Birds flyin' high you know how I feel
Sun in the sky you know how I feel
Breeze driftin' on by you know how I feel
Its a new dawn, its a new day, its a new life for me
yeah, its a new dawn its a new day its a new life for me ooooooooh
AND I'M FEELING GOOD
Fish in the sea, you know how I feel
River runnin' free you know how I feel
Blossom on the tree you know how I feel
Its a new dawn, its a new day, its a new life for me
And I'm feelin good
Dragonfly out in the sun you know what i mean dont you know
Butterflies all havin' fun you know what I mean
Sleepin' peace when day is done that's what I mean
And this old world is a new world and a bold world for me
Stars when you shine you know how I feel
Scent of the crime you know how I feel
Your freedom is mine, and I know how I feel
Its a new dawn, its a new day, its a new life for me
OH I'M FEELING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD
These lyrics to the song "Feeling Good" by Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse, pretty much sum up how I feel as 2011 dawns on a new year and I've recommitted to myself -- to being healthier, fitter and, hopefully, skinnier.
So far this morning, I've started with SP and gotten my page well on it's way -- still have a lot of work to do here. I've also made my shopping list which includes ...wait for it....fruits and vegetables! Who would of thought it possible! I've also filled up my new Brita pitcher with nice cold water, and set about my plan for the meals for the day.
I love new beginnings - that time of eager anticipation, plan making and hope. The hard part comes in the follow through. Those are the days when everything doesn't seem quite so rosy and the dawn isn't quite as bright. That's when the work comes in. And of course work is a 4 letter word so that's bad.
What if.....what if every day could be like the first day with the same enthusiasm and optimism as at the start of a new year? I know that realistically that's not highly likely, but, all the same, I think that each day I will try to find something new in this old world to keep my enthusiasm high.
Right now Before He Cheats is playing on my iPod -- I love that song! Especially the part about the Louisville slugger taken to his headlights! If nothing else can I know Music can always put a smile on my face and add a bounce to my step. If anyone happens to read this blog and you know a fun song, drop me a line and let me know what it is. This would be much appreciated.
Welp, it's a gorgeous day outside and not as cold here in NYC as it has been, so I'm going to head to the market, get those fruit and veg, then come home and clean all the crap out of my fridge. As I was planning the errands I had to do, my natural inclination was to go the shortest distance. I've changed that plan and will make 3 stops in disparate directions, The extra walking will do me some good!!
Here's to the new year! May we all keep this feeling of new beginning with us always!
Happy New Year!
