Insanity - Day 28

Sunday, August 26, 2012

Rest Day Sunday (from Insanity but not from life)!! I spent the day enjoying the weather outside. First I went to my mom's to see her for a little while. Then I came home and walked to the pier and back. And finally, I went to my garden to fix it up a bit. It's so nice to be able to go outside and not wilt under the sun and humidity. It's also super nice to be able to walk my dogs (which I do 4-5 times a day) without them being to hot. Now I just need to take my bike in for adjustments, and I'll be able to go riding this coming week too. Woo Hoo!

Insanity - Day 27

Saturday, August 25, 2012

Plyo workout is DONE, meaning the first month of Insanity is COMPLETE!!! Yay!! I am so happy that the first month is done. It certainly went a lot faster than the last time, and it was a lot easier (and I worked a lot harder). I am ready for the Recovery Week next week. I want my body to get ready for the second month of Max cardio! For now, I am happy and will bathe in the happiness during the weekend. Take care everyone!!

Insanity - Day 26

Saturday, August 25, 2012

Pure Cardio & Abs today. I really like the Pure Cardio because it's pretty much non-stop and the exercises don't really repeat. You just keep going and keep changing, and finally you're done. The ab workout was good today too. I was really able to do almost everything without a problem except for the leg extensions on the mat. I had to stop a couple of times when both legs had to go up and in. I just started to use my back and knew I needed to stop. But, after a brief break, I was able to continue and finish. My goal will be one day to do the whole ab workout without taking a break. Yay!!! At least it's the same ab workout during the Max month, so I'll have plenty of chances to improve.

Great job on doing the double workout. The ab workout is a killer! It really makes me happy to see Tonya having a rough time. Bwahaha!

I have a question. My son has been considering doing insanity. I want to offer to do it it with him, but I have some concerns. I have read some of the reviews. One specifically said you should not start it in poor condition. I read others who started in bad shape who said they were in serious pain the first few weeks. I have been working out for about a month now, but I am far from in shape. I am 56 and cannot afford to be physically suffering for 2 weeks for a program like this. Would you recommend waiting longer for me to start, til I am in better shape? Also, I read where they have a diet plan. Have you followed that or stayed within the guidelines of the Spark program?

I went back and read some of your old blogs. It sounds like it has been a success for you. I like that kind of challenge. Five years ago I entered a mini-tri as part of a weight loss/conditioning program. I just want to make sure it is reasonable for me.

Insanity - Day 25

Thursday, August 23, 2012

Recovery Day! Boy, did I need it!! I kinda overdid it yesterday, so having the recovery day today was a gift. It's funny, I've always said that it's not much in the way of recovery (in cardio only, maybe), but today it truly felt like recovery. I stretched and used my muscles, and it felt really good! It was over quickly, and I realized this will be the last easy recovery I have this round. The next month the recovery gets harder, just like the cardio exercises.

But, I need to really just enjoy today and worry about the next month later on!

I hope you all enjoy your day!!

I feel the same way about Cardio Recovery - doesn't feel like recovery, but feels good to stretch the muscles.

Good luck! emoticon

I did the first day of recovery week yesterday. At first, I was like "what- this isn't recovery!" and then I started to realize it was a lot less impact than the other workouts and I began to enjoy it. I also take every day as it comes. Otherwise, I would never get through the day. You're doing awesome!

Love it! I felt the same way towards the end of the first month, and definitely today in Max Recovery! After those first three, I was quite accepting of today's workout emoticon You're almost to recovery week!

Insanity - Day 24

Wednesday, August 22, 2012

Plyometric Cardio Circuit all complete...done...finished...kaput. I can't believe that I'm almost done with the first month. I will re-do this workout on Saturday for the last time (this round). Exciting!

I have to state again that I know I'm so much stronger than the first round and even stronger than the first week of this second round, but the workout still is challenging. I know I have to be working harder/doing better, and I guess that's why I'm still shaking during those last plank ski jumps and in & outs. At least my heart rate has come way down and my breathing allows me to get through the whole workout without having to stop (except for those couple of 30-second breaks).

YAY! You ARE strong. It's wonderful that you are feeling yourself taking it to another level with this round. That drives me to get throught this first round and (GASP!) do another round!!! LOL
