want because I never took some decent "before" pictures at my absolute heaviest, so these should do perfectly. I also took some pictures in my monokini, but I am saving those "before" pics for when I have some really cool "after" pics to go with them. emoticon

    I admit I'm guilty . I KNOW I'm tired when I eat . I can postpone eating when I 'm just hungry , there's no problem with that. but when I'm tired (aka working my 24 hours shifts or the day after them)I can't really stop myself. why am I not sleeping instead?unfortunately the more tired I feel the less I can sleep and no sleep pills help me. so that's a vicious circle I didn't manage to break yet , but I'm working on it emoticon

    Gracias por compartir eso, Sage!! De verdad que si pensara en eso antes de comer me ahorraria muchisimas calorias... generalmente mi respuesta a esa pregunta es bored, sad o thirsty... hasta hace poco me di cuenta que tomo en promedio solo dos vasos de agua al dia!!!! :(
Yo creo que si lograramos determinar cuando de verdad tenemos hambre... todo esto de bajar de peso seria mucho mas sencillo.... ahora pensare en esto SIEMPRE antes de comer jeje lo prometo :)

Ponerlo en el refrigerador es una excelente idea :) creo que yo tendria que pegarlo en cada esquina de mi casa para que funcionara jejeje... soy como un hamster y tengo mis reservas escondidas por toda la casa xD ahh que pena jajaja...
